  1. A few weeks ago, I asked for your prayers for an unnamed member. Well that member is our own one and only Black Owl and he is still in need or our prayers. Russell was admitted to the hospital before Christmas with complications from pneumonia. Things got really bad and to be honest, a lot worse than he really wanted anybody to know. He is doing better now but is still hospitalized and has a ways to go. Please continue to keep him in your prayers.
  2. He traded his venture in on a Polaris ranger... but said as soon as he recovered he was buying a SuperTenure..He looked good,, but said he had good days & bad days..please continue to pray for Big Bird & his family..
  3. I have to raise the price of the BuddyRich cable to 50 dollars. I have enough parts to do another 20 cables then after that it questionable if I will be able to continue . I use a specific transformer in the circuit and about six months ago radio shack stopped carrying it. That transformer is why you can talk at 80mph and the other person can't even tell your on a bike .So if you have been sitting on the fence about getting one of these you may want to go ahead and get one. It maybe up to three weeks after you order before I can get it out to you if I get a bunch of orders. If I can find a new source for my parts I may continue to make them. If so I'll update this post.. Thanks everyone. I really never made a dime off them but it was fun having something that only VR.org could offer to its members. ( I think that's the only reason Don let me hang around so long)
  4. I've attached a couple of pictures of 2 chrome bubbles on my chrome front fender extension. Was wondering if I should just leave it or to take a razor blade and slice it then put some finger nail polish on it. Or maybe some other suggestion. What causes chrome bubbles and do they continue to grow?
  5. Have a update on Ponch? I keep checking here daily and hoping for more good news. Boomer....who sez the prayers and good thoughts continue.
  6. Today marks my 32nd year of being lucky enough to be married to my lovely wife (and navigator), Belinda. Don't know how she has put up with me this long (I am TRULY a work in progress!)...but I sure hope she will stick with me at least another 32 so we can continue in the journey!
  7. I bought my 06 RSTD new in July 06, and just turned 50K on the odometer. I swear it rides and runs just as good or better than it did on day one. Any ideas on how long one of these will continue to go before they are no longer reliable? I'm crazy when it comes to maintenance, changing the oil every 2K. All other maintenance "by the book". Cosmetically it looks like new. I love this bike, and want to keep it as long as practical. But, I want to continue to feel safe taking it for long road trips. Thoughts?
  8. I think they felt sorry for an old man but this evening I passed my black belt test in Tae kwon do chung do kwon,I plan to continue on in that and also started in a hapkiddo class.
  9. With the upcoming Holiday weekend coming up I would like everyone to take some time out and think about why we have this Holiday…. This Monday we honor those who paid the ultimate price to allow us to continue to do the things we all love to do in this country… My God bless those Men and Women who went before us…
  10. My account has been down for at least a week with the following message I get at login, I cant do anything except get this message. Member here has PM'd for my pics of progressive fork rebuild-linked to photobucket, and doesn't work. There are 71 pics I had on photobucket. Still have on PC, dont think I can PM 71 pics, and likely limit on #pics/email. Any suggestions on another photohosting site? Any ideas what problem is with photobucket and if likely be restored or pics lost? Brian Photobucket Site Maintenance http://pic.photobucket.com/logos/PbLogo.350.gif New Maintenance Update Photobucket customers, Let me begin by once again expressing my apologies for the issues you have been experiencing, and for the delay in restoring service. We continue to work diligently to resolve the problems and would like to keep you up-to-date on how things are going. The vast majority of you that were impacted should now or very soon notice that your accounts and images are back up again. However, not every user has been restored to service; we still are working to restore less than 1% (0.25%) of our user base. If your account is still not working, please be assured that we know about it and continue to work toward fully restoring service for all users as quickly as possible. We will continue to provide updates as they occur. We hear your frustration and appreciate all of your feedback. Thank you, Jim Goss VP of Operations

