Well, I am well into my bike trying to figure out what the heck my deal is (as per thread: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=68293) and have it basically narrowed down to the ignition unit or the lean/tilt/angle/bank sensor. The service manual has it labeled on page 8-3 as an "Emargency stop switch" (spelling accurate as per service manual, which made me chuckle). I have also 'located' it on the parts fiche (Part 54 on "Electrical 1" 2001 RSV [not that the year matters): (EMERGENCY STOP SWITC 4BH-82576-01-00 (replaces 4BH-82576-00-00)) Now, my problem is I cannot find the darn thing on my bike. I have checked behind both lower cowlings, under the tank, along the neck and I cannot for the life of me find it! 1. Get a (mercury?) tilt switch and any toggle switch, (10 amp?) I had a tilt switch laying around from Radio Shack for years. From pink wire side of the horns (or experiment), won't hurt anything, go the the toggle switch then to the tilt switch then to ground. The tilt switch will be tilted on an angle so it is off when the bike is on the side stand, but once the bike is pulled upright to ride (or be stolen) the tilt switch makes contact. Horns go off (if it is hot wired). 2. To make it work any time, just disconnect the brown wire to both horns and run a fused wire from the battery to both horns. Horns now will work anytime with the tilt switch or the horn button. Locate switches in one of the locked side pockets of the fairing. Very simple, very loud, very unexpected, very cheap. May want to cover electrical connectors at the horns so they can't be disconnected. Mercury switches maybe banned, I'm sure other types are available.

Learned 2 things yesterday. 1) the tilt trailer I bought was not a good idea. Ramps are better. 2) RSV's are really heavy when they have your left leg trapped between it and your new tilt trailer. Now for the real reason for the post: The only thing damaged on the bike during my little mishap was a broken left side lower fairing. I need one and would rather get it from someone here than ebay, craigslist, etc. I would even make a "fairing donation" to Freebird over and above what I pay for the part to help defray cost of running this site. So, if anyone has one laying around, please pm me. I've only had her since Thanksgiving and seeing it like this is really bumming me out. I ride a 00 RSV MM. I would prefer to get one from a millenium but it doesn't have to be.
