  1. I have a V-Max rear that I would be willing to part with if anyone is interested. i ride more highway and liked the lower rpm. This pumpkin has been modified for the speed sensor.
  2. Simple to do - have it down to 15 minutes including the seat change. I made a wood holding device that I have snap pins that hold the trunk up when off the bike to keep it from getting scratched up.
  3. Same thing happened to me........ Turns out I had pinched one of the wires when I installed the plastic cover - built in short......... It took me a LONG time to find it.
  4. There is only one auxiliary jack/plug installed. There is a white plug behind the side cover where you can install/tie-in another for the rear seat. The one installed is on the left side of the inside fairing down below the bars (you will have a tough time seeing it without bending over to look under the bars).
  5. REALLY ?!?! I wouldn't have thought that would have any effect (or VERY little) on the bars.......... hmmmm
  6. Hmmmm............. I have had the rear end apart SEVERAL times in the last few months for the Vmax rear end install/uninstall - I didn't see anything like that when I had it apart. It appears the "spring" is mangled, so that might be tough telling where it came from.......... Sorry, no help at all on this one. Could be one of several oil seal/o-ring/hub dust seal from that side of the wheel (#4, 8 & 10)
  7. Hmmm......... I know some buddies that have lost theirs too - some how they ended up in the wife's purse, and she ain't giving them back !!
  8. YEAH - they have to be the worst videos made as a sales tool. What the hell does that show you !?!?!
  9. And the grip puppies will cover that, but they will add to the total outside diameter of the grip. Less than $20 for both right /left. Just a thought.........
  10. I did the same thing, except I ditch the antenna as I use the XM exclusively.
  11. Thanks for the compliment.
  12. Thanks for the compliments - the seat was an aftermarket something or other (bought it used and took it to a shop and had it modified). Not SUPER excited about the seat look, so I think I'm going to take it to a different shop and have it done again. The pillion is to tall........
  13. Sure, that seat can stay on and the bike assembled back to original. When I switch it back (only for long trips or a hottie on the back......), I usually put the original seat back on as it's more comfortable for the passanger. That seat in the pic's is very comfortable for me.
  14. This is what it looks like.
  15. http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/Motorcycle_Lifts_s/2.htm I have one and love it. Very heavy duty, air powered and stable.
  16. I would think the placement of the jug makes a difference also. The fronts will run cooler than the rears......
  17. I have both (stocker and a show chrome), and at this point I only use the shorty.
  18. Get a good heavy dose of Seafoam (full can of seafoam into the bikes fuel tank with about a gallon or two of gas already in the tank) run the bike until the seafoam is in the carbs and let it sit over night. Then fill the tank with fuel and see what happens. I'd do this before changing the plugs as this could foul the plugs. The bike will smoke considerably when you start it back up though. Just to clairify.............
  19. I think he meant this......... http://ledaccentlights.net/store/
  20. These work great and helped me out........... http://www.casporttouring.com/store/merchant.mvc? Make sure the size is correct for your application.
  21. I had an add-on CD player that did the same thing to mine. Dead battery after about 2 weeks.
  22. If you turn the key to the on position and let it there until the fuel pump stops clicking, you have built fuel pressure. Not sure I would do the "3 to 4 times" with the known issue of the ignition switch.......
  23. i have.......... gotta do something with the rear lighting (have the harley lights and the are big).
  24. NOW - there is a surprise.......... lol
  25. Not sure why you would even ask them..... Why would they take the responsibilty of telling you that the part would work on an application for which they were not designed? I would have bought one and tried it, if it worked buy the rest of what you needed - if not return it.
