Tie GPS to Intercom - input from electronics gurus please
Marcarl replied to MiCarl's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Mine owrks just fine,,,, Mother made a cable for me,,,, send him a PM and ask him how it's done. Works quite simple, plugs into the cassett deck input in the amp and comes with a switch. I think it does everything it's supposed to. Carl -
Just thought to post how the upgrades are coming along. The house is not p 5icture perfect just yet,,, but shop is getting real workable. #1,2,3 are of the shop where the work is supposed to be done. #4 is a shot of where Marca gets to leave my coffee. # is where I get to drink my coffee As you may notice, Blondie has also arrived for her annual visit. Let's hope she behaves herself this time. Carl

When I went looking for a touring bike, I checked out the affordable wings,,,,84,85,87. Then I tried my friends 96 \ 1500. The results were all the same, The price was right, but I thought the seat had to change, it just wasn't comfortable, it kept pushing me forward. The I sat on a Venture,,,,aaaahhhhhhhh,,,, that's what I was looking for,,, then just had to find one that suited me for the rest of scoot. I did, and paid cash fo it. Now if I went and bought a Wing,,, what would all you folks do without me. I'd have to join a Wing forum, and I have only enough time to keep up with one forum at a time,,,, 'sides, what would I do all winter with nothing to upgrade or maintain????

Well if Rocket don't have it and Black Owl wants it, and everybody else can't seem to do without it, I'll need one as well. Don't know what I'll use it for just yet, seeing as my head is just about perfect, and I don't want to go screwing around with something that don't have any problems, but I'm sure I find a good use for it sooner or later,,,,,,, we do have VentureRiders visiting here on occasion, so the time might come. Yes, I could use one. Carl

Hal said I should try the unscented soap that hunters use. I bought some this week. Will try it out next time I take a shower to see if it smells good. I should know before summer.

As some of you know, we have been dealing with the Ontario government for the last year on an issue regarding a licence for curing and smoking our own product. During that time we had to deal with and through Leona Dombrosky. She has seen been replaced by Carol Mitchell, member of parliment for Huron Bruce. I wonder if anyone would care to comment on who she is, what her focus might be etc, so that when I send her a letter I might be better informed as to how to say things and word pharse it.

Any fitting on the swing arm needs to be a nice tight fit, so that there is no play. It's also a good idea to provide a way to lub these bearing points. The instuctions on how this may be done can be found in the tech secton.

She deserves some time off the way you work her to the bone. Let her rest a bit and then bring her out to the garage and show her what chrome looks like. After that give her the keys to the car, so that she can go job hunting,,,, but wait at least 'til morning eh?

Avon tire questions
Marcarl replied to Dieseldawg's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Just a little thinking here as well. Tire states max tire pressure and max load. Maybe add up your load, bike, gear and rider(s), then divide it all somehow so that it works out as to how much load you have on each tire. Now you have the load on the tire, which might be increased a little depending on how you ride. Now check to see how close you are to max load, and then adjust pressure to suit. As we inflat the tire, we have less contact patch which is the all important secton between us and the road, it provides traction, for cornering and braking, the less you have, the slicker things get. If we run too soft, we have a heating up problem and a side roll issue along with the fact that the rubber will let loose. Too hard and we loose traction and keep the rubber too cool to flex properly. JMT Carl -
It has everything that the 660 has????? well the 660 didn't have the 999, what ever that is for.

Every morning it's a new day, and with each new day comes zero points. If you make 100 points in the morning you stand to loose a quick 100 points on your first mis-step, so best to wait until close to the end of the day to make points, that way maybe they'll pay off before it's lights out. JMT Carl PS, Good going Gary, you must have timed it right.
