  1. Did you find out what the problem was? Your main fuse panel is behind the side cover in the area you described.-Jack
  2. Max pressure will actually extend the tire life. They will flex less, causing less heat which equals less wear.-Jack
  3. The last D404 I had on the rear was showing cord at 2,500 miles. Never again.-Jack
  4. God please not the dreaded cassete player thread....again.
  5. You could have done like this guy!
  6. It's virtually impossible to design and build a bike to fit the ergos of every rider. They design it to fit the "average". Unfortunately few riders are "average". The good news is with some time and effort and probably less than $1000 you can alter the bike to suit you perfectly. As Yamaha states in their ads. "We build it, you make it your own".-Jack
  7. No they didn't come with the lower fairings. The clear plastic lower deflectors do help keep the air from coming up under your chin. I don't know of any lower fairings that can be added although I'm sure someone has tried it. You can find a lot of good info on the older Royals on the Royal Star delphi forum.-Jack http://forums.delphiforums.com/royalstar/start
  8. They sized you up and could tell you weren't one of them. If they are real hardcore patchholders, in their eyes you don't even exist. Not saying it's right, just saying.-Jack
  9. I love the pillow top seat! I wouldn't give 2 cents for a Corbin. JMO.
  10. A good quality synthetic oil may help. I use Shell Rotella T. Shifts easily. I use my heel to upshift most of the time though and I usually don't use the clutch above 2nd gear.-Jack
  11. I've got a 97 RSTC and a 07 RSV. the procedure is basically the same as far as I remember.-Jack
  12. Might also be the ignition switch. How deep of a stream did you ford:smile5:? Seriously though, I've seen this happen with the ignition switch. Carry some wd40 and soak in and around the ignition switch next time it happens. You could also grab a water hose and try to induce the problem. Soak your sidestand switch and see what happens. If that doesn't do it, soak your ignition switch.
  13. As far as a safety mod goes I would have to say my headlight modulator, closely followed by the Stebel air horn. A headlight modulator is the first mod I would do on any bike. It's a cheap and easy way of instantly making your bike much more visible from the front which is where most accidents occur IMO.-Jack
  14. Welcome scubarider! I'm not far from you in Morganton GA.-Jack
  15. As soon as you log in to your account you should see a box on the right to upload images and video. At the bottom left of that box it should say "bulk uploader" click on that and you can upload multiple images from your computer. You will have to upload several times depending how many pics you want to display. Hope this helps.
  16. Neat pics! Not a good idea to fool with coons in my area though. Rabies is epidemic.
  17. When I saw the title to this thread I thought you had a ? just for me!-Jack:think:
  18. Ditto on that. The Flanders have allowed me to ride for more than a couple of hours without getting that knife in the shoulder blade pain. Now I ride all day in comfort. The Utopia backrest works in concert with the Flanders bars.-Jack
  19. Yes. If you are riding just about every day, you don't need one.
  20. The Americans with No Abilities Act - AWNAA - The Americans With No Abilities Act (AWNAA) WASHINGTON , DC - Congress is considering sweeping legislation which will provide new benefits for many Americans. The Americans With No Abilities Act (AWNAA) is being hailed as a major legislative goal by advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills or ambition. "Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence and drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in society," said California Senator Barbara Boxer. "We can no longer stand by and allow People of Inability to be ridiculed and passed over. With this legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to a small group of workers, simply because they have some idea of what they are doing." In a Capitol Hill press conference, House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid pointed to the success of the U.S. Postal Service, which has a long-standing policy of providing opportunity without regard to performance. Approximately 74 percent of postal employees lack any job skills, making this agency the single largest U.S. employer of Persons of Inability. Private-sector industries with good records of nondiscrimination against the Inept include retail sales (72%), the airline industry (68%), and home improvement "warehouse" stores (65%). At the state government level, the Department of Motor Vehicles also has a great record of hiring Persons of Inability (63%). Under the Americans With No Abilities Act, more than 25 million "middle man" positions will be created, with important-sounding titles but little real responsibility, thus providing an illusory sense of purpose and performance. Mandatory non-performance-based raises and promotions will be given, to guarantee upward mobility for even the most unremarkable employees. The legislation provides substantial tax breaks to corporations that promote a significant number of Persons of Inability into middle-management positions, and gives a tax credit to small and medium-sized businesses that agree to hire one clueless worker for every two talented hires. Finally, the AWNA Act contains tough new measures to make it more difficult to discriminate against the Non-abled--banning, for example, discriminatory interview questions such as "Do you have any skills or experience which relate to this job?" "As a Non-abled person, I can't be expected to keep up with people who have something going for them," said Mary Lou Gertz, who lost her position as a lug-nut twister at the GM plant in Flint , Michigan , due to her lack of any discernible job skills. "This new law should really help people like me." With the passage of this bill, Gertz and millions of other untalented citizens will finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. Said Senator Ted Kennedy: "Having spent my entire adult life as a U.S. Senator, I believe the same privileges enjoyed by elected officials ought to be extended to every American with no abilities. It is our duty as lawmakers to provide each and every American citizen, regardless of his or her adequacy, with some sort of space to take up in this great nation."
  21. $45 oil? Holy cow, what brand are you using?
  22. About 15 yrs ago a friend of mine worked at the local yammie shop. He was on a bike in the parking lot without a helmet when a truck backed up into, then over him. Then it pulled forward running over him again. He "died" twice but was brought back. Had a nice jagged scar and staples in his head.
  23. Maybe a coil. Each plug has one. Coil could be bad or the lead to the coil could be disconnected. http://fiche.ronayers.com/Index.cfm/Module/Main/TypeID/26/Type/Motorcycle/MakeID/4/Make/Yamaha/YearID/48/Year/2007/ModelID/2141/Model/XVZ13TFW_ROYAL_STAR_VENTURE/GroupID/335307/Group/ELECTRICAL_2_
  24. Still praying for you and Eileen.-Jack
  25. Also not wanting to step on toes but Detroit shut itself down IMO. Companies built cars people don't want and the unions made unreasonable demands in the face of economic realities. JMO. BTW, I've been a dues paying union member for 25 yrs and walked the picket line more than once so I'm no union basher.-Jack:mo money:
