  1. Been there, done that. Wanna see the t-shirt? One word for you...chiropractor! After being diagnosed with my problem, I checked out a chiropractor and I was "right as rain" in 3 weeks of 3 days/wk visits. Do yourself a huge favour and stop pumping chemicals into your body that do nothing more than treat the symptom and not the cause. Only a chiropractor can address the cause in your back. Thomas
  2. That would be great! He needs to eat a salad before any ice cream tho. Its a Canadian thing.
  3. That's a great idea! You just let me know which Wed. night you guys are heading this way and I'll have ice cream, coffee and washroom available. I'm gonna need guidance on flavours of i/c tho. Thomas
  4. My stomach hurts from laughing so hard after reading that! Thomas
  5. I can't ever participate in this Wednesday night tradish. My wife works Wednesday nights, so I need to be home.
  6. I like Autosol Metal Polish. Goes on easy, cleans to a bright shine, available at Home Hardware, $8.49 http://autosol.com/ Thomas
  7. I did a parts check on Yamaha Parts List. Part #54K-2847F-00-00 shows as "seal" and is listed "obsolete" by Yamaha. From the diagram, I can't tell if it's a rubber seal or the metal seal we have on the lid and base. Either way, you can't get it from Yamaha. Thomas
  8. Either that's where Charlie emptied his bladder ....or....bugs. Maybe grubs.
  9. I would suggest staying away from refurbished. Even though they have been looked at by the service department of the manufacturer, they tend to still pose more of a problem than new. I bought refurbished "once". It was a problem system. Go with new, you'll be happier. Thomas
  10. Sounds like you have an '85 there with some extras goodies. Brian's right, the floorboards could almost pay your insurance for a year if you decided to sell them. No second gear issue? That's great. If the paint is good, and it's just a matter of tinkering with the engine. I'd say go for it. Thomas
  11. HAVE A GREAT DAY!!
  12. Melanoma can end your life! Skin Cancer. We don't talk about it and probably because we just don't know. Please pass this on to any young people you know. I was young once and understood the feeling of invincibility. They need to know that they can be invincible, they just need to be vigilante. http://dcmf.ca/ Thomas
  13. My wife and my mother-in-law are taking the kids (grandkids) into Toronto for the day. I am excused from this event so I'm going for a spin! It's gonna be a beeeeeutiful day! Thomas
  14. After a couple of years of enduring high heat on the legs in July, I knew I needed to do something about it. I don't remember where I saw the discussion but I did read about a Venture owner cutting Lexan to fit the opening. I figured this was a great alternative to waiting for a bargain on Ebay on louvers. I bought bronze coloured Lexan and used card stock paper to trace the side panels and trim to the needed dimensions and shape. Used the card stock as a template for marking and cutting the Lexan. Drilled holes where required, and "voila". Colour coordinated heat blockers. I'm happy. So is the hair on my thighs. Thomas
  15. Thomas
  16. These look like they're exclusive to 2nd Gen riders. Too bad, they look really good. Thomas
  17. Thanks Mike, for diggin' that up for me. It really looks great. Did you have to modify the liner in the fairing at all for heat considerations? Thomas
  18. Mike, I know it's been a year but we still haven't seen photos of this finished project.
  19. Where's Motto Guzzi?
  20. I have experienced the same thing with my car windshield mount. My Garmin windshield suction cup mount will just "drop off" every once in a while. I just couldn't ever see using a windshield mount on a clattering motorcycle windshield. I went with the RAM system for the handlebars. Love it. No issues. Thomas
  21. Mike, you'd better be careful. If this turns out to be something really cool, then I'm gonna want one. And maybe several others out here as well. You'll be busy for months. Do you only need one, or are you making a pair of them? Thomas
  22. Thanks Snaggletooth for bringing this up. I remember reading about it a couple of years ago and thought "oh, I should do that..." Never did. Until now. Around $5.00 Canadian and, honest to god, 15 mins of my time and she's good as new. Maybe even better. You really need to look at this as $5.00 now to save substantially more in damage from a fall. Thomas
  23. Do you speak from experience Carl? So that's the special seasoning in your pepperettes. Thomas
  24. I have the same setup. I LOVE my Buddy Rich cable.
