I want to get my hands on old coils that anyone has taken off when suspecting them to be bad. Interested in coils from any models, but particularly 2nd gens. I have an old automotive oscilloscope that I want to use to try and identify what the "normal" cause of the failure is, and if there is anything we can do about it. In addition, I would like to see if I can devise some sort of test that anyone can use (without a scope or special tools) to accurately identify a bad coil. If you have changed one or more and are just going to toss the old coils, will you please send them to me instead? PM me and I'll send you my address. You can just slip one or more into a free Priority Mail flat-rate envelope (no weight limit) for $4.95. I'll gladly send you the $5 postage. Goose

Just a thought but with so many sightings of ventures lately an idea came to me this morning. Would it be possible to design/produce decal(s) for our Organization that could be placed in designated locations on the front fairing and rear trunk that would both advertize to others and identify a current Venture rider? maybe include our CB channel? Under this one could always place their Username? Or has someone already thought of this?

Greetings all, Just had a look at a review of the 2012 Second Gen and it includes a photo of what is purported to be the motor of the bike. First time I've heard of an air cleaner for a 2G mounted between the pots. This hitch was fitted to my '86 VR when I bought it, and so far I have dismally failed to identify it. If you were at MD 2010, and see a picture with you in it, please post it and identify yourself in it, so that others may see what you look like. Wanted: Old "Bad" Venture Coils I put a temporary sticky with this message in the General Tech area, but since I haven't heard from anyone, thought I'd give it a try here too. I was hoping some of those coils that folks have recently replaced might still be laying around! I got too rough with the carb sync screw for #3 and stripped it out. I was looking at the parts fiche on Flatout but can't seem to identify the screw I need. Anyone know the part number or the screw size I need? Thanks. Carl
