  1. Left side of scooter, hidden behind passenger floor boards. Has on, off and reserve.
  2. The vaccum gauge gave you an indication of the amount of fuel you were using. The vaccum was taken directly from the intake manifold, and the more vaccum you could maintain the better for fuel. Some other brands also used vaccum for things such as windshield wipers and so it was kind of handie to have a visual on the available vaccum. These vehicles would have had a vaccum tank and so then the gauge was hooked to the tank. Let's see how right I am when some of the old gezzers jump in with all the real facts. Carl

  5. A couple of thoughts for you. First, is the market for land situation. The heirs, who ever that might be, would most likely not be interested in land, but rather in cash, so they would not be interested in having a hunk of land dumped into their lap and then have to deal with selling it. As it is right now, it is 'sold' and they just have to wait for money,, that brings in item,, #2. The lawyer stands to make money on this deal as long as it is in motion. If you were to pay off the debt then he would be done and no more income for him, but if you negotiate a deal for a longer term mortgage, with the estate, then he has more work to do, the more years the better for him, so this might be a good deal for you in the end. Don't be afraid to push your weight around a bit, you have money invested and proof of that, so you are holding some cards,,,, not sure how good they are, but they are cards and can be used. Another thought would be that if they pushed you, to pay in full, and you can't or won't, then maybe they would have to 'buy' you out, so now they have to come up with cash before they sell, which they might not want to do, or can't do, either. Carl
  6. The other place to check is the little hose at the bottom center of the rad. It can weep just a bit and not leak on the floor. Hard to discover, not a hard fix. Carl

  18. When I went looking for a touring bike, I checked out the affordable wings,,,,84,85,87. Then I tried my friends 96 \ 1500. The results were all the same, The price was right, but I thought the seat had to change, it just wasn't comfortable, it kept pushing me forward. The I sat on a Venture,,,,aaaahhhhhhhh,,,, that's what I was looking for,,, then just had to find one that suited me for the rest of scoot. I did, and paid cash fo it. Now if I went and bought a Wing,,, what would all you folks do without me. I'd have to join a Wing forum, and I have only enough time to keep up with one forum at a time,,,, 'sides, what would I do all winter with nothing to upgrade or maintain????
  19. The real question is,,,,,,can she cook?????????? Maybe I could find some free time,,,,don't let Marca see this, or she will find more painting for me to do.
  20. Well if Rocket don't have it and Black Owl wants it, and everybody else can't seem to do without it, I'll need one as well. Don't know what I'll use it for just yet, seeing as my head is just about perfect, and I don't want to go screwing around with something that don't have any problems, but I'm sure I find a good use for it sooner or later,,,,,,, we do have VentureRiders visiting here on occasion, so the time might come. Yes, I could use one. Carl
  21. Hal said I should try the unscented soap that hunters use. I bought some this week. Will try it out next time I take a shower to see if it smells good. I should know before summer.

  23. As some of you know, we have been dealing with the Ontario government for the last year on an issue regarding a licence for curing and smoking our own product. During that time we had to deal with and through Leona Dombrosky. She has seen been replaced by Carol Mitchell, member of parliment for Huron Bruce. I wonder if anyone would care to comment on who she is, what her focus might be etc, so that when I send her a letter I might be better informed as to how to say things and word pharse it.
  24. Any fitting on the swing arm needs to be a nice tight fit, so that there is no play. It's also a good idea to provide a way to lub these bearing points. The instuctions on how this may be done can be found in the tech secton.
  25. They're just there to make little boys ask questions and have old men dream dreams.
