    I would do a coil check. Lost my #3 coil last year and didn't even know it! I run high rev's on the scoot mostly and hardly ever get into 5th gear. Amazing that these Ventures can run well on just 3 cylinders! Boomer........who does not always run on all cylinders himself.

    Within minutes the Raffle Drawing was held....Lo and behold Boomer held the winning ticket.....and the 1st Prize was a Dinner/Evening with Dolly. Having claimed his prize Boomer told Elvis to take a hike; bought a round of drinks for all; loaded Dolly on the back of his Venture and rode off into the sunset.....singing "Mamma Don't Let Your Babies Be Cowboys"...........

    I stand corrected......Just called my Service Tech and had him check the books. Freebird is correct in that the steering head bearings are NOT sealed. I know my bearings are good on my Venture so I'll wait until the really cold weather is on us before I have this maintenance action performed. Sorry for posting wrong info.....Good catch there Freebird!!! Boomer.......who's gonna stick to giving advice about drinking,wimmen,and cathouse operations.

    My Service Tech says it is not necessary as these are sealed bearings and unless you notice a marked difference in the way the scoot handles then leave them alone. Slight adjustments ie; tightening can be done ......and there is info in the Tech Section here which will show you just how to do that. Boomer......who knows you can spend a fortune fixing things that are not broke.....and my wife is the perfect example of this practice. Note: My comments do not apply to the swingarm bearings.

    Garmin makes the best GPS mounts IMHO. If you have a Garmin GPS those folks will bend over backwards to help you out. Boomer.....who never leaves home without his Garmin and American Express.

    A tank ful of BAD gas is all I can think of. Drain the whole tank,re-fill with fresh gas,and slap a whole can of SeaFoam in the tank......then drive it like ya stole it for the 150 miles. Doing this is a LOT easier than pulling those carbs. Boomer.....who's been down THAT fuel issue road before.

    What is the possibility of using a 2nd fuel petcock on a 2nd Gen to get full utilization of that big old gas tank? Boomer.....who's thinking out loud here.

    I'd be kinda leery about doing something like that just prior to doing a road trip. Boomer......who has not heard a lot of good things about oil additives.

    Well to each his own poison my man. Every brand of Scotch I ever tried gave me nothing but 3 days worth of the "trots" and a serious rash in a place where the sun don't shine. Boomer.....who don't know too much about palate but is pretty good about using and breaking plates.
