Just got home about an hour ago . We took a detour to Pa to visit friends. Yep it's all of us who should and do thank Don, Eileen, & family for welcoming us to their home. This was my 3rd MD and I'm totally amazed on how smoothly everyone works on making this event such a huge success. Don & family 1st of course and then all of the volunteers wrenching. Weather was perfect this year too. Not too hot or better yet it stayed dry. I did run into some minor sprinkles coming home today thou. In the past I had ridden down and back home the same day. This year since Joyce came with me so we stayed at the Inn. Doing overnighters is the way to go. No rushing there and back so had plenty of time for visiting everyone. Thou I bet I somehow missed some folks. Larry

Hey Charlie & Mimi Knew you'd be hooked once you attended Don's MD. Just being around everyone there is an honor. Looking forward to seeing you both at other M & E's now that you know what to except from the VR folks. Larry

Wow Bob what can we say but be thankfull that you & Becky are fine. Bikes can be fixed or replaced. I don't think your insurance company should be too hard on you seeing as it's only the bike they'll be fixing. Larry

Kenny it's good to see you posting with some good news here. While you'll still not quite out of the woods yet you'll soon will be. Continued thoughts and prayers for you and family till this is nothing but a bad memory. Hope to see you at Vogal too. Larry -
I like Annie's idea too. Maybe shots of the people, the bikes, and the going ons in a screen saver format. I have the VR screen saver on my pc but would like to get an updated version of VR whatever. Larry

Always knew this site was #1. Way to go Don. I guess we're all famous now huh? Larry

We're staying at the Oberlin Inn also. Wife called yesterday checking for cancellations. Got one. Actually we've been calling all along but this was the first time a non-smoking room was available. So our Super 8 room has been cancelled. Larry

Ian it's only about 33-35 miles from the bridge to the exit 15 so on a good day you're looking at about 45 minutes - 1 hour tops if dodging those construction cones. Speaking of: I know I-75 south of the bridge has been under construction and what detours they have in place I don't know. They may have signs up wanting to take you west on I-94 to I-275 and then back to I-75. Going that way is way out of the way thou. You'd be better off taking secondary roads and reconnecting on I-75 past the construction zone. I'll see if I can find out more on this before Friday. Larry

It is by me. If anyone thinks that that time will be changed let me know. My phone number is in my profile here on the site. We just got back from checking out that area to see what there were in facilities there. Two gas stations -- A Pilot gas station just down the street and a TA service center right at the exit corner. Across the street is a Big Boy restaurant and a Denny's next door. Set further back behind the Big Boy is a Cracker Barrel restaurant. Any one of those three restaurants are fine by us. I'll let you all chose what you prefer there. I'll be waiting for everyone to arrive in the parking area in front of the TA Service Center. Larry

Now we know what can be done with these antiques when put to pasture. Larry

I keep a spare key in my wallet, which has a spot just for that. Two slots actually so keep a truck key there too. Ya never know when they might be handy. Larry

Thanks for the reminder here. Larry

As at the past two International Rallies I'll be donating another Freestanding lift adapter. I'll probably also donate a couple horn brackets and whatever else I find I'm not using. I'll bring the items with me. Larry
-
Yep those linch pins work great. Several others have added them to their lift adapters. I haven't done so with the kits as to keep costs down. Thou I supply a bolt and nut I only use a bolt myself. Just slip it in place while the bike is in the air. On getting ready to raise the bike off the stand I pull all the bolts first and then raise the bike enough till the legs drop out of the way. Larry

Dag nabit Froggy this just isn't right and you know it. And here I was thinking I been getting off to a late start this ride season. Well I guess caging is better than sitting home and crying in your cup. See ya at Don's afterall. Larry

Wow Bob that sure looks nasty. Good thing you have a spare wire harness too. Even then you're looking at some serious wrench time. Like you said I hope you fried nothing more than wire. Gotta get the beast done before Don's M.D 3 weeks away. Good luck. Larry

There's a Pilot gas/service center just to the right of the exit ramp after getting off I-75. There's also a couple of other gas stations and restrauants nearby as well. The Pilot station makes a nice meeting location cause you can see anyone coming off that exit ramp as well as they being able to see anyone parked. I'll get a better list of what places are there. I think there's a Denny's and a Big Boy restrauant if anyone wanting to grab breakfast/lunch/whatever. Larry

That time line would be fine and no it's not too early. I figured we'd see what time you folks would be attempting the river crossing and knowing approximately how long it takes to go from there to exit 15 we would plan accordingly. I also realize that that getting across can be either a breeze or a royal pain, depending on volume of traffic and such. Larry BTW: We booked our room at the Super 8 for Friday & Saturday. The Oberlin hotel had rooms available yet but no non-smoking ones.

I've updated my info for the reservation. Wow counting heads here and this looks to be another record setting event for you Don. Talk about an invasion. Larry

Joyce and I will be going to Don's Friday as well. For you guys coming thru the Detroit area and heading down I-75 we could meet you at exit 15 near Monroe. We're about 20-25 minutes north of that and coming down I-275. Exit 15 is just a few miles south of where the two freeways merge. So if we knew the approximate time you'd be coming thru we'd hook up with you all there. Larry
