  1. Mine are on all the time too. I've replaced with Halogen and really don't need the high beam.
  2. Suweeeeet! I thought I had a nice one
  3. Have any of y'all stayed at the Cliff House? My wife thinks EconoLodge is roughing it. We have about 10 bikes going down in October as well.
  4. FWIW, When my first went out I changed both to Wagner 7600. Much better light and very little difference in power draw.
  5. I love the oldies too...but I think some of those may no be the original color!
  6. I agree. Next trip is to SW CO, Ouray-Durango area.

    New Tires

I'm running E3s on mine and love it. After reading some of the darkside articles I decided to go with a rear (reversed) on the front as well. I love it. We just got back from CO with lots of twisties and they did great. I really like the rear on front
  8. We just got back from a week in Colorado. What a great ride. The weather was perfect for the whole week except the 1st day, which was ok, since we were acclimating to the 10,500 elevation of the condo that day anyway. One note, our Ventures run great in the mountains. I was riding with a couple of new Harleys, one 08 & one 09, I could climb Loveland Pass at 65 mph, 2up with the cruise on and the harley guys were wondering why I was running so hard! Here are a few pics.
  9. They're easy to get at by taking off the tank and the front engine braces. Sounds bad but only 5 minutes extra.
  10. Nice pics. Thanks for posting.
  11. Our condolences and prayers for his family.
  12. Brings back old memories...had a 76 in Dark Cherry Red. Bullet proof!
  13. I got a couple...one thing I notice is that I'm actually cooler with it and a cool mesh shirt on than if I was just in a tee shirt. You'll like them!
  14. We are getting ready to leave for CO next week and I have a question. Wanda's back is just not up to riding across KS, so I'm going to trailer to CO and then we'll ride all week in the mountains. Here's my question, where to attach the tiedown straps? I can see there is just enough clearance to attach the front straps to the handlebars near the triple tree, but are the rear bars where y'all attach your rear straps? The last time I trailered a bike was 30years ago and that was a dirt bike that I could have just laid over, so I wasn't too careful with it!
  15. Man I wish I could have gone, but we're leaving for CO next Wednesday and I could do both.
  16. GREAT PICS! Thanks for sharing.
  17. I have a TomTom and the free updates is not entirely true. In fact, to get real updates they charge you. That said, I like my 720. I can put 50 routes in it before I leave home and you can run the sound through the Aux on the bike. So I put in a 4 MB SD card in the tomtom and never hear the same song twice on a two week trip. It also BlueTooths to my Blackberry. Works for me.
  18. I never shift into 5th unless I'm at above 55. For the passing lamp switch...Look at the power port on the inside left front fairing. The stock switch is placed there, if it was done at a Yama dealer. Out of the box they're switched on with the low beam, off with the high beam. Some of us have replaced the 5 cent switch and switched them to on all the time. Check local laws, though! I have put a tach on mine and it bumps the limiter at 6,700. ONce you put a tach on these, you see how very low you were turning the bike before!
  19. Hey SEUADR, My first "big bike" was a GS 1100GK. I thought I was in heaven. Wasn't long before I got my first GW, but I really liked that bike.
  20. Just had mine replaced. Open the cover and lightly tap the fuel pump (behind the left side cover). I bet it will pump up. That was exactly how mine acted!
