"If you have to ride in any heat, especially with high humidity - get one of these vests " Don't they work by evaporation? How will moisture evaporate in high humidity? Mabey I need to do some more research!!

Here is a link to a great, well priced emergency kit that is light and takes up very little space. As a former Army SOF Medic, I carry one in my police car and one in my bike's trunk. I also recomend you take CPR and First Aid or First Responder courses, if for no other reason to be better able to handle an emergency at home! Sorry I missed you, I rode I70 in Western PA on Friday, was in Johnstown, PA all weekend, and live in the DC area! You would have been welcome to our guest room and we could have split the beer!! Ride safe, look me up next time!

Rode from Southern Maryland to Johnstown PA on Friday 4 June 2010. Passed a gent on a RSV on I70 west of Hagerstown and met up with him at the gas pumps off the PA Turnpike. We chatted for a bit, I told him about the web site and we agreed to ride together untill I got off the turnpike. Hopefully he'll show up here! We chatted on the CB using Chanel 19 but the reception was terrible. We were about 100-125 feet apart. I am new to using a CB, can someone advise me on the best squelch settings, etc? Its great to meet new friends and fellow Venture riders! I rode back this morning to work in DC. It was 38 when I left Johnstown, thank goodness for my rain suit!!

Beautiful bike, makes me wish I weren't 6'5 sometimes.....enjoy!!!

+1 on what JFoster said, I also have dual display. A big +1 on what Boomer said. I'd rather pull over and not need too than keep going and then be charged with driving to elude or fleeing. When I pull someone over, chances are I'm looking for guns, bulk currency and drugs, not someone who didnt use a turn signal making a left. The person I pull over decides in the majority of instances if they aere getting a ticket or not by their attitude. Play it safe......

I'm 6'5" and I ride with my stock handlebars in the position they came from the dealership in. I have added a Utopia backrest. I find the position to be just about perfect for me. On my previous bike (Suzuki Boulevard) I installed risers and really liked the diffrence it made.

Sorry I just caught this Freebird, prayers and best wishes from my family to you and yours!

Rick, there is almost always a sometimes large contingent of RCMP attending officer's funerals down here. Always nice to see our counterparts from Canada.
