  1. sad: to say i might have to sell the 1984 royal. im still fighting a workers comp case. and i still owe$2500 on the car. to have it paid in full. i know the bike wont bring in that much? it does run but like allways it needs some TLC. i have put $$ into it. and im sure a good paint job and some tunning will bring this bike back to its glory days. when the weather gets better. i will go out and uncover it and snap some pics. i know pics can make it look nice. and seeing as ones on this site have not rode it? they still might give a good offer for it? EUSA1 mike did a small run on it when he was kind enough to help me get it to my place and out of storage. he might be able to give a fair opion on the bike should he be so inclined to do so? if i should settle my workers comp cliam this summer i would be in the market for another one. now i want people to understand i am not asking in any way for help again to save the bike and keep the car? you all work hard for your money. yes i would like to keep it. but i need my car. thats an all around transportaion. as the bike is not. like i said when i get time to take pictures i shall post them. thank you all sincerly james aka oldgoat.
  2. Bagpipes at a funeral....... As a bagpiper, I play many gigs. Recently I was asked by a funeral director to play at a graveside service for a homeless man. He had no family or friends, so the service was to be at a pauper's cemetery in the Kentuckyback country. As I was not familiar with the backwoods, I got lost and, being a typical man, I didn't stop for directions. I finally arrived an hour late and saw the funeral guy had evidently gone and the hearse was nowhere in sight. There were only the diggers and crew left and they were eating lunch. I felt badly and apologized to the men for being late. I went to the side of the grave and looked down and the vault lid was already in place. I didn't know what else to do, so I started to play. The workers put down their lunches and began to gather around. I played out my heart and soul for this man with no family and friends. played like I've never played before for this homeless man. And as I played 'Amazing Grace,' the workers began to weep. They wept, I wept, we all wept together. When I finished I packed up my bagpipes and started for my car. Though my head hung low, my heart was full. As I opened the door to my car, I heard one of the workers say, "I never seen nothin' like that before and I've been putting in septic tanks for twenty years." Apparently I'm still lost.... it's a man thing

  4. sad as it might be i might have to give the venture back to the loan company:bawling:. i was injured on a job last year after i got a loan to purchase the bike, been fighting the so called workers comp. well im still out of work. and was forced to retire from that job of over 15 years . there story was your no longer able to perform your duties. funny they dont want to settle? any ways i had to borrow against the bike once again. was doing ok as i was getting workcomp checks then they stopped due to there doctor saying things if anyone has fought workers comp you know where im comming from. im in a long fight with this as it destroyed my left knee. i had insurance to cover the loan if im out of work or dissabled. but due to the workers comp doc saying i can do light duty work. im screwed. my doctor says he cant work. till the knee is totaly healed. im stuck between a rock and a hard place now i owe $6000. on the bike total intrest and all. i love the bike but cant make the 200 a month payments yikes i know that high payments. also 300 for the car 300 for rent and ect ect im down to minus 150 a month with out makeing the bike payment. and noone will hire this old goat with all my restrictions. might not be the place to vent this but i like all of you and found a great friendship here
  5. For all my friends in Eastern Canada and other areas of North America that are having real serious issues with the job layoffs and slowdowns in their jobs, keep in mind that we are still short of workers in Saskatchewan. If you want to come out here and look for work I invite you to stay here at my place for a few days while you look around. We are so short of workers that our Provincial government is sending another group of companies and bureaucrats and HR people to Ontario next month to try to recruit some of the workers hit by the auto sector layoffs and shutdowns. The StatsCan figures show November2008 jobless rate as still dropping from Oct2008.( I think it is well under 4% here in Regina) There is even talk of a charter plane to ferry workers to and from Ontario for the work week and back home for the weekend for some manufacturing and oil sectors. Here is a link to just one website set up for job postings http://www.saskjobs.ca , and if you want any info on anything about Saskatchewan or a company just call or email me i would be happy to try and fill you in. To everyone affected by the slow economy and a job shortage, my thoughts are with you. Brian
  6. Are there any members in the house who are workers at US Steel? We have recently been bought out up here in the frozen north by USS I would like to ask a few questions, especially if your company had been bought out by the same. Thanks.
