  1. Sounds to me like you have a keeper, better look after both of them well.
  2. Amy has a birthday????? When was the last one???? She don't look old enough to have one yet,,,, but I guess somehow she's got to keep up with Tom. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY,,,,, enjoy the next year in good health with lots of smiles.
  3. Nothing makes healing go as fast as a good reason to do it,,,,, I know, work and income is generally a good reason, but not nearly as good a as good ride. Enjoy your new toy, looks good, you two ride with pleasure.
  4. If memory serves me correctly,,,, if you loosen the rad you can then loosen the front headers enough to do the job. The rad is held in place with 4 screws, so wouldn't take a lot to find out. You only need enough room to be able to lower the collector so that the bracket clears the oil pan.
  5. My 85 did that 2 times, both times after or during riding on some fresher tar and chip. I found a stone stuck in the wiring on the bottom of the oil pan,,, since then it hasn't happened again, but then I have not been riding on any tar and chip either.
  6. Found just what we were looking for,,, still some work to be done,,,,,OH crap!!! it's sold!!!
  7. WHAT????? The Warden up on the roof and no PICTURES,,,, do we dare believe it???
  8. The only real way you are going to know if it's charging is to check it with a volt meter. It doesn't need to be an expensive one, but would be nice if it was digital. Then you can see what the battery shows when still, and what it shows with the engine running. You can also check by how in either case how bright the lights are, but it doesn't give you anything real to go on. A multimeter is a real worthwhile investment. I have several, mostly cheap ones, 10 bucks or so, because when I needed one it was cheaper to buy on than to go back home to fetch one. The left side of the scoot is left when you're sitting on it,,, the side that is not left, is the right side, or wrong side, depends on how you look at it,,,,, now I've even confused myself.
  9. From what I can gather, it's not charging. Could be a number of issues that can cause this. Are the battery terminals clean and tight, and are they tight on the cable. There is a 3 wire and a 5 wire connector on the left side of the bike. With the motor off, take these apart and clean them, check them also for any over heating\burning. Add some dielectric grease to keep things in good shape. Your system should show more than 13 volts with a fully charged battery. Obviously the stator is charging, but not enough to keep things going. With the bike running at 2000rpm, and a fully charged battery, you should get a reading of around 14 volts.
  10. Is that his older brother or younger brother?
  11. You'll have to give us some more info: What do you mean by sticky, Does it get fuel. What makes you think it's not working.
  12. Just use the original wires to feed a relay which in turn will feed the horn. For good instant response the horn should be fed directly from the battery, a relay will do that.
  13. He's now in the group,,, as well as you.

    Lunch date

I was going to come over,,,but I see you are already busy.
  15. Did you take it apart,,,, I would think you could probably clean and adjust.
  16. For you guys that carry a string kit on your scoot. I believe that it comes with a glue if I'm not mistaken. Last week I went to use a brand new never been used kit and the glue was all evaporated,,, you may want to check that.
  17. Ok, now I'm going to be serious,, maybe: 1) Keep in mind we are the best in what we do when we are enjoying what we're doing, so if he doesn't want to ride, for a day, or forever, he is not going to be his best at it if he should ride at that time. And we all know we need to be at our best when we ride or it just ain't safe. 2) Life is a funny thing. We need to live with ourselves as well as with others and others need to live with us. Change happens, in our lives as well as the lives of others, sometimes the effects of change are positive and sometimes not. What makes a relationship beautiful is how these changes are dealt with within that relationship. There is give and take, but we should mainly focus on the give. Funny thing is that the more we give the more we seem to receive, and the more we take the less we seem to get. So something has changed, and it seems to be affecting you a lot. There are 2 ways to look at issues in ones life. If you have an issue, you first need to define if it's a problem (something a person can do something about) or a situation (something one can't do anything about). If it's a problem, you can investigate the best approach to effect change around the issue, if it's a situation then it's time to effect change with ones self so that it makes life easier and nicer to live. That's called attitude adjustment. Sounds harsh when you first hear it, but when used becomes a real bonus in ones life, for like it or not, we like\love things or dislike\hate things entirely on our take, or attitude toward things in our life. So far, it seems that you have not been able to effect change, so for now it may be a situation and it's getting under your skin and is going to cause more serious problems, so make an attitude adjustment,,, at least for now. In time, things may change around and you'll find that you made need to adjust that attitude again, but for now, life is flying by and you may be missing out on some other valuable things in your territory because you're so hung-up on one thing. Now that I've re-read what I wrote I can say: Boy, that looks easy!,,,,, not quite as easy as it looks from my end,,, I know that,,,,, and I do sympathize with you,,,, but I also want to see that each day goes well with you, not just some here and there. Hope this helps. Carl
  18. Ya,,,,, but then I wasn't a moderator,,,, and now I is, WE NEED PICTURES!!!!!
  19. You got to start earlier in the mornings,, before sun-up.
  20. So now I would like this clarified. I have an 85 Royale and have removed the cassette deck. Do you have a cable that will let me use my helmet set to talk to my phone through the blue tooth Zumo 660.
  21. And who said there was no such thing as a stupid question,,,,,,, he was probably right, but maybe he never met BradT,,, or MarCarl,,,, oh wait, you wanted a smart answer. Brad this is all your fault, now you got me rambling again.
  22. Was yours the only one there????????? Somebody had to say it, and I can still run f------a-------s-------t. Congrats Annie,,, you deserve it.:happy65:
  23. It is important that the piston comes all the way back, so there should be just a wee bit of play between the lever and the piston when it's relaxed or the piston won't be back far enough to 'breath' through the holes that Squeeze was talking about.
  24. I'll a lot of Yammi dealers will be all upset now that the news is out with the price drop,,,, only $13,000.00. Now who's going to pay 20 grand for an 2012?
  25. If nobody can, then He still can,,, we'll just ask if He will. After all, He made us and the rest of the world, we can't screw it up so bad that He can't fix it. Prayer sent!
