  1. I found a really good deal on some motorcycle luggage, if anyone is interested. I first saw this particular piece at my local bike shop, and really liked it's quality and features. The luggage is EMGO and the model is called the BUFFALO BAG, at least that is what it is called in their catalog. Here is a picture. http://www.motorcyclepartsandapparel.com/emgo-deluxe-backrest-bag-set.html The bag is 2 parts that hook together, to give you tons of room. Also they come with a vinyl cover that is big enough for both pieces. At the shop, they were on sale for $159.00 (CDN) That page has it on for $129.00 I believe the bag is worth that much. At least it is to me. Now, here is the thing. I have found a full case of these bags (5 complete sets) for $160.00 That is right, $32 a piece if I buy all 5. Plus shipping of course. If there are any members in the Upstate NY, or southern Ontario area, that might be interested, let me know. I will front the $$ to get them. And will gladly meet up with you guys to get you yours. I will assume we split the costs 5 ways, I am not looking to make a penny on this deal. The bags are good qual, if you want to see one, and are near Hamilton, they have them at Kelly's cycle. I am not sure if these would suit the Venture crowd, but if you know someone with a sissy bar on their bike, who could use some luggage room when traveling. I also believe, that when off the bike, there are shoulder straps as well as handles for carrying these bags. Pass this on. If no one is interested, I will just buy 1 of these from the supplier, still a great deal. I am even willing to ship these bags, but of course, the additional shipping will be on you. Just tossing this out there. Please contact me via PM, email, phone (905) 929-2237, carrier pigeon, smoke signals or telegram Sonny EDIT This is from the EMGO website Features a two-piece pack system that fits on most luggage racks and sissy bars. Each large backpack comes with mesh side pockets, a roll bag, a cargo net, and a removable vinyl liner that is waterproof and fits easily into the roll bag. If you go to the EMGO website, and clic on catalogs, this luggage is on page 3.50 and is model number 72-32468 I just want to be clear which bags these are. Hope some of you might be interested. I know they are designed for sissy bars, but I am sure they would fit into trunks as well.
  2. If anyone is willing to send it up north (Canada) I would really like to see it as well. This was a great idea! Cheers.
  3. I am not sure how to embed this video, so I will just link to it. http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/771540/
  4. Last Friday, I got together with Rob and Charlie in Mississauga, and did my 2nd oil change, and synch'd my carbs. With the oil, we changed both oil and filter. I put in the Yamalube 20/50. The 3 of us checked the oil level, started the bike ran it, let the oil settle and left it at halfway on the sight glass. Very strange, I checked the level today with the bike level again, and now the oil is full on the sight glass. We put in 3.2 litres, as an estimate from the jug. Where the heck did the extra oil come from? We fully drained the crankcase, and removed filter. I don't see any oil dripping, but how could it be more full without adding any oil? Just one of those unexplained mysteries I guess.
  5. I think Las Vegas!! Vegas is just a party town, and there is great riding in the area as well. Both the grand canyon and Brice Canyon are within a day. Just my suggestion
  6. If the manager signed off on the lower price, does that not make it a binding contract?
  7. does not play, looks like you linked to a file in your personal email box, we would have to log into your account. Try to download the file, or link to the original file location on the net. Good luck!
  8. I just got delivery of my saddlebag liners from TCL Products. They are fantastic. Perfect fit, free embroidery, fast delivery to Canada. No tax or duty collected. You can find on eBay very easily. Can't wait to go somewhere now!
  9. I am glad you are ok. So, just curious, if you could go back to before your test-ride, and put some more substantial motorcycling attire on, would you? If you knew you were about to have the same accident that you had, would you wear proper gear? I am just curious. I am very happy that your injuries were not more severe. I am also sorry about the damage to your machine. I hope you heal up fast, and completely, and best of luck with the upcoming search for parts. Sonny
  10. I was a smoker for 20 years, I quit February 2007. I had tried Zyban, patches and the gum, nothing worked. Then I heard about a book, called "Easy way to Quit Smoking" by Allan Carr. That worked perfectly. Yes, I read a book, and quit. Sounds crazy, I know it does, because I could not believe it either. After I quit, I have bought that book for 9 people I care about, 8 have quit, 1 did not read the book. I do not miss smoking at all. So congratulations on your new life.
  11. Never heard of it, but it looks to be a good product. I wonder if it affects balance, and if it hardens, does it affect handling?
  12. Just got my suspension pump today, thanks Lateralvibe!! It seems to work fantastic, I only put about 12 psi in the rear shock, just to see how I like it. Thanks for helping me out. 3 cheers for lateralvibe!
