Ok guys, first off my search-fu is weak. While there are multiple threads about removing the stock windshield (i'd like to get a blacked out 10" one for the summer months) I can't seem to find a step by step instruction on it. Would someone please point me in the right direction to an appropriate post, hopefully with pictures? Thanks in advance! Csogbk

+1 on the Ruger LCP in the DeSantis Nemisis pocket holster. I am a police officer and I dont even mow my lawn without it in my pocket. The cold reality is you never know when someone will choose to bring the fight to you. That being said, Black Betty posted some great information as well as sevral others. I use a Crossbreed IWB when I carry my Glock 26. The design prevents it from rubbing your skin, etc. Also, as a police officer, if you're stopped for a traffic violation, or otherwise come into contact with a law enforcement officer, PLEASE, while keeping your hands in plain sight, identify yourself as a "lawful, CCW permit holder, and I am carrying a BLANK on my right hip" or whatever. This can avoid alot of confusion if a shirt does ride up, etc. Should you need to use your weapon, or draw it and hold someone, when you or a spouse call the police make damn sure you tell them "I have a burglar at gunpoint. I am the homeowner and I am wearing blue jean shorts, a red Tshirt and flip flops" etc. If the officers order you to drop the weapon do so instantly and without verbal argument. Protect yourselves and your families. Property is easily replaced. Seek training constantly.

Caring less about how I look, more if I survive...

Hell I'm only 41 and I like it! Who cares, be seen, be safe! -
I hope you got some cash too, I mean it was a Venture after all!! J/K, congrats!

Kite I got the LED strip you gave me on over the weekend, man does it help light up the rear end! Thank you very much, I feel alot safer riding home down Rt. 301 at night! I was interested in the saddlebag lights so I could get some visibility on the sides. Rode home next to a friend the other night, he was on his HD Ultra Classic and it's very well lit from the sides. I think for the price I may try and light the front and or at least the rear reflectors. I'd still like to get together and tackle the passing lamp project with ya when you can!

Lone Eagle, correct, I was referring to the saddlebag lights. Do you have some daylight / night time pics by any chance? How do they install? Drilling? Thanks! Color01 they are WAY WAY over my budget too but in the interest of safety I may have to make this sacrifice!

Good deal, where in PA? Let me know if you need some company heading west for a day or two, I'm in Maryland.

I highly recomend Battlefield Leathers in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. They will fit and tailor your chaps while you wait! I've had a $99 pair for 3 years with no percievable wear. http://www.battlefieldleathersinc.com/products.nxg

Any questions about PPE (ie gloves, vest, etc.) can also be directed toward the PMO or Provost Marshall's Office. If you're transiting Interstate 81, I love to stay at Fort Indiantown Gap just north of Hershey Pennsylvania. Ask for Area Six, $25 a night for a room with a single bed comparable to a Motel 6. Basic cable, Internet, fridge.

Anyone have these installed? Could you post pictures is so? How do they install? How long did it take, etc. I would like to get a set but would like to see them on a member's bike as opposed to the Diamond R site's pics! Thanks! http://www.diamondraccessories.com/yamaha/proddisplay.php?name=RSV/RSTD LED Saddlebag Light Bar

Sorry for your families loss!

Please be careful in the snow and did you say SOUTH OF THE BORDER? Its extremely dangerous in most areas along the border, please exercise extreme caution and always be aware of whats going on around you. Never allow your bikes to become boxed in in traffic as this can signal a kidnapping attempt!

Been there myself, many times since 11 September 2001. If you'd like, please PM me, I know my wife would be happy to talk to yours, give her some advice on how shes coped with multiple deployments (often to very austere areas with no communications for months on end, I'm an 18D) or anything else we can do to help. Above all, be safe and watch your six!!

I second what everyone else has said, college is a great first step to becoming a police officer. I would recomend you look into an two or four year college program vs. a "school" like ITT Tech. And, while I am also a huge CDB fan myself, change the motto. Remember, when you're doing your background investigation things like posting on this site, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc. are all fair game. Be careful who you assiciate with, stay out of trouble, get good grades and soon I hope to welcome you into our very special Brotherhood!

Dont feel bad Aspen, my stealership could not find, nor seem to keep in his shop once it arrived, my "included" cd disc changer for my 09. Not a problem as I dont own a single CD. I'd happily settle for a set of passing lamps and all hardware, etc. I recieved these friday morning and went and asked the service department how much they would charge to install these, as well as a LED brake lamp KiteSquid so graciously gave me. The service manager said RSVs are easy to connect, only about $325!!! (Please note: I am mechanically challenged, Kite can testify to this!) so I have a set but can't afford to install em! Brian

Tragic? No doubt. Sad, definatly. Are we getting the whole story from the media? Who knows. Will this Trooper live with this for the rest of his life? Guilt, remorse, doubt. Yes. All feelings shared, no doubt, by the cyclist's family I'm sure. But before we condem cops in general lets remember the countless troopers and officers every day who respond to motorcycle accidents, or people breaking into our homes, or terrorists walking thru Army Posts with pistols designed to penetrate body armor. As a cop, I dont ask for special favor and know I am held to a higher standard. I have one of the few jobs in this world where making a left or right turn at an intersection could affect my life, my livlehood, my family for decades to come. The trooper was lawfully aquitted by a jury of his peers. Dont hold us all in disdain.
