Our condolences Annie. I have some experience with this. As they say,It takes Time....

Can anyone here imagine what a pain it would be to have every high level connection soldered. It would be a nightmare to work on the machine. I think the problem rests in where the connector is and not being sealed is causing the problem. Soldering it removes (if its done right) the possibility of dirty connections.

I musta missed something. But will say this. In any (complete) circuit the point of any burning or failing is generally going to be at the point of most resistance due to heat build up. I don't know what the output is of that beefed up stator but as long as it falls into the range that the smallest wire in the circuit can safely pass then you should be good to go. And yes connectors need to be clean or you have resistance which will generate heat as current attempts to pass thru it to ground. I don't think anyone here meant any ill will in their comments but may have been trying to help from either what they have read or experienced.

RSV much worse in crosswinds than 1st Gen?
BuddyRich replied to Grisolm1's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Your probably not gonna like that narrow front tire. Its really gonna make the bike feel like it wants to wander all over the place. And the first gen has a real problem passing semi's at 80 in a crosswind. Check with SteveD on that. He'll tell you its like hitting a brick wall. -

Cruise Control dis-engaging
BuddyRich replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
In high winds or hilly areas try running in 4th. You can run in 4th just fine to the 85mph limit of the cruise. -
I use FF4 and sometimes have 20 or more windows open. I don't use tabs though. No real problems unless The pc goes to sleep then its just a matter of waiting for it to wake up all the way

Yea, But you can text yourself that list you want from the store, or your wife can, and you got the proof you didn't buy the wrong thing! :rotf:

Your probably right. Lithium-ion batteries have weakness's in their design. You can't drain them too fast or too much without causeing permanent damage. They even have circuits built in to try to stop this. A few years ago I bought a set of Ridgid 24v Lithium-ion tools. Killed 4 batteries with the saws in the set in less than a year. That's when I started trying to find out what had happened and read up on Lithium-Ion.

Seems that I sell more when I bump the thread up. I don't think a lot of people go into the classifieds for some reason.

am I getting ripped off ?
BuddyRich replied to Gogosa's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
That's what I was gonna say. 07 should not be outta warranty till 2012. Probably have to pay the transfer fee. -
Yep, Did that the other day thru an intersection. Didn't even know it was in the air till I pulled in the clutch and let off to shift. Front dropped about a foot. Glad there was no one around to give me a ticket.

I do it a lot here in TX. I think its the roads. Take off (dead stop) from an intersection and nail it part way thru the turn and the rear will start sliding out. Oh yea, you can feel it. Made a turn today to the right at an intersection but was a roll thru as there was no cross traffic, about 10 or so nailed it some and could feel it starting to slide out so I backed off it a bit. That tar and chip crap they use here is slick even dry.

We've had Droids for almost 2 years now and not one problem with ours. Jude had a droid incredible and went to the Droid X. She likes it better. I currently have an EVO 4g since June and no problems.
