  1. NAH- leaves 'em looking the same - :rotf:
  2. I just tried couple of items as far as discounts go - I think the Seattle Sports has better pricing - they are offering 25% discount. Their website is located on this site somewhere.
  3. I don't have experience dropping my bike - which is similar - if not heavier - than the RSV. But, it did fall of a service bay at the dealer. The crash guards up front prevented damage - the handlebars had to be replaced - along with the light bar. The saddlebag rails held up - no problems to the sidebags. Don't know if this is your thing - and don't need to start a discussion here as you would either like or hate the bike - but the Victory Vision advertises that somehow that bike doesn't tip all the way over. I bet at some point it would - but from a standstill - etc - it's not supposed to the way I read it. Just my two cents
  4. HEY. Hope you heal up quickly - that looks nasty.
  5. Couple of more shots of Mark's house.
  6. Recently, many of us went on Condor's Rib Tickler ride - and visited this place - Mark Reiff's house in Woodland, CA. Approx. (7) years ago, he bought an old single gas pump - and put it in front of his house. One thing has led to another: he approx. approx. 25 old gas pumps, a diner, barbershop on the side of the house, the rear section of a plane/rear section of the car in the house, in the kitchen he has the front portion of an old Studebacker hanging on the wall that lights up at night, among a host of other favorites from an era gone by.
  7. WOW, I know what you mean about low flying birds. Last year I was on a ride through Marin County - by us - and low flying wild turkey's were everywhere. I thought maybe they were trying to get a close up view of my bike :rotf:, but that definitely was scary. Glad to hear you guys are OK.
  8. The bike on the right is standard off the showroom floor - the bike on the left has an after market backrest installed. I think many of the guys here go with either DiamondR Accessories or the Utopia backrest. Does that help?
  9. Hey, Don - have a great trip - learn alot at the sales meeting. I'm sure we'll all keep things nice and calm :rotf:here so you won't have to worry about anything .
  10. BOY, don't know what I was doing wrong - those darts barely came out of the barrel. :rotf:
  11. Hey, Lonna - with the great description you posted, doesn't the only "VR RULE" apply - pictures needed? :rotf: Have a good one.

  13. HMM, the guy probably forgot to tell his wife he was getting something more economical ?
  14. Kid is good - I see that thing sliding into that tree AND the car.
  15. Don, know how you feel. But for me, a dealer owning up to a mistake says volumes. My tale would be of (3) dealers. The one I bought my bike from was doing OK, I ordered more accessories - made an app't to have them installed - took the bike over - and after a week and a 1/2 after the app't, they still hadn't installed them. Always was an excuse - picked up my parts and left - never went back. If they would have been honest up front - I would have rescheduled. The second dealer in my area initially didn't want to work on my bike due to the paint job etc. - but because I was a local STAR member, took it in. Murphy's law - they accidentally dropped the bike off the lift. This dealer, however, rushed to the phone to notify me - and was totally honest. They took care of everything - having replacement parts fed-ex'd over night to be able to get the bike back on the road. At this dealership, I did appreciate the sincerity and the commitment to make everything right. The third dealer sponsors our STAR chapter - took the bike into them. Whereas they are accommodating, their attention to detail (i.e. installing power accessories) is very lacking. It seems as though their techs don't have basic technical skills. There is a 4th dealer here in my area, that appears that they don't even want to look at these big bikes - only the ATV's, small bikes. I don't know - I was in the office equipment industry for 20 years. We didn't make money selling the machines - we made money in service / maintenance. The industries are different - but I am sure the same theory would apply and these dealers are loosing a lot of money with their inadequate service departments. Just my two cents.
  16. I just clicked on it - seems to be working ok,.

I primarily listen to 6 - 60's and 7 - 70's. Though on Weds mornings I love catching 40 at 7AM (my time) for Bob Dylan's hour. Other than that, I'll catch 10 or 16 - or maybe even the Broadway Tunes channel.
  18. Hey, Snake - sweet looking ride -
  19. Hey, Pete - good luck choosing your helmet. I had a Shoei full face and liked it - very quiet - a little heavy. When I got the comm system this year, we switched to Nolan modular full face helmets. I was liking the article that Heather posted, until I continued reading about the wobble with the clear visor, fogging you could control with Zook (or something like that), the weight and the air flow. I also found on the Nolan that there is not much distance between the chin and the back of the chin bar - as that article was also relating to the Shoei. I also believe the Nolan isn't as "heavy" as the Shoei. One thing I might have learned - as a comparison - is that it seems the Shoei has a gasket at the hinges to "eliminate" some wind noise. My Nolan is very noisy (wind) - which was a great disappointment to me. I was told that moving from the Shoei full face - to the Nolan modular - that I went from a Cadillac to a VW in helmets. The Nolan does give me much more peripheal vision than the Shoei did - which I really like. I agree with the comment that you have to break these helmets in. Unfortunately, helmets are like motorcycle seats - you don't really know until you have them for a while - then - if you don't like 'em - what do you do with them:confused24:? Which ever way you go with this, . As an aside, my wife loves her Nolan. So, don't get frustrated, just take you time and read the various reviews on these helmets - you will find one.
  20. Thanks. I checked for fun at flying into the town of the event from here - it's like an additional $600.00 or so (at this time) and the plane went through Detroit. This might take me a while to work on - and budget for - but at least there is time to work on it. I was thinking it might be easier to get to Buffalo from here vs. Detroit as well.
  21. Hey, Mr. Rooster, looks like things are starting to come together for you as you move forward with this. I might need to ask this on a different thread: This would be a long haul for us - 4 - 5 days there / 4 -5 days back - + spending 3 or 4 days with everyone. Just was thinking about flying out somewhere and renting a bike - you mention Detroit and/or Buffalo. Anyone have any thoughts which might be better - or another suggestion?
  22. At least that is according to the patch design in the patch contest?
  23. HAPPY 40TH ANIIVERSARY, BUDDY!
