Value? that was my point a new Harley Trike is $30 to $31K with warranty. A new Wing is minimum $21K (if you find a dealer discounting them) and then $14k for the conversion puts you at $35k and as far as I have heard, triking a Honda, BMW or Yamaha voids the warranty. I like the new Spyder RT also,, same price as a Wing, already triked. And I even like the color.

The Droid is Verizon the Cliq is T-mobile,, T-mobile also has the G1 and the Mytouch Mytouch does not have a real keyboard. It is touch screen only like the Iphone, G1 and Clicq do the full touchscreen thing, but also fold out a real keyboard for those of us with fat fingers.

I just got a G1 last week.. I have not used it yet, but downloaded GPS Tracker, it has an associated web site so friends and family can keep track of where you are when off on a trip. I also have installed Google Sky Map, NBA game time lite, movies by fixter, and My Coupons. So far I have only loaded free apps. Anyone else with an Android compatible phone?

Windshield HEIGHT advice
hig4s replied to ablumny's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
From my point of view, the only real solution is a taller screen and live with looking through it. I didn't have much buffeting issues with the stock screen but my wife did, I added the tallest Clearview and now she is happy. I don't mind looking through the clearview, the water runs off it much better in the rain than it did on the stock shield. Of course if Yamaha would get their act together and put an electrically adjustable screen like the ones on most other touring and sport-touring bikes, it wouldn't be an issue. -
I use Engine Ice,, because it is easy to use, premixed, and much more environmental safe than regular anti-freeze. Propylene Glycol instead of ethylene glycol. If you spill it on the cement and the dog licks it, propylene glycol won't kill him. But you could mix virtually the same stuff for yourself by going 50/50 with Prestone LowTox and distilled water.

This should be the correct replacement Crate engine.. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NAL-12568758/ If installed in a C/K series truck up to 1995 it has a 3 year 100,000 mile factory warranty. Not sure how much shipping is.

OK, from what I can tell, in many states it is illegal to use passing (aux, fog, whatever you call them) lamps with high beams. In some states it is illegal to use them with low beams, and in most states there is no specific requirement as to when they cannot be used. And in VA, they were just plain illegal to use at all until mid 2008. It even said in the installation instructions for my lamps. "ATTENTION Check stat regulations before installing this accessory. Some states allow "Passing Lamps" to be on at all times, while others allow them to be on only with the high beam or only with the low beam." and it gives instructions so you can wire them to be on all the time or to automatically go off with either high or low beams. I wired mine so they are on all the time, but I did put the switch by the aux power port so if I ever get stopped I can turn them off. I also have mine pointed somewhat down so as not to blind anyone but they are still quite noticeable.

OK one warning,, a fair percentage of people wake up from the procedure seemingly normal, but any where from 1/2 to 2 hours later they do not remember anything from the time they woke up until then. So it is best to avoid using the computer for several hours, so in the drug induced euphoria you don't change all your passwords and then forget them!!!!

HELP!!! I suffer old-timers & CRS (can't remember squat)

Did you mean this one. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41780&highlight=trike -
Like tester Bartels said, everything wrong on the Venture can be easily fixed, the only thing really wrong is the price they want for a bike that has not changed in 11 years. Handling, like was said, is because of the rotten stock tires Yamaha chooses to use. Go with better tires and handling improves, if still not svelt enough for you, go with a narrower front. I love my narrow Avon front. Weather protection, add the side vents (which cures the lower ventilation problem also) and a Clearview shield, I've ridden in heavy rain and been surprised I wasn't soaked. Price, like was said, you can find still new, or low mileage with warranty bike for much less than Yamaha is asking. For that matter I paid less than MSRP for my 07 in 07.. Low end power, it is a 4 cylinder, it won't have the low end of a twin, but it will have much more top end for it's size than a twin. Personally I'm not a big fan of twins or air cooled engines. Gas mileage because of carbs. For me carbs are cheaper and easier to work on. FI would be nice, but I don't really care. My Jeep gets 17 mpg, 34mpg at freeway speeds and 39 at 50mph cruising I find just dandy. And dis'ing shaft drive. I'm not fond of belt drives, if mis-adjusted they will self destruct. Of course they thought the best tourer was the Wing, which, if I'm not mistaken, is SHAFT DRIVE!!!! And add the extended warranty from the dealer on any of the other bikes and see how much you will be paying. Bottom line for anyone buying a touring machine should be how comfortable is the basic set up for you, everything else can be changed.

