  1. Stay on that diet.....
  2. I've never seen cast aluminum 'warp'. Crack...yes, but not warp. Pull the filter cover off and look to see exactely you're dealing with. It might be nothing more than a cracked cover?? The spin-on adaptor is a good idea....
  3. I'm also #350 and run my rear shock at #72psi, and the front at #17psi. The only year Y made the rotating choke was '84. '83&'85-'93 all had the slider. If I remember correctly I felt an indent when setting the choke on my '84 but it's raining and I'm not going to go find out... . The choke's not worn out, but somewhere in the linkage it may be loose and need to be tightened up....
  4. You bring up a good point Jeff..... Maybe this will help a little more on the properties of Delrin. I'd be interested in what temp. readings you come up with off your bike. Thermal Heat Deflection Temperature @ 66 psi D648 °F 336 Heat Deflection Temperature @ 264 psi D648 °F 257 Coefficient of Linear Thermal Expansion D696 in/in/°F 6.8 x 10^-5 Maximum Servicing Temperature, Intermittent °F 300 Maximum Servicing Temperature, Long Term UL746B °F 185 Specific Heat BTU/lb-°F 0.35 Thermal Conductivity – Melting Point D2133 °F 347 Flammability UL94 HB (1.47)
  5. Glad to hear you made it out alive......
  6. Yeah, I guess I need to do a little more eyeballin' to see what it'll take and go from there. There may not be an easy way to do it, and I don't really want to get into a big project. It would just end up on a pile with the rest of them..... Especialy since the '99 is more of a priority than the '91....
  7. If I remember correctly the MAC's have a welded on header extensiion, and from the pics I've seen the Jardines don't look like there's a weld between the body and the header extension.. Maybe??
  8. I've always wanted a watch goose.....
  9. It's very easy to forget it's there on a long piece of slab.... Try not to...
  10. What would happen if we only replaced the easy2get2 motormounts??? Would there be any improvement in handling, or a waste of time??? Say a set of 4 delrins. 2 fronts and the 2 in the middle??
  11. It lays over a bit but it doesn't effect the towing, and I don't feel a thing when running the twisties.... I think you'd have the same situation with a coupler not staying horizontal after running thru a few curves even though the ball is upright.
  12. This may be what you're looking for Bob....
  13. Which warning light.....???
  14. I've only sat threw one of these 'grinder' presentations down in Puerta Vallarta MX. We had a free afternoon and didn't have anything better to do. We had no intention of buying a time share, but it was intertaining, and the rewards were pretty good. Free 'all-u-can-eat' poolside gormet breakfast, and half off any tour the resort offered. So when they finally gave up on us I signed up for the most expensive tour they had. $55 bucks for an all day catamarin dive/cruise, complementry horses duvers, drinks, and swim/lunch at Chi's Chi's a cliff hanging resturant. So I felt we came out the winners. Would I do it again? You bet if the rewards are good enough.... Would I ever buy a time share? He!! no.....

I think the 4 is for the 96-97 Royal Star, and the 5 is for the Venture... The pic below shows for 99-2000 as it's an old doc I ripped off Ebay.... http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-1300-DYNATEK-DYNA-3000-Digital-Performance-Ignition-/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/$(KGrHqJHJCQE9qvQ6vpoBPgO9HikEw~~60_58.JPG
  16. Delrin is pretty tough stuff. Harken a marine equipment manufacture uses Delrin ball bearings in their blocks, and some of them are rated up to 5000lbs. You should get the same effect as those made out of aluminum, and galvanic corrosion might not be an issue...
  17. Isn't it amazing how much bigger they get when laying on their side????
  18. The only way to properly fix that side cover is replace it. Weld it and it'll most likely warp and leak. Patch it and eventually the patch will let loose. Clutch covers turn up on Ebay throughout the riding season, and don't bring a whole lot of money because there isn't a big demand for them.... Just be patient... I'd patch for now and plan on doing the replacement ASAP....
  19. I love my Rivco center stand..... From the pics the side stand should come right off after the lock nut on the back side is taken off??
  20. NUVI external speaker cable to the Aux plug on a 2ndGen.....???
  21. There are a lot of air cooled outboards out there. What's he got to say about that.... I also use it in my weedeater and chainsaw.... So far so good.....
  22. Could a couple of shift pins have fallen out when the bike was on it's side??? Just wondering.....
  23. Remove the 3 piece windshield trim, and windshield. You can get to the phillips head screws holding the dash cover on thru the front turn signals. That should give you enough room to mess around with the back of the speedo... However if you need to replace the speedo cable undo it down at the axle and the cable will slide right out.
  24. What....
