Well, I'm not sure WHY they sent extra ones but I seem to remember something about them being spares for the CB Antenna, where you adjust the SWR at the stinger.

You can delete your ad or mark it sold. Marking is sold will let people that were interested know that it was indeed sold and then it will automatically delete in a couple of days. Go to your ad and then at the upper right will be a link that says "Product Options". That is where you do it. I understand but please see this thread for the downside. OK folks. Finally got around to taking a couple of pictures of our new Mascot. She is doing very well. Acts like she has been here forever and seems happy to have a good home. Goes to the vet on Wednesday for a good checkup but all is well so far. Here she is sporting her new VentureRider bell. Not 100% sure on a name yet but it looks like Eileen is leaning towards Lucy or Annie.

The way it is set up right now is that you must be a member to post after your free trial ends. Non-members CAN read all posts but cannot use the search feature. I think it's a good compromise. It just seems that we would want folks to be able to read so that they can see what a great group you all are.

I use Mobil 1 Sythetic Gear Lube. Very pleased with it.

Yea...I haven't thought it all the way through yet. At this time, I'm not removing them if they are registered. We still have a few joining all the time. If somebody wants a name that is already taken though, I will generally try to contact that member first and find out if he or she is OK with me re-assigning the name. That is what I did for Dano. That name was taken. I contacted that person and he told me that he had sold his bike and didn't plan to get another one anytime soon.

The Mascot is doing fine. She even has a VentureRider bell hanging from her collar. I'll tray to take some pictures later today. Brad, don't know for sure where I'll be in Michigan but will give you a call if I'm close by.

Got home from Minnesota around 11:00 last night. Really glad to be home again and am ready for things to get back to normal. Weather was fantastic there and it would have been great to have had my bike with me. Oh well.... Home for the weekend but then have to get on the road again. Probably somewhere in Michigan next week so that's not too far a drive for me. Have some updates and etc. to do on the site and will probably be doing that on Monday evening after I get checked into a hotel somewhere. Nothing major, just some security upgrades.

Also, did you install the small restrictors? Mine doesn't bounce around much but it will if you don't use the restrictors that they send.

I think it would be interesting. I honestly don't know how they would compare but would like to find out. I do have both done to my '99 and will be willing to compare them the next time we get together if we can find a good place to do it.

I agree that the rev limiter and gearing are the primary difference between the first and second gens. Just add a Dyna 3000 Ignition module to take care of the rev limiter and a VMAX rear to correct the gearing and it will solve those issues.

Turn signal problem

I agree with the corrosion. I've seen several of these bikes with water in the turn signals. Usually the left rear for whatever reason. I've seen them so bad that there was no salvaging the sockets and they had to be replaced. Check them all for water and corrosion. -
What version is not working for her? I downloaded the new 3.5 version and it would not work at all. Lot's of problems. I went back and downloaded 3.0.13 and re-installed it and everything is good again. It will import your bookmarks from whichever version you tell it to.

I'm getting ready to head to the airport for a trip to our corporate headquarters in Cannon Falls, MN. I will be in Minnesota today, Decorah, Iowa for 3 days then back at our main offices in Cannon Falls on Friday. Will return late Friday night. I will be checking in at night but will not be online as much or long as I usually am. Wish I had time to visit with The Owl and Juggler and others in the area but just won't be able to on this trip. Maybe next time. I'm giving you all the job of watching Mini Muffin while I'm away. I know it's a tough job and that is why I'm deputizing everybody.

Not a bad idea but nothing firm yet. I'll give it some more thought over the next week or so. Just need to come up with a good date for it and somebody in that area that would be willing to help out with any details.

I think you will find that most here prefer either the Avon Venom or the Dunlop Elite III. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. With a few exceptions, most would recommend AGAINST the Metzeler and the Bridgestone.
