The machine I sat on was a trike, I cant see staying on it for longer changing the feeling of trying to push my privates back inside me. I sat back against the back rest, but it did not help any. Sorry but that turned me off the possibility of owning a 2nd Gen.

Well, since this subject has been brought up, I will throw in my personal opinion/experience. Let me add at this point I am not simply bashing or taking a cheap shot at the 2nd Gen or those who own them. I own a 1st Gen and had the chance to sit on a Gen 2 recently. Now its no secret that I don't like the "Harley" looks of a Gen 2, but thought the seat looked very comfy. I can honestly say that those looks are deceiving, I found the seat back pushes me forward while the front that turns up to conform to the fuel tank does a fantastic job of trying to push the family jewels back inside the body. I sat on it for less than a minute and decided that will be the last time I sit on a 2nd Gen. I could not see riding that machine for 10 minutes let alone all day. The only thing this bike has going for it is the V4 engine. I realize that there is a lot of members that prefer the 2nd Gen over the earlier model and that is a personal choice. Good for you, I'm glad you have a machine you love as much as I love my '86, but if and when I wish to get a newer bike than a 1st Gen, I must say I will take a much closer look at a Goldwing.

He did an awesome job! I'm Canadian and I'm proud of him. Gotta love patriotism like that, regardless of what side of the border you are on.

Glad to hear you made it without anything more than a bad scare.

still looking for right hand saddle bag cover
Stanman replied to Black wing's topic in Watering Hole
I just looked and I have a complete right saddle bag with 3 good latches, 4 locks and a key. If you want it make me a reasonable offer and pay actual shipping. The cover used to have a chrome rack. -
You only pay $2 a piece for plugs??? I don't think a person can even get any spark plug here for $2. I believe the last ones I bought were over $6 each.
-
Sure will, getting away from the Hardley looking part.... I wouldn't want to be tied to it either.

Center for Disease Control Considers Helmetless Motorcyclists an Epidemic

WELL; since you brought it up..... I agree. Here the LEO's are running around like the dorks they actually are handing out tickets for no seat belt, when in all honesty who really gives a s--- whether or not I am wearing a stupid idiot strap. I don't believe in being tied in a vehicle and possibly in more danger because I can't get out after an accident. I think they look at it as a cash cow for the government.. -
Yep, this is a great site with some of the greatest friends you you will ever make. On this alone you've got more than your $12 worth in information.

Good luck with the new job!

we started talking about what had just happened to me then he shows me his shirt pocket it was half full of good size ball bearings he said that when ever he feels a car is to close and trys to let them go around and the dont he just flicks one of the ball bearings over his shoulder he said that gets there attention real quick and they back off in a hurry. myself i dont think i could do that I know of a guy that used to ride, that also carried a pocket full of ball bearings, but he didn't flick just one over his shoulder. Said he threw a small handful over, claimed it always got their attention.

Prayers sent for her and her family. -
I'm pretty sure that if I had to replace my 1st Gen with a newer bike, it would be with a Wing. One has to like the overall looks of the machine you ride. For me the 2nd Gen just is not appealing even with that V4.

Obviously personal choice, but to me at least Goldwings still have more style. I saw a 2nd Gen up close for the first time yesterday. Love the saddle, but hate the fairing.

I'll have to look, I might also have one off my '86. -
Beautiful bike. If I could afford it, it would be in my driveway in the length of time it took to drive it home.

You got lucky and got a good one.

Its a Ford!!!! In my experience, designed to fail and burn excessive amounts of gas.. need your own personal oil well in the back yard to keep the fuel tank full..