  14. I posted the results of Billy Lanes trial. I had no idea this was controversial. I was merely informing everyone of what the results were. If I did something wrong then I am truly sorry. I will no longer post anything on the site. I will continue to be in the Chatroom and I will continue to welcome new members. As far as posting any thing other than that, it will not happen from me. 15. Howdy folks: I am planning a ride from Lubbock, TX to Brighton, MI beginning on 24-July (possibly the 25th depending on weather). I will depart Lubbock around 4am ride East to Wichita Falls, then hop on I-44 north to I-35, continue up through Wichita, KS and probably stop in Emporia, KS (about 1/2 between Wichita and Kansas City) for the evening. 25-July: Next day I will continue up I-35 up through Des Moines where I will pick up I-80 and continue East until arriving in Davinport, IA, where I will be staying the night. (A good friend of mine lives there, and they are not too far out of the way). 26-July: Leaving Davinport, I will then be able to take my time to putter across Northern Illinois to end up in Spring Grove, IL or Gurnee. I will be there for 1-2 days visiting my newest nephew (who is about 3 weeks old) and Also give my neice her first motorcycle ride! 28 or 29 -July: Depart Spring Grove/Gurnee and head for Brighton, MI via I-94 (probably take the Tri-state (294) around chicago - but we'll see when I get there). I'll stay on I-94 Until Battle Creek, where I'll shoot up I-69 to Lansing (With a stop in Mason to drop off my passenger) Then on to Brighton. I will be in Brighton, Walled Lake, Clarkston, Mason, Jonesville and various other places for that week. I will start my ride back to Texas sometime between the 4th and the 8th. I'm hoping to be able to stop in Marble Falls, AR for a day or 2 of the rally, but I am not sure what my schedule is going to be like while I'm up in Michigan (I will be with some family that is only doing so-so and they are the main purpose of my trip. So depending on what happens, I may or may not swing through AR). As for the details of my return trip, I have not decided. It will largly depend on how much time I will have to come back. I may go south through Nashville (visit some more family) then putter on over to Marble Falls, or I may need to just take the most direct route possible home... We'll see -- I'll be taking it a day at a time. ANYWAYS, I wouldn't argue with some company through various parts if you wanted to meet up or whatever just let me know. Hope to see you all in August at the Hub! Gdspeed - Rick M.

  18. OK folks...I honestly don't know how else to say it. I've put it in the site information, I've pleaded and begged, I've always tried very hard to be nice in the way that I request things of you. I honestly don't ask for much but one thing that I have ALWAYS requested is that we refrain from political discussion here. Some folks just don't seem to get it though. In the 4 1/2 years that this site has existed, I think there has been ONE single member banned. OK...there have been some spammers banned but I'm talking about legit members. Most of you have been very respectful of the very few rules that we have here. There are however a small handful of members who just can't resist making a political statement anytime the slightest opportunity presents itself. It might be in response to a joke, a casual post, whatever but they just have to do it. Some seem to think that they are so smart and witty that the political implications of their post will fly under the radar. Let me assure you, it doesn't happen. I read every single post made to this site and in fact, I have it set up so that ever single post is emailed to me. I can promise you that I watch these things. I try very hard to be fair and I often let things go until I see a war starting to break out but have become less tolerant as time goes on. So, there have been plenty of warnings, nice requests, begging and pleading. I simply cannot continue to allow a handful of folks to continue to push the envelope every chance they get. You are all intelligent people and you KNOW when you are doing it. Don't send me emails or PMs asking if I am talking about you. You KNOW if I am or not. As much as I despise the thought, I'm not going to continue having to dance around just a few people. Those who continue to abuse our few simple rules are subject to being banned from the site with no further warning. This may seem extreme but if it happens, you have caused it to happen. This applies to everybody, regardless of their political affiliations. If you are Democrat, Independent, Republican, conservative, libertal, whatever...this is not the site for it. This includes not only posts on the forum and profile pages but also avatars, signatures, etc. The only other major thing here is that the site is PG rated. I know that there is a big difference between PG rated and G rated. I'm not trying to make this the Disney Channel but some have gotten a bit lax in their language and jokes. Please help me to get these things back under control. You are the greatest group I've ever had the pleasure of being associated with. This message applies to VERY few of you.

  21. Hello everyone. My post here is to let everyone know that I'll be suspending production of the Stebel horn brackets for a while. I'm in the midst of doing some home remodeling and just don't have the time or space in my garage at the moment to devote to making anymore for now. I will continue making them for as long as there's a demand for them thou, so just consider this a temporary set back till I can get back into production again Thanks to all who have purchased one to date. Larry
