  1. I am no guru but rather just thinking out loud... Could you tie the audio into the CB plug on the amp and use something like a opamp to trigger the 6 volts to mute the radio? Scotty
  2. My daughter is a type 1. It dose not seem to slow her down at all. She checks her blood before she rides or drives and all is good. Scotty
  3. Its OK, according to canadian intel documents, (found in every smarties box) the war has been called off! Newfoundland declares war on the U.S.A. President Barack Obama was in the Oval Office when his telephone rang. "Hallo, President Obama " a heavily accented voice said. "This is Archie, up ere at the Harp Seal Pub in Badger's Cove , Newfoundland , Canada , eh? I am callin' to tells ya dat we are officially declaring war on ya!" "Well Archie," Barack replied, "This is indeed important news ! How big is your army ?" "Right now," said Archie, after a moments calculation "there is myself, me cousin Harold , me next-door-neighbor Mick, and the whole dart team from the pub. That makes eight!" Barack paused. "I must tell you Archie that I have one million men in my army waiting to move on my command." "Wow," said Archie. "I'll have ta call ya back!" Sure enough, the next day, Archie called again. " Mr. Obama , the war is still on! We have managed to acquire some infantry equipment!" "And what equipment would that be Archie?" Barack asked. "Well sir, we have two combines, a bulldozer, and Harry 's farm tractor." President Obama sighed. "I must tell you Archie, that I have 16,000 tanks and 14,000 armored personnel carriers. Also I've increased my army to one and a half million since we last spoke." "Lord above", said Archie, "I'll be getting back to ya." Sure enough, Archie rang again the next day.. " President Obama , the war is still on! We have managed to git ourselves airborne! We up an' modified Harrigan's ultra-light wit a couple of shotguns in the cockpit, and four boys from the Legion have joined us as well!" Barack was silent for a minute then cleared his throat. "I must tell you Archie that I have 10,000 bombers and 20,000 fighter planes. My military complex is surrounded by laser-guided, surface-to-air missile sites. And since we last spoke, I've increased my army to TWO MILLION!" "Jumpins," said Archie, "l'll have ta call youse back." Sure enough, Archie called again the next day. " President Obama ! I am sorry to have to tell you dat we have had to call off dis 'ere war." "I'm sorry to hear that" said Barack . "Why the sudden change of heart?" Well, sir," said Archie, "we've all sat ourselves down and had a long chat over a bunch of pints, and come to realize dat dere's no way we can feed two million prisoners.." CANADIAN CONFIDENCE CANNOT BE SHAKEN :canada:
  4. actually....yes. Seating, handling, etc. are all very comparable. Performance may be a bit better but certainly nothing to write home about. But then again, I am comparing it to a first gen. So it is a lot like a first gen with EFI, ABS and an awesome set of headlights. Scotty
  5. This is a hard question with no easy answers. I have two girls and a boy, currently 18, 15, and 12 respectively. Ridding has always been available here, as I still had my 100 enduro and my 250 yamaha exciter (I got my licence on this bike when I was 16). I find it interesting that the oldest daughter didn't care for dirt bike but wanted the 250 street bike. She did wear ruts in the pasture and lake bottom on the dirt bike before she was allowed to ride the 250 as it was part of my program. Last year she rode on a learners permit and will be trying for her licence this spring. As far as the boy, It would appear that the grass in the pasture doesn't stand a chance. My 15 year old daughter (who jumps at the chance to ride with me) has no interest in riding a bike by herself... but loves her horse. FWIW recreational horse ridding is waaay more dangerous than motorcycling. ATGATT applies to both horse and bike, Without exception, for both kids and parents. So I allow them to ride whatever their passion is, make it as safe as possible, worry like heck and pray for the best. As far as the right answer goes... if I had all the answers I wouldn't have to work for a living! Scotty
  6. Torque is a twisting force. Speed is not a factor. An example is a torque wrench. Rotating speed is measured in RPM. Horsepower is (rpm x torque) divided by 5252 Horse power is what makes you go. So if you had 1000 lbft of torque and 0 RPM you have 0 horse power and you aint gonna get anywhere. Dose it make sense?
  7. I drive a gravel eating, pot hole stopping, snowbank plowing dodge Mini van Unless its the daughters grad, then we take the 'war wagon'

  9. except for a GW... Hmmm, if I remember correctly...
  10. well here is one that is very local. "The graders are winging up!" Out in the country they use graders to plow the snow off the gravel roads. The graders have a 6 foot blade attached to the right side called a 'wing', used to push the snow back into the ditch. When you get a lot of snow the grader can't push the snow out any more so they raise the wing up and push it up and over the snow bank. Basically it means the snow banks on the side of the road are in excess of 6 feet high. Its been a few years since they have been winging up around here.
  11. I hate to burst your bubble, but Banff is not in BC. As punishment for your geographical inaccuracies you will have to try again next summer so you can figure out where you went wrong.
  12. me and my navigator. She tells me where to go and how to get there.
  13. I got my wife a command start, so I have to out and install that. She got me genuine honda LED fog lights:cool10:. So I have to out and install that. Hmmmmm, I think I just got a bunch of work for christmas. The next question is which project do I do first?
  14. Ya, sure, go ahead, rub it in! A demo of our weather this morning.:cold: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfa3dSVUoUc]YouTube- propane experamenting[/ame]
  15. I get to ride all year:cool10: However, several months are confined to laps around the garage. Corners are sharp, never get out of low gear, scenery keeps repeating.
  16. Congrats on the new scoot! Remember we need pics! The only problem is, for the next few months you will going out to the garage to..umm..check the radio, ya thats it making sure the radio still works. (a good stereo at sufficient volume will mask vroom vroom nioses)
  17. I found myself a cheap indoor outdoor thermometer and used velcro to stick it on the dash. I ran the outdoor probe into the right hand air duct. If its a very calm day there can be as much as 3 degrees difference between indoor temp and outdoor temp. A windy day very little difference. It is a great tool for watching for ice if the temp is below zero.
  18. I chose the shuffle for these reasons. 1) large play button - can be operated with a glove 2) No display menu or other fancy stuff to get it to play - minimal distraction 3) Battery lasts as long on pause as off - press pause and walk away 4) Reasonably priced - I'm a cheapskate 5) Size - I made it fit under the cassette door It seems to work reasonably well for what I want it to do.

  20. There was an incident in this area this spring with a police car doing a u turn. Results were also sad. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/edmonton/story/2009/05/05/edmonton-officer-killed.html
  21. I bought my 84 with 80000Km on it 2 1/2 years ago. It shows 20000Km now. I think age will get them before milage will. having said that, I gotta admit, it has stood up well for a 26 year old vehicle of any kind.
  22. I'm going to try to make it this time, but with family stuff some times it gets hard. I want to see if I can find this road again. If it takes me a couple of days of floating around that area.....Oh darn! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3MslqWo3LE]YouTube- hyway 6[/ame]
  23. Waaaaay faster than I want to ride it!!
  24. A nerdy wave consists of smacking the inside of the window of the mini van with your left hand.
