  1. My '83 Royale has the typical rusted-out tip on the left muffler. I read some of the previous postings concerning Jardine and Mac mufflers. If they aren't being made anymore (as was indicated in one post), are there other options? Thanks
  2. If anyone needs new mufflers for their G1 Venture, (at least I think these are for a G1), they should try Niche Cycle. According to their website it looks like they still have MAC turn downs in stock. I was under the impression that there wasnt any mufflers being made any longer for the G1 bikes so this might be a good opportunity if your pipes are getting worn. I dont know anything about this company, I just looked at the website, so check them out before ordering, and make sure that they are for the G1 bike, not the G2. http://www.nichecycle.com/ProductDesc.aspx?code=004-4315&type=0&eq=&desc=Yamaha-Venture-Turn-Down-Mufflers Brian
  3. For any of you using a Mac or even some Mac programs. Just something to be aware of. http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2012/02/04/apple-releases-major-security-update-for-os-x/?intcmp=features
  4. I got my hands on an old emac 6.4 computer running OSX 10.4.11 that I want to set up for a 5 year old and I'm having a hard time finding educational software that will run on this old platform. If anyone has software for an old Mac OS gathering dust in a box somewhere I'd be interested in it. Thanks for looking.
  5. My son, who works for Apple as an EXPERT/asst. manager, told me that my i mac will not allow ANY mal-ware or virus to affect my machine. having made that statement, i am asking , "Is he correct"? if so, then would it be safe to down load bit torrents? any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. just jt:confused24:

    New imac

Not getting much forum reading done, to busy playing with a new imac. Just purchased at Bestbuy and wow this thing is fast. My old computer crapped out again and I went looking for something cheap and since I was already considering a mac, let the salesman talk me into it. So far I realy like, still learning though.
  7. Hey there, my mufflers on my 86 Venture are rusting out... anybody have a good set of used ones for sale?.... I noticed from searching this site that there was a group buy of Mac mufflers a while ago. I went to the Mac website and they do not show any parts available. Any advice on where to get a new slip on set-up if I can't find a used set? thanks for any help Gary
  8. I received a call from MAC today telling me that they had 3 sets of mufflers available. If anyone's interested, the price to your doorstep in the US is $295. Canada is about $10 bucks more. The MSRP is $329 plus shipping. PM me if you'd like to pick up a set.
  9. I finally got around to putting on the Mac Mufflers. They look good and sound too good. The spacing at the front clamp is too loose. Mac is too big and/or male bike pipe is too small. (please, no comments) What is the best way to rectify this? I'm sure it is simple if you know what you are doing. And that is the reason I am asking. Iowa Guy
  10. Ok - How many have installed their MAC mufflers? I got mine with the last group purchase. They came in pre-rusted for me. Condor got them sent back for another set. The second set won't hang correctly. I had to die grind one slot (left) to get vertical alignment. It needed to go up. Would have rather ground the right to go down but there would not have been a slot left! Now as I look, the left muffler sticks out from under the bumper about an inch. The right is recessed under about the same. Maybe I am too picky. However I notice it when I look at the rear of the bike. Anyone else encounter problems or am I looking crooked? The stock mufflers fit perfect, I put them back on just to measure!! JB
  11. We now have the 10 members interested in picking up a set of MAC's so it's a go. I'll give it another week for anyone else that would like to join in, and then start asking for the funds. Money can be sent via Paypal to our account email address paypal@cast-aways.com, or check mailed to Cast-Aways, p.o. box 8, Carmichael Ca 95609-0008. Once we get the funds together I'll place the order. So be patient and good things will happen.... OK, I heard back from MAC and the group pricing will be the same. To make things easy it'll be $225 sitting on your doorstep.... unless you live north of the boarder, then It's $235. The break out is $195 plus shipping. So if anyone would like to get in on this go-around's list of 10 feel free to chime in. Also if paying by Paypal an extra $5 bucks to cover paypal charges would be appreciated... From all the reports I got back from the first group of ten we hit a home run..... This groups list. #1 matt73ander....paid #2 Cdnlouie....paid #3 TJON....paid #4 Gentleman George....paid #5 IH TRUCK GUY....paid #6 Vicco27....paid #7 Backroads....paid #8 Richard....paid #9 PEIslander....paid #10 kbert777...... paid #11 86er....paid
  12. IMPORTANT For all of those who purchased sets of MAC Mufflers this last time around please open them as soon as you get your shipments. Richard opened his and found that both mufflers were for the right side. Someone out there has two lefts, and we need to get this straightened out. There must have been a mix up at the factory when boxing them up. If you do find a pair of lefts drop me a PM. We need to get this problem squared away. ~CONDOR~ PS: I just called MAC and they only built 10 sets to order, so one of us has a box with two lefts in it. BTW: the left side has the extra tang up front for the center stand rubber bumper. The right side has the one for the frame mount only.
  13. I have a 1988 Venture Royale with MAC exhaust. Should the centre stand fold and lock in place properly with this exhaust? I notice the original factory exhaust is notched to allow for the stand to clear.....the MAC exhaust isn't. It appears my centre stand foot actuator bar/pedal has been reworked to allow clearance around the exhaust.....but it lacks proper spring tension and there is nothing to lock it tight. With poor spring tension it seems to bounce up and down easily. I have presently tie wrapped it to hold it secure. Please comment or give me direction on this. Thanks. rez
  14. OK, I thought I'd post this AVI bite of what the MAC's sound like on my '83. It's a little better than the first. I was originally looking at Sept. as a date to start another list, but figured what the heck. So if anyone want's to be added, and we get another group put together, I'll put in another order when we hit the magic number of 10 or more.... I'll have to check with MAC on pricing since it's been a while and edit this post with the details. See below....
