  1. I did mine as a preventative last year, why wait until it acts up.............
  2. You can probably wrench better than Rick (not that it takes much), now to get your riding practice in............. Enjoy putting in the miles, riding a scoot, yourself.........
  3. I just wonder if your interface cables have poor connections to the amp, or could be due to be replaced. Those can still bought new for about $51.00 USD here (they will ship USPS too). http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.asp?prod=JM%2DYV%2D41
  4. I just checked & front right is interchangeable with the rear, according to the online listing.
  5. It is a vent tube for the air box, connects to the left front corner area.
  6. :rotf::rotf:

Or powder coat as another had done, http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17514
  10. Relocating that washer, to just under the nut locking tab will work wonders, for the clutch operation.
  11. Glad you got it done, fairly quickly after your visit.

  13. I didn't even finish saying it before impact with the deer & this was summertime on the scoot, going on 2 years ago now.................
  14. Guess it will need a couple of mods done, better battery cables & driving light brackets. But are the brackets still available???? I know the cables are........... Have fun with it............. :thumbsup2:
  15. So where is the ferris wheel, that ride in the pics is not round.....................
  16. H4 for the headlight & usually H3 on the driving lights.
  17. Here is another source for parts, aside from Yamaha, I had to go there for my fork bushings as the bushing for the fork tube was not listed separately in the 83 Yamaha parts listings. http://www.racetech.com/evalving/english/Srchpr.asp?bikeid=497&manufacture=Yamaha&model=XVZ1300+Venture&year=87%2D91&TABLEINFO=street&langname=english If someone needs to replace the upper fork tubes, here is a good source for new ones, it was about $245 for a pair on my 83 Vs about $200. each from Yamaha http://www.frankmain.qpg.com/
  18. On the early model VR this was an option, if you look at the top of the amp (under the rubber cover). You will see the cassette din plug, 2@din jacks for intercom (5 pin) & a din jack for an optional cb radio too. If the intercom interface cables are on the bike, great, but if not, they are still listed here (here is the link to the kit needed) http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.asp?prod=JM%2DYV%2D41 They are great to deal with, will ship USPS too.
  19. You going to use the snowblower to access your shed & get the scoots out???? Or are you going to wait, for your FIX. I had sent Gord an Email for a reminder, after getting back here, to make sure he remembered. Rick, you will be in Red Deer the wrong weekend , the bike swap & shop is on 6th of April....
  20. You may even attract some of the BC crowd too.
  21. Bob, maybe you should do what noddy had done, for me to get at his scoot, for the fork seals. He used a snowblower in the back yard, to clear a path to his shed & around the door openings.
  22. Got out on a bike yesterday afternoon, not mine though (still waiting a couple of parts). I want to change out steering neck bearings, so front end is mostly apart. So I got out on a friends 750 Maxim, he asked me if I wanted a fix & tossed me the keys, when I went to his place to start working on the scoot. It was only a short ride (about 10 miles), but I got some work done to the scoot, as well. The parking lot at the barracks is still covered in ice, there has been some flurries this week, but melted the same days. So things are starting to look up condition wise around here........
  23. Sent you a Paypal for 4 patches, a few minutes ago Don.
  24. Maybe during one of those, someone can get a pond video feed setup done. We may eventually be able to ID the pond monster, as something other than the riding lawnmower going for another swim....... :stirthepot:
  25. Great to hear.............:thumbsup2:
