Good Morning readers, here's a special additional edition of our continuing saga. We bring you a special report from the Toronto International Airport! When we last left Bongo Bob he was approached by a stranger while attempting to catch up with what appears to be a reunion of Ventureriders. The stranger appears to have a gun or sometrhing in his pocket. The stranger speaks to Bongo and says "Hey Stephano, wassa matter you, you no recognise your buddy Salvatore??" Thinking fast, Bongo states "No, Sal, sorry, itsa gotta be these sunglasses I gotta wear to avoid beeing seen. I also gots a sore throat, you better keep your distance Pizonne." So Sal explains to Bongo that he's glad to run into him as he has an important shipment for him and that he was heading down to see him and that's why he was at the airport. What is it asks Bongo. It's a shipment of some special ingredient for a new client we picked up. Something to do inthe baking business, I'm not sure. Glancing over he notices Saddlebum, Marcarl, and OMG who he hasn't seen in several years are walking away... What is the secret ingredient? What could Bongo ever do with it when Sal gives it to him? Why is OMG at the airport without Mother? Is she heading to Newfoundland?? Stay tuned for another special episode whenever I feel like it or our other writers pick up the story on As The Wheels Turn!!!

The twinkie covers, for you that have never seen them, are the discontinued chrome v shaped covers that go over the ends of the breather or "twinkie" that sets on top of the engine between the front and rear heads below the carbs. The pictures in the thread show the twinkie below the choke knob. Several members have them and I'm searching for a pair for myself...

Carberator Swap Procedure
bongobobny replied to GolfVenture's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
What Pedar said! You may have to be forceful getting the carbs off the boots even with the clamps loosened, I ended up using a pry bar to break them loose... -
Air compressor solenoid. You can take it apart but are you sure the problem is the solenoid? Could be corroded connector or broken solder connection on the controller main connector. Temp gauge. The sensor is on the right side towards the front and around the fairing sub frame. The wires can come unplugged fairly easily. Also the gauge itself can go bad as well as the connection to the dash. Brake sensor. It is a float with a magnet and a reed switch inside the resovoir of the master cylinder. There are 2 wires that have butt type connectors to them. You can disconnect the wires and then short them together to test the circuit to see if the reed switch is good or not. Fairing removal is necessary to do this. Cassette. The earky Standard (not Royale) versions have pockets where the the radio goes. They make great glove boxes. Yuo may want to try to fabricate sides for the cavity where the cassette goes and find a blank cover from a Standard and cut out an area to use as a cover for your boxed out area so it will match. You could always hinge it. What you want to do is go to Forums, First Gen Tech Library - Read Only for an electronic copy of the service manual, wiring diagrams and all soerts of helpful "how to" write ups. Welcome to the site!!!

To our readers, here is an add on to today's story... As Bongo Bob watches the person he thought was Saddlebum walk away, he sees him stop to talk to another person. In the distance he sees it is another familiar looking person. Could it be?? Why, yes, it looks like Evan!! As he starts to walk over to the two people he is inturupted by a stranger asking him where did he get those cool looking sun glasses?? Are they Oakleys?? Trying to be polite he answers the strangers questions. He notices the stranger's hand is in his jacket pocket and it appears to be something else in his pocket as well. He looks over to the two familiar looking people and notices some other people have joined them. One looks like Father Time, and another, a female, OMG!! it looks like... What is in the stranger's pocket?? OMG who is the female?? Is Bongo really wearing Oakleys?? Stay tuned for further answers as soon as the writers can think of answers to these and other questuions on "As The Wheels Turn" (que organ music)
