Peg & I are looking forward to seeing everyone again and the long rides with the family too..... Wpredock, Are we still thinking of going to Springfield Mo. for lunch at the ? Restaurant sorry forgot the name - Working two jobs will do that to a guy - loss his mind:scratchchin:......... Can't wait for it to get here then again I hate for it to end too , since this might be the last Eureka Springs meet for a while since the (Hub) is next year and Wpredock is having another get together at his place. Everybody ride safe and we will be seeing you real soon......... Buddy

  6. JT, Ford is the worlds worst for fusible links they have them everywhere even under the dash. Best thing to do (engine at idle)is test the voltage at the alternator post where the battery cable bolts on and see what it reads should be around 14.2-14.8 volts then go to your battery and do a read there and see what it shows should read pretty close to the alternator voltage . Alternator could be bad or bad connection at the battery or a break between the two, but I would do a voltage test first and go from there....or could be a loose wire... Buddy
  7. Well I have the 83 Venture and the 08 Gold Wing Best of both worlds. The 83 venture is somewhat top heavy but once moving you never feel it and the 83 takes the curves with ease no problems and has no rev. limiter so redlinging the Venture is nothing, this V4 loves to be in the red that's when it is the most dangerous. And fast the 83 is the fastest of the Venture line. And as for the 08 Gold Wing, this machine is well balanced and pure power top or low end no matter where at this GL1800 is ready to run. And as for a race between a Venture and Gold Wing I have to say it would have to be the 1983 model Venture XVZ1200 WHY? Well due to it being the fastest V4 in the Venture line plus no rev. limiter and the motor never gives up, the only way the Venture has a chance against the new GL1800 is to stay in the red zone otherwise the Venture is beat. And as for the 83 Venture I have no problems riding it across country. Runs just as good today as it did new in 1983 may not look new but it still runs with the big dogs with no problems. And as for the Second Gen. 1300 I Love the style the performance and power the 1300 puts out. But its too top heavy when riding two up for my knee if not for that I would be riding a 08 Venture instead of the 08 Gold Wing. Buddy

    Sad News

So sorry to hear this, The family is in our prayers... Buddy
  9. Careful on what you say, you'll leave yourself wide open for Redneck... Hope it is something simple like a vacuum hose. Buddy
  10. First off where is this Hooters located? I might need some of that food:whistling: Must of been some good hooters I mean food... Buddy
  11. My 83 Venture has pulled my Harbor freight trailer over 5,000 mi with no problems. Did an excellent job in Eureka Springs last year which was over 1,335mi . So yes your bike will pull a trailer just fine. Buddy
  12. Gary, Peg & I are Praying for your Father & your family. Sorry to hear this my Friend anything we can do please let us know........ Buddy & Snowflake
  13. Peg & I are praying for Bigbob, Keep us up to date and let us (the family) know if there is anything we can do. Buddy
  14. Michael, Guessing when you was down at the dealer you found no silver one to look at:rasberry: Sorry Teri I had to ask....... Buddy
  15. I have a one car enclosed car port with no insulation 12'X25'. What I been using is a cheap counter top electric heater which does real good keeping the place warm and there are times I have to shut it off due to it getting to hot in there. But I never leave it running while I'm gone... Some day I would like to put concrete in my other shop building which has dirt floor right now . Like I said some day - it will take about $3,000 to set concrete in a 30' X 40' shop. So it looks like the cheap heater will be used again this year.... Buddy
  16. Bill, I thought nothing about it there's nothing to be sorry about, besides if everybody knew you like us the committee and the some of the family here do. Then there would be no apologies needed. If everyone knew what you have done for so many family members here they would think nothing of it, besides everyone has a bad day I tell everyone that even myself. Forget it my friend .........Will see you & Linda in about 15-16 days from now.. Buddy
  17. Well since your not open water divers yet. But when you do can you get an Autograph from Jaws for me when you see him..... Congratulations on your Scuba Diving. I always wanted to deep water dive but never got around to doing it. Closest I got to diving is when we would swing out over the pond about 30 feet out and 25 feet in the air. Buddy
  18. Well I finally seen one today. Bright Yellow Cam-Am trike, boy was this thing ugly but yet kinda neat set up. Trike on the front sure did make it look funny, Had a man & woman riding it. As for the woman - looked like she was hanging on for dear life the back half has small setting for a passenger. And the man looked like he was trying to drive it in a straight line looked like he was all over the road. Peg & I drove by on our Gold Wing and said hi but the guy acted like it was trying to get away from him so he never waved as for the woman she tried to wave but could not due to the way the trike was running. Think I'll stick to the Venture & Gold Wing...
  19. Another easy way to remove the old bearings and not hurt the wheel is to find a bolt just a hair smaller than the bearing hole itself and use a hacksaw and cut down the center of the bolt (threaded side) about half way or more, then insert the bolt in the bearing itself no further in is needed or you may damage the collar assembly. Insert a straight screwdriver from the other side of the wheel and insert the screwdriver in the cut you made on the bolt and hammer way. As you hammer the screwdriver, it forces the threads out and catches the old bearing and pulls it right out of the hub with no damage to the wheel area. make sure you watch as for how the wheel comes apart as for collar and speedo gear assembly. Cannot remember the size of the bearing right now but any auto parts store can match them up for you.... buddy
  20. Way I see it is to stay within common sense, and you will never loss your money or your ride. Around here you can find some nut doing a wheelie down main street doing 80mph or better knowing any minute a car or truck can pull out in front of them. They call this fun? I call it suicide.. Buddy
  21. Well wanted to let everybody know that has ridden with me in the past years. That I finally broke down.........Yeah I broke down and bought a CB system:mo money: So now everyone can talk to me & Peg ...Or Newtrk06 & I will be listen to Peg & Rosebud talking on the CB ...I will be installing it first of next week and will have it ready for Eureka Springs Rally....... Wildhair39 we can talk on our next long ride .... Buddy
  22. HHmmmmmm, Foot massage OK That would be OK since I been doing that for years plus I give Peg a back rub also. If needed I add foot cream or sports cream to her feet&back when needed. Since she is a Court clerk and Billing She is always up & down on the go never stopping, So at times I give her a rub down to help her relax..... She does the same for me if needed . The last maintenance day we went to she was usually by herself. Having other women around to talk to would be enough for her.... Buddy
  23. These shorts stretch or compression like you said. They stick to you like a second skin, they kept me cool and allow my jeans to move freely. Buddy
  24. Athletic Works sport shorts 81% Polyester 19% Elastane . These sport shorts worked great for me today on my ride to Spring Field Mo. I wore them under my blue jeans and not once did I feel uncomfortable. My problem in the past was my jeans griping my legs & back side after riding for several hours and felt like my skin was being riped off. After wearing these sport shorts my jean never once put me in a bind nor did I sweat These really did help in keeping the jeans from binding and gripping my body plus they kept me cool as well very nice in deed. I bought these at wally world for around 9.00 I think ? any way I'm buying more before our trip next mo. For me they work great and a excellent fit as well. OH by the way do not stand in front or over a A/C vent wearing only the shorts ?why? the shorts turn into a deep freezer. COLD:cold: if you know what I mean. Buddy
  25. I made it back home . Left home at 3:49am this morning ,walked in the door at 8:29pm tonight 742 miles round trip.
