1. Good thread. I carry a few of these items, but many more to choose from I hadn't thought about. One item I added was one of these from Harbor Freight. Pretty useful in a pinch. Oh, and don't forget the bailing wire.
2. Going backward in order to go forward! Heh heh, I did like the Segway. But ending the 2nd video w/ Come Sail Away??? Blech! Shoulda been Metallica's Fuel or something like that. Gimme fuel, gimme fire, gimme that which I desire. Oooohhh yeahah!
3. I was gonna say Texas too. Economy seems ok there. I was in Dallas a few weeks ago and it seemed to be thriving. Lots of bikes out and about, and you can ride almost year round.
4. Been dabbling with linux too. Win 8 is just horrid. Looks like a dang cell phone.
5. Are there any radio knobs available? Or is there a suitable sub? Knob was missing when I bought the bike. The previous owner said someone liberated it from the bike one day.
6. Love my Sony Bravia too. Many of my personal electronic items are Sony. Hard to beat.
7. I like how it looks, but seems like it would've been easier just to clean up a V-Max.
8. Ok , I appreciate the tips! I know where I can borrow a chunk of flat plate.
9. Can anyone tell me if and how much the cv slides should bounce while the engine is running? If I blip the throttle just a bit, they move quite a bit. Does this indicate a problem? Starting to take the carbs out and apart and man they are dirty!
10. Good on ya! As an ex smoker myself, I can tell you it's the best thing you can do for your health. But you already know that.
11. I'm sure interested! I'm new to the Venture, but not new to riding. However, all my riding has been short, sport touring type, one day out and back at most. I'd be interested in knowing what you take and how you pack it. Do you have a way of carrying drinks and snacks within easy reach? Is it even necessary?
12. Luv it. Well done, respectful, I think.
13. Nice! Beautiful area. Used to go there a lot as a kid. Now I go through on occasion when traveling between OKC and El Paso.
14. The pic with the trailer attached to the Jeep is off the Harbor Freight web site. Lemme look and see if I have any good HF coupons. Edit: Sorry, expired last weekend, nothing new in the inbox
