  1. I saw the movie and also saw it is some book about the "most haunted places in America". Never been there but it's not very far from here.
  2. Yes I did, that should do very well thank you. I did some re-arranging and moved it against the wall. We are READY now.
  3. Yes, the Beav is correct. My speedo was off about 7 1/2% and the odometer was off either 3 or 4%. That means that once you correct the speedo, your odometer will actually be reading a bit low.
  4. The thinking was OK...but he was so LOUD about it.
  5. OK folks. A number of people have complained that it is sometimes hard to find the member who is selling something in the classifieds. If you clicked their username, it opened up a profile in the classifieds but not the usual member profile. So, I've done some custom programming this evening that will hopefully make it easier for everybody. If you are in the classifieds now and click on the username of the person who posted the ad, it will open up their actual forum profile instead of the pretty much useless profile in the classifieds. I also changed it so that if you click the "contact buyer" link in a classified ad, it opens up the private message screen here on the forum. I tested it and it seems to be working correctly. Sometimes though when I make a change like that, it creates some unexpected changes that show up later. Hopefully it will work as I intend and it will make things better for all. If you notice any problems with it though, please let me know.
  6. Interesting look but starting at over 15,000.00 for a 680CC? Just seems a bit steep to me.
  7. Well, I don't own one but I went to Pioneer with Bongobob one day and they MADE me take one for a test ride. I have to tell you, I am not ready to give up my bike but if I could afford one of those in addition to what I already have, it would be parked in the garage next to the RSV. It was just a LOT of fun.
  8. Well...that certainly makes the decision easy for everybody...looks like Mickey D's it is.
  9. I absolutely do NOT want any kind of Bluetooth helmet or Bluetooth headsets but that actually sounds like a very fair price for anybody who does. Great report and I'm sure that many will appreciate it.
  10. LOL....I must have missed where anybody suggested the death penalty. Make no mistake about it though, it COULD get somebody an involuntary manslaughter charge if it is proven that they were driving recklessly and caused the death of somebody else. I certainly wouldn't suggest such a penalty just for crossing the yellow line but I would say that a very expensive reckless driving citation is not out of order. I mean, he IS in a position to impose the death penalty on somebody else.
  11. Yea...Twigg...I just have to disagree with you 100%. I've ridden the Dragon enough times to know that whether he is going slow or fast, it wouldn't matter at the speeds that I've seen some crotch rockets come around those curves. There is very little chance that he is going to get out of the way in time from the position that he is in. He may be a great guy and maybe he just made a mistake that one time but under the right conditions...and that could be at any time on the dragon...he is in real danger of killing himself and any rider coming around that curve. Yes, riding the dragon can be dangerous. It can be more dangerous because of people pushing the limits and especially those that try to ride just beyond their skill level, and I'll be the first to admit that I have done it to, but it is not worth it when you consider the very high chance of killing or disabling yourself or even worse, somebody else. The Dragon can be fun but it's NOT a closed track. It is a public road and yes, I do think that the fines should be steep when a bike is being ridden in a negligent way that can cause serious harm to others.
  12. Well, I'm glad to hear that you found a good home for it. If you decide to change your name, just let me know what you want it to be and I'll Git 'r done.
  13. Carlos, That is FANTASTIC news. I hope that things continue to improve for you. Just come on...however you have to get here. It will be great to see you again. Geeezzzzzzzzzzz.....the guy is just getting rid of a catheter and you are suggesting a screw turned in the end to make things easier? Then a VACUUM hose to make it longer and easier to work with? Please don't EVER help to offer ME.
  14. I've heard this report a number of times on the newer RK Mufflers. Apparently there is a weld bead or something on the inside that prevents them from sliding on as far as the older ones did. Most have reported getting them on far enough for the mounts to work though.
  15. I'm sure glad you are coming. We missed you here last year. At least I THINK we did. uh...you DID miss last year didn't you? I'm getting too forgetful lately.
  16. I'm not familiar with the plugs/caps that you are talking about but I'm sure that we can help you with them. Just make sure that you bring the caps that you need to install.
  17. By the way, here is another thread that discusses various battery monitors and the battery bug is mentioned. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=578802
  18. I don't know what happened to the link posted before but I THINK this is it. http://wingstuff.com/pgroup_detail/29394_waterproof_motorcycle_accessory_battery_bug
  19. Well, I'm in no way an expert on these things but my thinking is that "within tolerance" does not mean they are the same and that is why they take shims of various thicknesses to get the correct backlash. If they were all the same and the tolerances that exact, then all the shims would be the same also. Yes, if you were to machine the housing on the VMAX drive, it should work. There was somebody here who had done that but I don't remember now who it was.
  20. Yea, I remember looking at that now. Just not something I cared to tackle.
  21. Only if you do some machining. The VMAX drive does not have the hole machined for the speed sensor.
  22. Come on...I KNOW you can remember them if you try. Just memorize 10 per night and in 1,110 days you will have them all. I just wish they were all active. Many just signed up to check things out, some sold their bikes and moved along, etc. In spite of that though, I am very pleased with what we have all built here.
  23. Yes, probably around '99. I don't know when I moved...I THINK it was 2000.
  24. I've never done it. I understand, but don't know for sure, that is takes some special tools to properly set the backlash and etc. Just not something that I wanted to tackle.
  25. At Reunion Arena? It was a good show. We had dinner at the Reunion Tower before the show.