  13. First off I want to say how tragic that accident was. Seeing a biker, any biker go down for any reason is very sad. Having said that, I also believe those particular bikers were travelling WAYYYYY too fast for the type of road they are on. If you look at the recording bikes speedometer, it is about 130 at the time of impact, in a corner. So there could easily have been a stalled or broken down car around that bend. Driving faster than you can see, or brake is a bad idea. I am NOT saying that it was the bikers fault, that deer could have jumped right on top of him, still giving him no time to react. But at what has to be at LEAST 3 X the speed limit, into a corner you can't see around, is putting yourself in danger. Sport bikes are loads of fun, but keep em on the track where they belong, and are designed for. Just my 2 cents, no refunds. And just to be clear, I am NOT saying he deserved it, nor that I am happy to see it happen. (before the flames start)
  14. After numerous delays, 2 LED brake light boards and 1 clear lens arrived earlier today. I ordered 1 for Dragerman, so to save on shipping. I also ordered the clear lens, as I always thought the red lens between 2 clear lenses, looked..well..out of place. The install was super easy, took old red lens off, removed bulb, installed LED brake light board bulb base, and keyed on. First problem. Out of 32 LED's on the board, 4 were non-functioning. To be sure, I checked with brake applied as well, same 4 non functioning. So, I opened the second board, to check it as well, it was fine. Called treestump, and emailed the pics that I attached here as well. Got a quick call back, and treestump said he was mailing a new one out right away, and asked that I return the other one. The bulbs took a really long time to arrive, I ordered about 3 weeks ago. I was kept informed along the way, treestump had some delays out of their control. I got the call the items shipped from BC, on Monday, arrived on Thurs, not bad. The lights really do look super bright, and I will let you know how I like them. With the clear lens, they look sharp. The 1 issue I do wonder about with the new set up, is the low visibility from the side. I do understand that brake lights are mostly seen from the rear, and from that angle, there is TONS of brightness, hard to believe anyone could possibly miss them. but from the side, there is almost no visible light. I will have to get some feedback after some rides with friends to see what they think. The lights I got were RADIANTZ, the same referenced earlier in this post. On another note, do you think I am out of line to ask for a refund of the shipping cost to send back the defective unit? My thinking is, I paid for the items, since they are defective, should the vendor pay for return shipping? I have never had to ship anything back, anytime I have had issues, I was always told to keep or dispose of the defective item, and a replacement has been sent. Thanks for the input.. Sonny
  15. As a new guy here myself, I found this information thanks to Freebird a while ago. Hope it is helpful. Enjoy! http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=497
  16. Here is a video of a biker hitting a deer, possibly not what you are expecting. 17. Just a thought, if you don't like what the dealer is offering you, sell it yourself. Advertise it ($$) continue to insure it while you wait for it to sell ($$) be available to show it (TIME & $$) And be prepared to deal with your "customers" who want to pay as little as possible (as you do). Try eBay, see what kind of $$ people offer you there.
  18. That bike is sexy! My ultimate touring bike has always been a gold wing. Did you get the cappucino maker option?
  19. Sorry I missed it, kinda slept in
  20. I am planning on being there, just trying to round up some people to come with. Not sure I can stay the whole trip, but at least part of it. I am trying to bring some friends, and I assume they will be welcome too. See ya all tomorrow! Sonny
  21. Being a new owner of an RSTD, I would have loved to attend this event, however I will be in Las Vegas for WSOP. I hope everyone makes this event a total success!
  22. Well, I finally got to meet my first 2 forum members yesterday. After having spoken on the telephone a number of times, I finally got to meet dragerman and ummm dangit, I forgot his forum name, but Rob was there too! I decided to cut my lawns for the first time, the dirty looks from my neighbors were starting to get to me, so I fired up my lawnmower on one of the nicest days so far this year. Well after cutting the front, I decided to skip the back (who is looking in my backyard anyways?) and go for a ride. I called Charlie, and he was meeting up with Rob to do some work on the bike, but after some discussion decided to come riding, and Rob joined us as well. We met up in Milton, chatted for a while, looked at each others bikes, then hit the road for a quick trip to a little out of the way bakery, that I swear has the best sandwiches around. The ride was nice, short, but great company. Except for the numnuts kid who just had to squeeze between us, and ride up my ass, but I digress... It was really cool to meet some new riding buddies. We even met a Harley guy, who was out riding by himself (his Harley riding buddies were out buying oil, or fixing something) So I invited him to sit with us, and hang out for a bit. I had to bail, since I was working last night (hence the latenight post) and took my leave of Charlie and Rob. I hope to meet up with more of you at Carls on the 24th, and "maybe" even in Ohio, next month. Sorry no pictures this time, but next time for sure. Oh and if any local riders are going to the Yamaha Demo Ride later today (May 16) at Flamborough downs, look me up, I will be there promoting the B.E.A.T Cancer ride at the event. Cheers! Sonny
  23. I fully agree with cmiles, polarized lenses make a world of difference. And I do believe they are the safest option. Reducing glare on a bright day, with the sun bouncing off all the chrome pieces on cars and bikes, stops you from squinting. Giving you full field of vision. Just an opinion. Sonny
  24. Lateralvibe, I have responded to all of your emails, and sent you a PM as well. I am not sure why you are not getting them. I do want the pump, and I just need to know how much shipping is to Hamilton, Ontario Canada. My postal code is L8W 2Z5. Thanks for your time. Sonny
