  1. This was my thought too, especially with the Air-cooled twin, belt drive, and the look...
  2. I'm disappointed to see that they do not have a picture of the dash on the Stratoliner Deluxe...
  3. This is very interesting. I found the response was very interesting too. When I started it I figured it was going to be some b.s. just defending their product, but, it seemed very well written and it was nice to see some intelligent discussion about why they felt their tests were up to snuff etc. I too would encourage everyone to go through this. Thanks for the info!
  4. Yikes! I'll have to say that one of my biggest fears is something crawling in my ears... Sounds like you are on the right track though! Good luck! Hope everything comes out okay!
  5. I do not believe that Wal-mart is a Ride-On dealer. Maybe, this is a big maybe, some of their tire centers will offer to put it in for you, but I have not seen or heard that anywhere. http://www.ride-on.com/retail_store_locator.asp You have to call a number to find the store nearest you, but this may be of help. Maybe someone else will chime in with more information...
  6. I did not see the Wagner 4449 on the list. This is what I have in mine, I do not have the specs on it offhand but when I picked up my bike there was a Yamaha one in the left spot lamp and the 4449 in the right and I couldn't tell a difference between the two. I got them for 15 a piece. Great info though kite! Thanks
  7. This does make a lot of sense. As long as nothing dramatic happens to Yamaha between now and then...
  8. It is an Air-cooled V-twin... I'll pass on that for sure. Maybe if I didn't live in Texas. And for that price tag, I'd go look at an American made H-D.
  9. I finally got a response from him with a picture. At least it matches what he claimed on ebay.
  10. If you take out the bulb, you can access the bolt/nut that tighten the housing to the bar itself. If you loosen that up you should be able to adjust them a little bit. I'm not sure this will give you the direction that you want, but as far as I know that is the only place to adjust them. It has been a while since I messed with mine though so there may be something else but that is a place to start at least. Oh, if the shop was working on them you may want to double check where the bar is mounted to the bike - make sure those bolts are tight. If they are loose the lights will point down some. Hope that helps
  11. COOL! Thanks for sharing!
  12. I had read a while back that someone had drilled a very small hole in the bottom of both of the front turn signal housings (after they had cleaned or replaced the turn signals due to corrosion) and after that hole was put in they have not have any problems with corrosion.
  13. Glad he is okay too. Hopefully he has learned something from this adventure...
  14. Congrats!
  15. I saw a set of Bubs that had the chrome end caps flat-blacked and I thought it looked pretty good. They had sanded it smooth then blacked it out. It looked better than being flaked off anyways. Good luck with yours!
  16. The 2010 Goldwings are out too...
  17. Hey slick - I guess today you lived up to your name
  18. This depends on the mp3 player. If you are going to run it through the gps, you probably just put it on a memory card and stick it in the GPS. If this is the case then either would be relatively easy. If you have to use an interface cable then it will depend on which computer interfaces with the GPS better. My guess is the windows box. Windows media player is setup to sync to memory cards or things that it recognizes as mp3 players when devices get plugged into it.
  19. No problem. Where about are you in Michigan? We've got several members up there. (And I have a lot of family up there...) There is absolutely NO reason your stator should not be covered under your 5 year unlimited mileage warranty. Good luck! It is probably unlikely that a dealer will have one in stock, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
  20. Jerry: If you are going to make this and want to ride down there together let me know. It looks like I might be able to make this one too.
  21. Mark: Welcome to the site. If you have an 06 - you should still be under the 5 year warranty, contacting a trusted dealership may be in order. To answer your questions; yes some have had to replace their stator. And somewhere on this site, there is a service manual available for download. If you poke around a little bit you should be able to find plenty of information on the stator (replacing, etc.) and the service manual. You can verify the stator is the problem by checking the voltage at the battery while the bike is running, or by checking the stator resistance with the white, 3-plug wire harness that comes out of the stator. You can find that by taking off the two side panels and center panel as well as the coolant reservoir (it is almost dead center under the center panel below the battery box). The resistance should be between .279 and .341 ohms. The voltage measured should be between 13.5 and 14 volts. I'm sure others will jump in with their advice as well. Good luck! I believe you can use the 'search' tool on the forum if you join. - Rick M. Hope that helps.
  22. No, Family power sports... I cannot stand the folks at Watts.
  23. I guess I am pretty lucky... My local dealership sells their tires slightly above their cost. Last time I was there ( I was giving a buddy a ride home - he was getting tires on his) I priced out a set of E3s for mine. Rear was $109 and the front was something like 70 or 80 bucks. On top of that they keep these ON HAND (they only have Dunlops on hand) and anything they don't have they can get next day. I just hope these folks don't change owners any time soon.
  24. Actually someone had just mentioned this yesterday: [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=40400]Avon Cobra mounted - VentureRider.Org[/ame] And a few others: [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=35393]New frount corba radial - VentureRider.Org[/ame] [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24425]Front Radial - VentureRider.Org[/ame] For some of these you may want to try to contact these members directly to see if they ended up going through with it or not and what their thoughts are/were. I have no experience with radials on a bike. Good luck!
  25. Terrific!
