  1. Hey Wildhair39, So far we really love the bike, handles better than the GL1500. 1800 motor not as wide but way more power WOW! Plus this baby is balanced and the smoothest ride we ever had on a motorcycle. sorry if I made someone mad. We bought the basic Wing - Cruise - Intercom system - Reverse - AM/FM Stereo system W/I-Pod hookup- Hydraulic ride - Remote control locks - Weather temp gauge - Electric trunk opener - Panic button - What ever else I'm forgetting. If we want the fancier gadgets we can add them on later. All hookups already there just plug and play. A course you would have to remove just about everything to do it. Heck you have to remove everything just to check the air filter. O well Peg's happy and that's the main thing!! ......Think I'm loving it more than her now.... Buddy
  2. Sorry Peg, But you and Ron are part of our family. And it will not seem right you two leaving due to your new ride.. Nope not going to happen. We just bought a New GL1800 GoldWing and we're having a blast riding it too. So it does not matter what brand of bike you have. Your still part of this family!!!!!! I was feeling like I was letting everyone down due to us getting the new wing. But I was proven wrong again thinking that. Thanks everybody....
  3. RoseBud, (Two) Ron & Peg buddy

  5. WOW Buddy, Sure am glad your not all busted up over that ordeal, Sorry about the bike but at least you can walk away from it...I guess the damage to the bike is to the body parts? hope its not major. Bike still drivable? Hope you get up next day not hurting too much over this. If you need anything let us know OK.... buddy
  6. Yep my dad still has his, remember him calling it #@$^#$#$^%&*#when I was a kid. then he would ask me to work it ,Then I ran after I asked him where the remote for it was....
  7. You got PM buddy
  8. WOW JT, I thought those went out with the civil war...
  9. yeah I was looking at it last night, sure was funny seeing lug nuts on a rear wheel of a motorcycle I'm going to love that very much. Also funny seeing a swing arm with just one arm and not two wow. Not like the Venture or GL1500 where you have to remove the whole rear section like saddle bags and bars. As for the tire changing I think I better get used to the power first this baby will snap your neck real easy being fuel injection there no dead spots at all. I think my 83 beast will loss agaist this 1800 . This monster is quick and powerful.... Besides you know Peg she will have her finger nails ready if I try to burn rubber with this one.

  13. My Internet is to slow to watch it here at the house, So I will watch it at work Monday. Don't worry I will be on my break its from 7:30am - 4:00pm
  14. JT your for trouble ain't you.:crackup:
  15. Yep that is one nice bike. A guy across the street from work has one he rides everyday he even rode it when snow was on the rode when cars were slipping he had no trouble he just took his time. Yep Redneck you made a excellent choice indeed. Happy for you big guy!!!!!!! even tho its not a First Gen.
  16. Like you told me Brad. Does not matter what you ride as long as you dont leave or we will bring you back kicking a screaming... Thanks Squid Now that is one nice looking bike you have there squid get her out and put some miles under those tires.....
  17. Sorry about that 2008 model right out of the crate with 153miles now. Had 0.4 on odometer when I test drove it today before signing the final paper. We miss you guys so don't be surprised when I give you two a big hug at the M&E...
  18. No sorry I didn't there's only two Touring bikes I like Venture & Gold Wing. And since I'll be keeping the bike for some time I figured I better get something I can live with and keep Peg happy on long long trips.. My first pick was Sencond Gen. black cherry but it didnt help Pegs back much so I went with Gold Wing dark red metallic. Sorry if I made anybody mad, but I like these too body styles. buddy
  19. Yep Bill may look mean and act mean but he has a heart of gold when comes right down to it!!!!! Just wish we dint live so far apart. Guess we'll see you two in Eureka Springs. Buddy
  20. My boss has a 1100 as well and I rode it once last year and I have to say its well balanced but it feels like a little bike to me and I gotta have the fairing & windshield for sure got spoil to that very much. Hey Jay did you find your face when it froze off. Buddy
  21. Yes I know its not a Venture sorry But Peg is happy. That matters the most to me!!!! We took it out ridding today and put on 150mi Peg's back did not hurt once. She said it rode better than the GL1500 and the 83 beast was too small for us - me really. Everybody that met Peg knows she is skinny so putting her in the Gold Wing seat made her look even smaller. Now if Yamaha had a seat & backrest like the Wing we would have bought it for sure. The Second Gen. has more leg room we Also like the body style too. But the Wing had more seating room. So we Give up one feature for another I guess you might say. So if you see a Dark red metallic Gold Wing at the M&E or Rallies it will be US outcast... Buddy
  22. Sorry JT, No sir I donot know him. Looked up his name and had no info. Falco has not been on since 9-2006 so its been a while.
  23. OK guys promise not to get too mad. 2008 GL1800 Gold Wing. We test drove a demo and found it to be the best ride for Peggy and I got to pick the color. (Dark red metallic ) closest I could get to the color Black cherry Venture The color I wanted is still in the crate so we will pick it up Saturday. But before I sign the final papers it will be test driven first.... Its not the fancy one its the base line GoldWing . Dont need heated seats my big rear takes care of that...
  24. Popeye, I remember seeing your bike in Eureka springs last year. Your bike was a knock out. You dint need head lights you had all that chrome . Yes your Venture was very nice indeed no bad looking spots at all. Hard to beleive that these photos are of your old Venture. Did he say anything about the VIN# matching? on the bike...
  25. OK most of you know I did buy a 88 GL1500 Wing not long ago, Well my son was looking for a big bike too but could not pay the money all at once so I am letting him buy my GL1500. In turn I 'm buying a brand new bike:). I went to some dealers this week looking and driving a few Ventures. I won't name dealers that I been to since some of them gave me a bad time & bad service. there were couple of the bikes I wanted to test drive but being new they would not let me unless I pay first sorry I don't play that game. Another dealer let me ride a very nice midnight series but the transmission was too noisy for me and hear Peg talking to me, also kinda hard to turn in slow turns as well may have just been me. Found a black cherry boy it was pretty but the dealer wanted 18,999.00 and would not come down any at all while the other ones were in the 16,800-17,000. Anyway I was looking at another Midnight series and it was very nice, transmission was nice too not so loud as the other one. Peg got on a Second Gen (demo) black cherry and we took it out for a good long drive but the back rest was hurting her back some ... I was hoping she could ride a Second Gen. but she needs a full length back rest to help support her upper back area on long trips. Another reason why I ride the 83 beast solo now. So I signed the papers today on a 2008 dark red bike , sorry not Second Gen. I rather not say what it is right now, I might get hung out to dry..... The new bike has a nice smooth ride and Peg can ride it with her back condition. Sure did like riding the Second Gen. this is a nice riding bike for sure......Sorry it dint work in my favor. Sorry guys I received a PM today about a bike for sale, If I known sooner I would have waited on signing the papers at the bank and checked it out. Sorry