Welll,,, I do and don't have a Yahoo account,, Since Bellsouth was bought by ATT, and they use Yahoo as their web and email server provider, things have gotten strange. Seeing as I do use the webmail system to read my home emails from work and other places they automatically merged my yahoo and bellsouth email accounts. And for awhile I was missing lots of emails.. I have since turned off the automatic spam blocker and have much less problems.

As far as the load #,, the higher the better.. That is one of the reasons I like the Avons. And why I like the narrower front, it has a 74 load rating. There was no way for me and the wife and all are gear was under the load rating of the stock tires.

84% humdity, with a 10 degree chance of rain.

I got mine and installed them earlier this week. No more jeans flapping on the way to work.. And I find the wind stream is just moved out about four inches, so when it is warm I can stick my knees out a little or use my highway pegs and I can get my knees back in the wind. Very nice thanks.. I keep considering getting some "black nylonnnnssss ...... Opps, flash back to Flesh Gorden.. I mean getting black nylon bolts and rubber grommets so I can drill a couple small holes and mount them more permanently to the lowers.

Need help to tighten passing lamp
hig4s replied to Yamaman's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Remove the ring that holds the bulb in, disconnect the bulb or gently let it hang by it's wires, which ever you are more comfortable with, and inside there is a hollow bolt that goes through the housing, a washer, the mounting bar, another washer, and into the turn signal stalk nut. You will need to hold the nut in the stalk (not the turn signal) while tightening the bolt. If you hold the signal the nut may spin inside the signal and cut the wires. I just installed mine a week or so ago. here is a diagram http://mysite.verizon.net/vzesx5ly/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/passinglampmountinginstructions.pdf -
Actually for the last few years the newer ABS systems are so good that only professional motorcycle road racers on clean dry tracks have been able to out brake ABS systems. And even the racers have not been able to brake as fast as ABS in less than optimum conditions. Along with the stopping distance, it was found that less than half of all riders tested, of varying abilities, could even keep a bike upright when the traction was less than optimum while making an emergency stop. And remember, this was during a testing situation when the rider knew they would have to simulate an emergency stop.

Which is exactly why most people buy consoles, they don't want help to get a game to work, they just want it to work the first try. Personally I have found that unless you have a dedicated game PC there is always a chance a new game will cause problems that will stop you from using your computer for other things you made need it for. I have an Xbox 360 and so does my son, he got his the first day they were released. (He sat in line all night to get it.) I got mine three months after first release. I only play occasionally but he plays his all the time. Mine still works fine and his quit working last week, but because it gave the known RROD (red ring of death) hardware symptom from the first release Microsoft is suppose to fix it for free or at least a reduced rate. As far as what they do, IMHO if you like PC style games and/or strategy games the Xbox 360 is a better platform, if you are into the newer RPG games the PS3 is the better platform. For simulations the XBox started out better but now both are about the same.

Generally speaking, any tire manufactured more than 6 years ago, regardless of the amount of tread or even if it has never been used, is not safe.

LED power requirements for you elecrical guru's
hig4s replied to barend's topic in General Tech Talk
From the information I have been able to find, it appears a dual intensity LED tail/brake light with 100 leds will draw .2 amps in tail light mode and 2 amps in brake light mode. I'm not sure how much the stock bulbs draw, I would assume about 1.6 amps in tail light mode and 6 or 7 amps in brake light mode. The only info I could find on incandescent 12v bulbs was the info that two 50watt headlights and two 20watt tail lights on a car will draw a total of about 11.5 amps. I replaced my tail/brake light with the 32 LED setup and it is about three time brighter than the stock bulbs and I would guess it draws less than 1 amp total in brake mode. In tail light mode it is as bright as the brake light use to be. But again, I am not positive.
