  4. Jeff Not something I am familiar with and have not heard of much discussion about it. Do you have the service manual? Keith http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1828 You can download the service manual at this link
  5. My step son is a text messenger junkie ! He has free long distance on his cell phone as well as texting as part of the package. He don't use the calling part of it at all. Last bill I saw he had 2950 out going and 2800 incoming texts. Glad he has a package because our provider charges .15 for incoming and outgoing.....that could be expensive ....for him ! Letters are to darn small on my phone !! Keith
  6. I'm in the process of installing new grips as well. Here are some pictures for those who have't done this process yet. Hope it helps. I'll add more as I go along. I used a Dremel tool and it took approx 5 min per grip making sure not to make it too hot. I added a few more pic's....it may be of some help to someone tackling the grip replacement. I wish I could see that locating pin in the back half of the switch housing !!! And only 3-4 months and I can try them out!!! Keith
  7. Look through the Similar Threads section on the bottom of this page......some pictures in there I'm sure. Keith
  8. I'm a bit of a music freak and have close to 10,000 Cd's in my collection. If you want to get a collection of various tunes the Harley Davidson Collection is pretty good....I have 8 of them and not sure if there is more. Keith
  9. I bought the Progressive pump 0-30 psi and thought it would do for both but I pushed it a little to far for the rear shock and it busted. So I ended up buying the next size up 0-60psi. Keith
  10. John Go down to the bottom of this post and look at similar threads.....should be some info there Keith
  11. I have the Yamaha rack on mine and have used it often for light loads. I did read somewhere maybe in the instructions to chamfer the edges of the holes after you drill them to avoid any cracking. Keith
  12. I just left the excess alone....tried to fold it over and stick it on but in won't stay. It don't interfere with anything. Keith
  13. Bill I should also mention that Mic-Mutes are a good idea as well. I wouldn't do with out them now that I have them. Keith http://mic-mutes.com/
  14. Hi Bill I have had the HS-8146-OF J&M's for a couple of years now and have had no problem with them what so ever. I think they are the same as the HS-8154. Some of the people here have also tried EDsets with good success. I think its best to get some opinions before you buy because more expensive in this case is not necessarily the better choice. Do a search under headsets or intercom and you should come up with lots of info. Keith
  15. Does this chart help ? Keith
  16. This is a pic of my rear pads vs new pads @ 21,000KMS (13,000 Miles) Total on bike 32,250 KMS Keith

  18. I haven't replaced by front pads yet and they looked good when I checked them last. I did chamfer the edges tho. I read somewhere that that helps eliminate any squeel. I didn't have a squeel so I can't tell you if it helped or not. Keith

  23. You can't go wrong with the 3M brand of tape....should find it in the Auto Section. I don't have the Yamaha Bib but this is how I mounted the cord holder on mine. I added an elastic later to hold the plug up rather than possibly rubbing on the tank. Keith
  24. Well it took awhile but everyone was calling her Puss......cat lovers of course!!! Finally decided to call her Jessie....... Keith
  25. I brought my remote to the electronics shop and had them put a push button on it and mounted it next to the accessory outlet in the faring.....the remote I just taped inside the faring. After I installed it I gave it a good treatment with dielectric grease. all it cost me was the price of the push button $4-$5 Keith
