Last time in Windsor I stayed in the Hilton, right on the Detroit river, nice hotel and supervised parking. It was impressive to look out the window and see the GM World headquarters, Cobo Hall and Joe Louis arena right there across the river. Youre failry close to the gorgeous Casino run by Caesars Palace, and the crossing to go into Detroit , (If youre so inclined). The prices were reasonable and food and beer were good. Brian

An article I wandered across today instead of actually working. It stated that the new wing wont be built for at least a year or 2 so they are in a holding pattern over at Honda as well. http://blog.ridermagazine.com/2010/05/12/new-honda-gold-wing-news/ Brian

I have a collection of plates that started in 1910 , all from Saskatchewan. I have a few duplicates, so I will look through the pile and see what I can come up with. Brian

I wear kevlar jeans that look like they will protect pretty well against road rash with kevlar sewn into the butt, hip and knees. I bought them from Diamond gussett and theyre intended for motorcycle riders the way they are sewn avoids the thick seam in the crotch area that seems to be just in the wrong spot no matter how you sit after youve been on the bike for awhile. And they are cooler than chaps in hot weather and protect better too. http://www.gussetclothing.com/defend.html Brian

Hey Rick, do u insure for the whole year or do you get storage insurance for the 2 or 3 months that you dont ride? I have found that I can get storage insurance for the whole year for 58 bux for about 6k replacement coverage and then pull my road coverage whenever the weather doesnt allow me to ride. In the last 12 months there was only 3 that I didnt ride , but it was still cheaper as my monthly charges are about 70 bux a month for collision and liability. Brian

My 85 trunk looks the same as the trunk on the 86 and up but mine is removable. I have heard that the trunks are interchangeable and I think the reflector on the back is the same as well, BUT I am not 100% on that. I beleive what makes mine removable is the one year only chrom rack under the trunk that allows it to slide off and on and lock. Brian

I picked up a nice chrome trunk guard a while back but the Barons light lenses were all faded out and almost clear, so Ive been trying to find the replacements. Finally, today I managed to track them back to Drag Specialities and ordered the amber for the side lights and red for the back lights for 2.95 us per lens. They also offer the complete new light fixture if yours are rough for about 20 bucks. As Drag SPecialities is a wholesaler, they wouldnt sell so I managed to track down AllJet to take my order online, here is the info. http://shop.alljet.com/productdetail.htm?productId=7724779&catalogId=&searchProducts=2040-0299 Brian

The Garmin Nuvi 750 is on sale at tigerdirect.ca for 149.97 cdn i thought it looked like a good price for a GPS with all the features. It is a refurb, but my current unit is a refurb purchased about 30 months ago and I think it still comes with a 1 yr warranty from Garmin. http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4550952&Sku=G145-0198 Brian

my cheap lil garmin Quest allows me to do that on their laptop software and then just load into the unit. it can be done on the unit as well, but it takes a bit of doing. usually on the bike I just let the gps pick the route, it hasnt steered me wrong yet, and if it was to give me a wrong turn, oh well, its just a longer ride...lol Brian

Rocket tried talking me into that and I had to say no, I just dont think it would look good on an all brown bike with black trim. I like it on Rockets goldie and your goldie but I just couldnt bring myself to paint it white. Brian -
That is one nasty game isnt it? Watching those guys crash into each other makes me cringe every time. Congrats on the Aussie win, mates! Brian

I dont think that there is an easy fix short of doing Dingys lights or making a switch to HID. I have the Silverstar Ultra in mine and while it helps, its still pretty pathetic. The only way I ride at night now is with Squidlys Brackets and a set of lower lights like the PLatinum burners attached to them. I do have Dingys kit and am waiting for the Hella 90 mm modules to come in so I can make the switch on the bike. There is a new 90mm light module available froim Hella now that does both high and Low beam thru one module so it should make for an easier swap for anyone else wanting to do the switch to the hellas.
