  1. I used one of these ( http://cgi.ebay.ca/Universal-Motorcycle-Tail-Bag-NEW-MotoPak-GT-Roll_W0QQitemZ370204996179QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item5631eff253&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1215|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50 ) on a 2 week trip last summer and it was great, comes with a rain cover as well. It fits on the back seat like it was made for it.....and very easy to remove...I just used a strap on each side to attach it to the hand grips. (I put black duct tape on the speaker pods so it didn't rub) Keith
  2. I had a couple of spares made and tucked one of them away on the bike just in case! Keith
  3. Have a look at these Inst. Keith
  4. Put your stand on a block of wood until level......2-3/16" thick works for me...(I have leveling links installed) Keith
  5. I use a few shakes of baby powder in the briefs when on long trips. Keith
  6. I guess this is what you call a boom mat (speaker baffles). Found mine on E Bay. Keith
  7. There has to be an award for this goof!!!! I decided to go for a ride today and needed to fuel up about 50km's or so from home. When I stopped at the pump a guy started chatting to me so not really paying attention I filled my tank with Diesel fuel! When I went inside one of the young girls said to me "does your bike take diesel" I hadn't noticed the 3/4" Diesel letters on the pump or Diesel written on the nozzle cover with a black pen!! I owned a diesel Jetta a few years ago and always looked for the green nozzle and clearly marked separate pump. This one had regular gas on one side and diesel on the other. So need less to say panic set in.... I pushed it to the side and and got my hands on a gas can and drained it all out....took off the tank and got every last drop out. So if anyone is curious it took 21.475 liters (5.67 gallons) with the tank completely drained. One good thing.....I installed a Talon alarm last week and wasn't in the mood to remove the tank to run the wire for the indicator light.....that job is done now!! Just call me Dumba$$ Keith
  8. Well what can I say about the weather yesterday......it rained......it snowed....had a wicked thunder and lightening storm last night. I had to dig out the snow brush to clean off the car this AM......summer.....hmmmmmmmmm. Keith
  9. Here's my organized mess.....I have to turn bike around inside so I gotta keep it clean. The messy room is the bikes storage place for the winter....usually 6mths of the yr!!! That's my first big bike hiding under the cover...1977 Honda 750K.
  10. I just came across this site www.ctmcretreat.com/ maybe of some interest for those who plan a trip to the Cabot Trail Keith
  11. I am getting ready to order a SpeedoHealer and was wondering whats involved with setting it up? I don't have a GPS so is it a simple as setting the correction at 7.5% and getting someone to follow in a cage to check the accuracy and hope the cage is accurate ? There aren't any mileage markers around here so thats not an option. looking for ideas... Thanks Keith
  12. Hard to say Hulk...maybe contact Brad....seems like a good guy. Too bad they are shutting down and not supplying them any more. I was ready to place an order and but was having trouble placing an order - that when they came back and told me they were shutting down. Another victim of the recession ???? Keith
  13. I looked at buying a Talon alarm and couldn't get any satisfaction from them. This is the reply I received today on my inquiry. Too bad looked like a good product at a reasonable price. Nope, thats the last of them... forever. All other models will be sold out in the next month and we are shutting down for the summer. Brad Oh Well ! Keith
  14. Brad Just for info have a look at this site http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/ lots of info there on quality of dog food. Once you see the quality of some of the chain/grocery store foods you may rethink what you feed your dog. Keith
  15. Depending on how its shipped from the US will determine the charges. I would avoid UPS....you will get nailed with every charge there is! I have bought most all my accessories from the US (South Seattle). The most I have paid using USPS is the tax's, it seems anything under $100 they don't bother. The chaps I have hook over my belt and snap down no extra belt buckle. I was at a Screaming Eagle sale this weekend....most chaps $99. They said they are setting up a site in late April for online sales www.screaming-eagle.com ...from Montreal. Keith
  16. I just purchased a Piggy Backer XL and decided to have the tires balanced. Guy looked at me funny because I guess nobody balances trailer tires! It may have been a waste of money but at least now I know. All 3 were off...2oz...1-3/4oz....3/4oz. Lug Nuts are to be torqued to 100 ft-lbs Before I put the trailer together I had 4 straps made up with a "D" ring on the end and attached them with the hold down bolts. May never need them but if I want to use a cargo net or tie something down so it don't shift they are there. Now only another month or so and I can ride!!!!! (because of the snow that is!) Keith
  17. I just recently bought a Piggy Backer and have been reading about loading etc. have a look at this link may be some useful info there. Keith http://www.motorcycletrailer.com/tlrload1.htm http://www.mctrailerguide.com/

  19. I can't help you with the dull finish but I use "Bugs Be Gone" for the bug removal. Best I have ever used to remove bugs. Its made by the same people that make Seafoam and available at NAPA. I always carry a spray bottle of BBG with me and a wet towel...works wonders. Keith
  20. I had both mine replaced last year. I was getting a strong gas smell and could feel where the exhaust was leaking from in behind the Y. Here's a pic of one of them....I guess its leaking in the area where the soot is ? Keith
  21. My son has a scar from his belly button to just below his breast bone because a guy decided not to use safety chains on a snowmobile trailer. It popped off and hit him while he was standing on a side walk. This was a few years ago and all is fine. So should you use chains...YES SIR! Keith
  22. I thought this was kind of interesting for indoor storage. A guy in my local town has one for his HD. 23. Here are some pics of the insides of the stock mufflers that I saved from somewhere ....maybe this site ? Keith
  24. I just started working in the service department of a Honda Auto Dealership (looking for work for 2 years) and there is a class action suit in Canada against Honda regarding the odometer being out around 4%. I guess its an issue for lease vehicles if people are on the edge when they return a vehicle and have to pay for extra Km's. Honda have agreed to give allowance if the car odometer is out by that amount and the customer has a lease/warranty issue. Keith
  25. I will have my Piggybacker XL here tomorrow.....sad part is with all the charges at the border and exchange what I will have left from $2000 may buy a tank of gas ! Keith
