The reason I was asking is that I plan on doing the triple gauge / vintage tape deck mount swap. So I'm looking for options for a tach. I was thinking something similar to the drag specialties on the bars, but just wasn't sure how it would look. You guys are a great help. Which brings me to a question, why is the tach below so cheap? http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp?skuId=408088&store=Main&catId=&productId=p408089&leafCatId=&mmyId=

Exactly what he said. -
Is my wife riding with you too? Put on the Diamond R rests and she's slept ever since.

For those of you who have installed an aftermarket tach. Which one are you using? Is it handlebar mounted or mounted in some other fashion?

This is the combo I use and I used rotella in the GWs as well! -
I have only did mine once, but is there a chance that one of the hoses has a blockage?
-
I do most of my own maintenance and this bike is easier to work on. But the nice thing is that both are very, very reliable. Most of what you do on a GW or a Venture is just maintenance or customizing -which by definition is self-inflicted!

Goose's reply is spot on. I came from two GWs and the ergos are much better for me and I'm 5"9. Are there things I would change? Yes a few, but I've no desire to switch to a new bike. Mountains or sea level, 1-up or 2-up with a trailer, I've have very, very, good luck. I agrees with the others on fuel consumption.

Great news. We're still praying here....

Good to hear. I have one that's a year old, so we'll see how it does. I keep it on a tender during the winter and watch the voltmeter during the summer. If it gets below 12.5 volts, I put it on the tender.

I'll be there.

Last Friday and Saturday, three buddies and I took our first two-day ride of the spring. The tour was about 700 miles round trip through the hills of Southern MO and Northern AR and was it terrific! The weather was perfect; cool in the early mornings, but 70ish midday. Was it nice to get out and just ride and visit with the guys. For those of you who haven't had the opportunity yet, I FEEL LIKE A NEW MAN. GET OUT THERE QUICK, YOU'LL FEEL BETTER TOO! I think that fix will last about 2 weeks...maybe...but it sure is nice summer is on the way!

Had an older biker friend once that was a "bit bald and portly". Anyway he always said he was built for "High Speed/Low Drag". As I get older, I'm understanding what he meant -I think. !

Maintenance on a RSV
1sttenor replied to FL-Venture-Rider's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I purchased an 06 and to date the only problems I experienced was dry lubrication points. He's right they are very stingy with grease. Other than that 2 years and 20K later no problems, just ride it like I stole it!
