buying 07 need advice
50btripn replied to Bobcatpat's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I run 0 in front and 35 in rear. Tires I believe are at 36 psi for both...whatever the recommended pressures on the label in the truck. I am 6'1" 205#. -
100% usage, and always DOT approved. 1/2 in hot weather, full in cold weather.

Alabama's Attorney General, a few years back, sent out a "memo" to help clarify the law, and in a nutshell, any auxiliary lighting not installed by the manufacturer is unauthorized/illegal while on Alabama roadways. The "memo" came out after several tickets were issued by Montgomery P.D. for the neon lights under the vehicles, and the judge(s)/prosecutors wanted better clarification. You can have them installed, and sit in a parking lot with them on all night long, but once you hit the roadways, they have to be turned off, according to the "memo".

Passenger arm rest pads?
50btripn replied to Ferrantelli's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Wish I could help, but I just replaced my rear speakers, and the stock double sided tape held up well enough that I did not need to put anything else on there. Just gotta peel the armrests back carefully to reuse the stock tape. -
Having ridden both extensively, I can tell you, without a shadow of doubt, through my own personal experiences, the FIRST GEN would win, hands down. MUCH quicker than the 2nd Gen, and higher top end speed. The 1st Gen's would flat out fly!

Skeptical after all noise complaints
50btripn replied to Bobcatpat's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have an '07 with almost 14k miles...no noise problem on mine. -
Congrats on the new ride. BMW K12 is a great ride. I had the pleasure of trying one out a few years ago. My decision between the RSV and the K12 came down to $$$. The K12 handles like a dream, smooth, and...antilock brakes!! Enjoy it!!

Turning left on a red when the light won't change.
50btripn replied to juggler's topic in Safety and Education
If I am not mistaken, I believe in Alabama, there is a bill in Legislation as we speak (or type!!) to change or ammend the current law to allow for motorcyclists to proceed through a red light. But knowing the Alabama Legislature, they will add so much rhetoric and B.S., that when all is said and done and the dust settles...it will STILL be illegal for motorcyclists to proceed on red. -

I do like that boat trailer...if only I lived closer, I'd buy it in a heartbeat...as well as add a little more on top to help out. Best of luck to you Joe.

currently have 2 bikes: 2002 Kawasaki ZZR-1200. Had a 1996 Suzuki Katana 750 (my first ever sportbike). I got my behind spanked one day by a girl on a ZX600, so the next day I traded up to the ZZR. Wanted lots of power (which it has definitely got), but also wanted to stay in the Sport-Touring class. Have enjoyed many "short" trips, no longer than 4 hours, but mainly this bike is a LOT of fun around town. 2007 Midnight Venture. I rode a 1993 1st Gen for work. This bike could not be destroyed. I was finally forced to retire it. In 2007, I went on my first ever motorcycle rally, Thunder Beach, in Panama City, Florida. There was a Midnight Venture on display. I took it for a test ride and was hooked. A friend of mine who was with me also bought one, so the dealer gave us a pretty good deal (we think) for the sale to both of us. Anywho, the RSMV is for my long distance travelling now.

Good time to buy a morgan Carbtune
50btripn replied to timgray's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I think I am gonna break down and take advantage of this while the U.S. dollar is "strong". But I have a question. I have a 2007 Venture. The Morgan Carbtune website also advertises a "CARBTOOL"...with my 2007 Venture, is this carbtool necessity? -
Favorite: 1993 Yamaha Venture Royale ( I could not destroy this bike, it finally was "forced" into retirement) Next (and a VERY close 2nd): 2007 RSMV Next: 2002 Kawasaki ZZR-1200 ( what a rush to ride) Next: H-D Ultra Classic Next: 1995 Suzuki Katana 750 (altho I got my butt kicked by a female on a ZX-600, thus I traded up to the ZZR-1200) Next: BMW RT1150 Next (and definitely last): Any year Kawasaki KZ-1000 (what a piece of crap bike).

The Yamaha Star line as a whole, is not popular among thieves. No comparison with H-D, the choice among cruiser thieves. Of course, sportbikes are the bike of choice for the majority of your thieves

Is a Suzuki Katana really considered a sportbike?? Sorry, couldn't resist...just joking. Seriously tho, I have K&N in my ZZR1200 with no issues. I have not been told or heard anything negative about K&N in carburated sportbikes. Hopefully someone on here knows the answer. Have you tried "KatanaPlanet" forums? (I used to own a Katana 750, so I do have a little knowledge on it...VERY little...)
