  1. If it's the 83 you are working on, careful with those 6 bolts, they break easy, only 5 point 8 foot pounds torque.
  2. With crappy weather that is the best time for SeaFoam. 1 tank of gas or less, full can of seafoam, run it for about 20 minutes, then shut off. After that, start it up when ever you think of it, at least 2 x per day to get fresh seafoam into the idle circuit. If this take a week, so much the better, it gives the product time to work it's magic.
  3. Nice to see that this thread didn't make it all the way south. Glad to see you guys can get yourselves out of trouble. Interesting discussion, a little bit of undoing and then an effort on healing,,, real family! I'll reserve my comments for now.
  4. Ya forget about the lube part, I took another look at one and if you have to lube it, you'd best find another one.
  5. Darn that video makes it look easy,,,,, now how did he get two weeks of work done in just a few seconds.
  6. Congrats Warden, you must be an awesome woman for Dan, to pick you out of a crowd and still have you around.
  7. Along with all that stuff, my wife says I have to carry a half roll of TP, just in case I should end up at FreeBird's MD, and you should know you can't go there without some of that stuff.
  8. Hey Ray, he's not worried about the speedo just yet, it's the tach he has an issue with. Probably will do well with a little lubrication, but I have not heard of anybody doing it so far. If you do go to lube it, do the speedo at the same time. Golf& Venture makes a good tool for the speedo, check it out: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=69034
  9. That bowl empties out over night, there's another one that needs to have the handle pushed, and the cat says to leave hers alone. Last time I ran the scoot was Wed last week. Went to start it yesterday (Monday) and it took 2 full shots of pumping time to fill the bowls, that's my story and I'm sticking to it,,, maybe.
  10. Depends somewhat on the weather, but mine in S.Ontario will be dry in a week.
  11. Moved to post for you. Also have a carb bank available, but doesn't have the diaphragms.
  12. Made them ourselves, and had the stainless brackets\holders made at the local stainless shop here. Why? you want some?
  13. My handlebars are down low, but I've also added a little width to the windshield this winter. Will have to see how it all pans out for my lady, but for me so far,, it's plain good!
  14. Sure looks messy, took a good hit,,,, no wonder you ended up in sick bay for a while. Are you healing up ok now?
  15. Did notice that you are missing something though. I have a couple of sets left if you like. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=67117
  16. Getting it out is the easy part, putting it back in you have to hold your tongue just right,, and not that right, the other right,, or was it the middle right?????
  17. You didn't say anything about the spark plugs, so I would suggest you change those before doing much else. Also, don't go cheap on the plugs, go to a real auto supply store to buy them, maybe a bit more money, but the chances of them working is much better.
  18. To keep matters simple thee inside of the wheel where the axle goes through is made of 3 main pieces. Two bearings and a long spacer that goes from bearing to bearing. The spacer can move from side to side at one end to allow one to drive out the outer race of a bearing from the opposite side. It takes a little bit of care, but that's how the manual says to do it and it does work. Not sure if both sides of the spacer will move over to allow this, but I know one side will.
  19. Anytime you are ready, just let me know and they'll be on the way.
  20. Check out the following thread, hope it gives you enough info, if not, let me know. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=67117
  21. Real nice lookin scooter!
  22. Soooooo are you going to put all those pieces back on the gears?????? inquiring mind wants to know.
  23. That don't look so good,,, need to do a little fixing maybe I think. Glad you is OK. If you had taken your scoot you would have missed him, it takes at least 2 seconds to get your helmet on, and he would have been gone by the time you got there.
  24. Ya, I went to look to make sure Scamper was where I left it, then I noticed the backrest and the rear light bar that scamper don't have. Real nice looking scoot, one of a kind for sure. Noticed that you are missing the shiny lower side covers though, I have a few left, mirrored stainless, if you think you might need them.
