Looking for better handleing
BuddyRich replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Well, It do weigh over 800 lbs so you ain't gonna throw it around any corners, It may throw you though. Puttin 4 piston calipers on the front will give you more braking. The rears are fine the way they are. Don't try any stoppies on it. -
How much you charge me to do something like that? Looks like a really good job. I'd send you my risers..
-
One of the jobs we had in the USAF was pilot survival training in a "nuclear " environment before and after ejection. There ain't nothin to worry about or even think about as far away as that is. The news is the news and just love to be alarmist. How else you gonna sell advertising if you don't have something to scare people into reading your site or newspaper.
-
So you made the whole riser ? I'm thinking I could drill and tap the Baron's I have. I never put them on because I wanted the spacers back in the correct position.
-
Hey Michael, How did you make those adapters? Did you drill and tap the risers ?

I think the very first bike I rode didn't even have a name. Oh yea, It was Briggs and Stratton and it was red. Come to think of it, I don't think it had any brakes either.

Preliminary Report on Pirelli MT66 ROUTE tires
BuddyRich replied to V7Goose's topic in General Tech Talk
A lot of us have been having problem with Avon's cracking. I ran them for years but won't anymore. After 2 sets cracking. Put a MT66 on the front and its a great tire. I'll probably put an MT66 on the back after the EII wears out. -

Yep, Anything that has been in the dirt, gravel or whatever is always losing rocks and junk when they hit a bump. I always try to do what it says on the back of the dump truck "Stay Back 200 feet"..

05 Silverado didn't have them. Jeeze. My 05 Dakota has loops on the side in the back of the bed and 2 holes in the bed in the front with a loop inside them. My 08 F150 has 2 loops on the each side of the bed one in front and one in back. These are all factory. Wonder why GM didn't put any on there's. Had an 03 Sierra and I don't remember it having them, come to think of it.

It never ceases to amaze me at how dumb some people can be. ALWAYS tie down your load. That's what those things in the side of the bed are for duh!!! I even tie down a single gas can in the back. Don't want it sliding around.

Cruise Control quick engage trick?
BuddyRich replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Yep, hitting big potholes will disengage it. Probably the brake or clutch switch. 2nd gens cruise will not work at all in 3rd or any lower gears. It will also disengage if the speed varies by more then 5mph of what it was set at. -

Why are we required to fill in the "Name" field in our Profile now?

Don made some changes to the database yesterday. Having the "Name Field" required is a good idea. You can use what ever you want. -

Did the same thing. I think it was a total of 25 bucks for a new screen and digitizer combo. That was a simple replacement. Don't know that I would dive much deeper than that into it though.

I have an F150 and a new Fusion and a Dodge Pick up. They can keep the Dodge. Its just cheap all the way around. Won't be buying a Chrysler again. We burned out 4 Gmc's at work in about 12 years and they all wound up in the shop with less than 50k on the speedos and then ever 30k after that. Something always breaking on a GM truck for some reason. I'll be sticking with Ford for a while. But like its been said that's "my experience".
