Yes, it is a Hopnel bib. I contacted them MONTHS ago asking if I could buy some of the basketweave vinyl and they never even responded. They have actually been bought out by somebody else now though. I finally found some vinyl that is actually upholstery material for the old VW Beetles and it is almost a perfect match.

Yes, she was one of the first that I contacted. She did NOT get uppity though. She did tell me that she could not duplicate basketweave tough. Actually I may contact her again now that I have that material and just see if they can make them if I send it to her.

No, I have not but I'll take a look the next time I see one in my travels.

Front Wheel Removal questions
Freebird replied to johnny-canuck's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
No is the answer on the rear tire. I've never tried the front so can't say for sure but I'm going to say no to it also unless you remove the fender. -
I actually spoke to a couple of folks who do leather work and they told me that they couldn't really duplicate it. It's not that I really want to make it myself, I just couldn't find anybody to do it. Now that I have the basketweave material, maybe I would offer to send it to them and now they could do it. I don't know. SOME of those real leathersmiths get a bit uppity if you mention vinyl.

I want to make a set of saddlebag bibs that match my Hopnel tank and trunk bibs. I finally found and bought some basketweave vinyl that is a very close match. I thought that the vinyl braid would be very easy to find but I've looked everywhere that I know to look and haven't been able to source it. It is about 5/16" - 3/8" wide. Any ideas?

If anybody is interested, I got the following message from Eddie. I put a new set of Avons on my bike. The ones I took off have about 8000 on them . They are in good enough shape for someone who might be down on there luck and can use a set. Let me know if you get wind of anyone. I can send them to them or to you and maybe we can give them to someone at MD. Please send him a PM if you are interested. His username is ...uh...Eddie.

Did you take a look at this thread? It is on a first gen but it shows step by step pictures of the Barnett install. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=491 -
I'm so sorry. They certainly become a part of the family. They need us but I think that we need them even more.

I saw the movie and also saw it is some book about the "most haunted places in America". Never been there but it's not very far from here.

Installed my SpeedOhealer
Freebird replied to shikano53's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Yes, the Beav is correct. My speedo was off about 7 1/2% and the odometer was off either 3 or 4%. That means that once you correct the speedo, your odometer will actually be reading a bit low.- 15 replies

OK folks. A number of people have complained that it is sometimes hard to find the member who is selling something in the classifieds. If you clicked their username, it opened up a profile in the classifieds but not the usual member profile. So, I've done some custom programming this evening that will hopefully make it easier for everybody. If you are in the classifieds now and click on the username of the person who posted the ad, it will open up their actual forum profile instead of the pretty much useless profile in the classifieds. I also changed it so that if you click the "contact buyer" link in a classified ad, it opens up the private message screen here on the forum. I tested it and it seems to be working correctly. Sometimes though when I make a change like that, it creates some unexpected changes that show up later. Hopefully it will work as I intend and it will make things better for all. If you notice any problems with it though, please let me know.

Interesting look but starting at over 15,000.00 for a 680CC? Just seems a bit steep to me.

Well, I don't own one but I went to Pioneer with Bongobob one day and they MADE me take one for a test ride. I have to tell you, I am not ready to give up my bike but if I could afford one of those in addition to what I already have, it would be parked in the garage next to the RSV. It was just a LOT of fun.

Well...that certainly makes the decision easy for everybody...looks like Mickey D's it is.

I absolutely do NOT want any kind of Bluetooth helmet or Bluetooth headsets but that actually sounds like a very fair price for anybody who does. Great report and I'm sure that many will appreciate it.

LOL....I must have missed where anybody suggested the death penalty. Make no mistake about it though, it COULD get somebody an involuntary manslaughter charge if it is proven that they were driving recklessly and caused the death of somebody else. I certainly wouldn't suggest such a penalty just for crossing the yellow line but I would say that a very expensive reckless driving citation is not out of order. I mean, he IS in a position to impose the death penalty on somebody else.

Yea...Twigg...I just have to disagree with you 100%. I've ridden the Dragon enough times to know that whether he is going slow or fast, it wouldn't matter at the speeds that I've seen some crotch rockets come around those curves. There is very little chance that he is going to get out of the way in time from the position that he is in. He may be a great guy and maybe he just made a mistake that one time but under the right conditions...and that could be at any time on the dragon...he is in real danger of killing himself and any rider coming around that curve. Yes, riding the dragon can be dangerous. It can be more dangerous because of people pushing the limits and especially those that try to ride just beyond their skill level, and I'll be the first to admit that I have done it to, but it is not worth it when you consider the very high chance of killing or disabling yourself or even worse, somebody else. The Dragon can be fun but it's NOT a closed track. It is a public road and yes, I do think that the fines should be steep when a bike is being ridden in a negligent way that can cause serious harm to others.

Well, I'm glad to hear that you found a good home for it. If you decide to change your name, just let me know what you want it to be and I'll Git 'r done.

Carlos, That is FANTASTIC news. I hope that things continue to improve for you. Just come on...however you have to get here. It will be great to see you again. Geeezzzzzzzzzzz.....the guy is just getting rid of a catheter and you are suggesting a screw turned in the end to make things easier? Then a VACUUM hose to make it longer and easier to work with? Please don't EVER help to offer ME.

I've heard this report a number of times on the newer RK Mufflers. Apparently there is a weld bead or something on the inside that prevents them from sliding on as far as the older ones did. Most have reported getting them on far enough for the mounts to work though.
