I'm in for my 2nd Gen as well. I want to be fair about this so I will wait for the price based on the consensus of sgn......and if we have to pay Kinko's price so be it. Boomer........who's tired of using a telescope to read electrical schematics for his scoot.

I finally figured out the Harley attitude...
BoomerCPO replied to BigBoyinMS's topic in Watering Hole
I recently completed a Patriot Guard Mission and a Harley rider rushed up to tell me that something was leaking from my Venture. When I got to the bike I saw a handful of rice under the bike.........Laffed myself silly of course.....and that threw the Harley riders into laughter as well. Bottom line for me is that I will stop and offer assistance to any biker I see who is on the side of the road and looks to be in trouble.....and yes that includes the 1%'ers as well. If we don't look out for each other in a true fashion of brotherhood then who you think will? Boomer.....who now has a quart of used motor oil in the saddlebag and is gonna have some fun with a few Harley riders.- 60 replies

Many PD's are switching their Motor Officers over to the sport/tour scoots. The Europeans have been riding them for years. The cost of maintenance for these type bikes is much lower too. Boomer.....who's never seen a English MO on a Harley.

Yeah that! I have learned from the MC LEO's here that it is always a good practice to "Dial In" your scoot before hitting the road. This simply means doing easy turning exercises in a large parking lot for about 15 minutes. Working the brakes, throttle, and clutch brings the bike up to full operating temps as well as warming up the tires. I have gotten in the habit of doing this and I notice a great improvement in the bike's handling when I get on the road and throttle up. Boomer........who knows a warmed up scoot can be just as exciting as a warmed up woman.

If the snow melts a bit on the driveway I have been known to give myself a jolt with a cattle prod and slide down to the street buck nekkid hollering "YAHOO". Boomer......who does not advise this for the faint of heart.

My experiences with Tim Horton's here in New England have been at best terrible. Overpriced lousy food, foul tasting coffee, and service which indicates they do not like to see bikers in their establishments. Boomer.....who has no use for their ugly Waitresses as well.

Giving the whole tire a thorough inspection won't hurt either. A small nail can sometimes be overlooked by a casual or rushed inspection. Boomer......who knows them little black carpet tacks are a bugger to spot.

This coming Fri/Sat/Sun......RAIN....and chilly temps to boot. Mother Nature doesn't even kiss ya after she scroos ya in this god-forsaken State. Boomer.....waiting for his Powerball Retirement and a fast move to Texas.

Hey Don.....Are you planning to have a shooting contest for those pond monsters? Boomer........who knows this could give new meaning to the term "shooting the moon".

At that price I can afford to wait for demand to drop and lower prices to kick in. Boomer........waiting for someone to duct tape a couple of big LED flashlights to their front forks and post pics of the same.

Is that the same as scrapple.........??? Boomer.........who's seen some of that stuff crawl right off a plate and mug a poor waitress.

Well no matter how good a shape the Seller says it is yer gonna need parts from Maytag. Boomer........who wonders just how much room they have in the Maytag Museum nowadays.

Folks have been running car tires on the rear of their bikes for years now. Until the tire makers provide MC tires that will get better mileage this practice will not only continue but grow as well. Also by comparison CT's are much cheaper than MC tires and there is just no explaining that huge price difference IMHO. Boomer.....who will be going to the dark side next year for sure.....unless THAT freedom of choice is revoked.

I had purchased the Baron's 1 1/2" riser extenders but did not use them. After Rick Butler did the seat mod for my Venture I realized that my seating and hand placement on the handlebars was perfect. I sold the Baron's to another member here. I have done 800+ mile days with no problems whatsoever thanks to the Butler Seat Mod. Boomer......with over 35K on the scoot and still riding hard.

Oh sure tell us to calm down after posting a thread title like that......sheesh. Boomer......who's gotta wipe up the drool off the durn keyboard now......And I hope ya got the wrong bra size too!!

As long as there is no snow/ice I ride. Stops for warm-ups are more frequent of course. Boomer.....Riding for the Patriot Guard in the US Northeast Region.

My 09 Venture doesn't run right
BoomerCPO replied to midnite's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Biggest problem I had with my 06 was learning to rev it up! Until I started doing that the scoot ran like a slug. Now I hardly ever see 5th gear because I don't want to bust the darn speedo. Boomer.....who sez roll on that throttle after ya make sure the carbs are synched and all coils are firing.- 19 replies

Amen to that statement!!! They say it takes 2 to make a marriage work but the percentage is normally 80% effort from the man and 20% effort from the woman.....after she gets done shopping of course. Boomer........who knows the truth when he reads it.....and knows most wimmen will never admit to the stats posted.

Good luck with the surgery and I hope you heal well and fast! Boomer.....who thinks you should have that brace airbrushed to look like a nekkid woman.

BTDT with those Dunlop 404's.............And I would rather sell the bike than put those tires on again. After you crash and burn is not the time to realize that when you cut corners to save a few dollars you really did not save much! Boomer........who's with V7 Goose all the way on this one.

For me it don't matter what the details of the accident are or what the injuries are....if I am in the wrong I will darn well own up to it no matter what it costs me. The principles that I live by can't be bought, sold,or compromised if I have anything to say about it. Yes I know our Legal System in not the best but that does not mean I have to compromise myself for the sake of money or anything I own. That's my story and I'm sticking with it. Your mileage may vary. LOL! Boomer......who might be the only honest/ethical man in the Courtroom and darn proud of it.
-
True.....But if I was at fault in a accident I would own up to it and not try to put the fault on someone else. Boomer.....who was raised to be honest and likes it that way.

Watching that video and the quality of it got me to thinking..... If we all had those video cams on our bikes I'll bet it would certainly help our case in a Court after suffering an accident by some stupid Cager. Any Legal Beagles out there care to offer free Legal advice on this? Boomer.......waiting for the verdict.

I'm Back--Did Ya Miss Me?................
BoomerCPO replied to Aussie Annie's topic in Watering Hole
Silly girl....Of course you were missed! Don't you know that the best cure for most sickness is time on the scoot? Boomer......who for years thought "Down Under" meant getting under nice blankets......
