  1. Congratulations Jeff on getting started on your trike. The trikers & sidecars are growing by leaps now within the site. I hope you have decided to add a rake to the steering forks. While another expensive item it does make handling the bike a lot easier. I know I'm glad I did mine. Once you get it back take your time getting used to the handling characteristics of the trike. Hope to meet you at one of the meet & eats or rallies this next summer. Larry
  2. Count me in as another texter. Like a couple others here I can no longer hear on a phone, haven't in fact for years. With texting ability I can now communicate with family & friends. Larry
  3. Always sad news indeed to hear of another member passing on. Darrell is right in measuring his wealth not in riches but by whom he calls friends. Many who call this site their second home can be counted as his friend, even those who he had not met. Prayers for Darrell's family during these trying days. Rip Darrell. Larry
  4. Welcome back Jack. Knew you couldn't stay away too long. This place is too addictive. Good to hear that life is looking for for you once again. Like Squid says we'll have to hook up after spring breaks thru this fridged weather. Oh ya congrads on the new ride and girl friend too. Larry
  5. It sure does. must some of the new cloaking paint that makes it invisible. Larry
  6. Yea I know I was going out on limb here a bit saying there was no drivel. Compared to some sites thou we have next to nothing. I'm good with that thou. Did you say gruel & ment cruel Mraf? Larry
  7. This will get interesting. I'm marking the page now. Larry
  8. While one can find the post counts if inclined I do like the way Don has it now as they're not out in plain view. Some bike sites I frequent (most in fact) show a posters post count under their names. As noted some folks get a kick out of being a post hog. Posting nothing but drivel etc. I'm happy to say I don't see that here. Larry
  9. Congratulations Hope and wishing you a very successful career. You'll find many challenges and rewards. Oh and Charlie I can see that from here. Larry
  10. I've had Progressive insurance from day 1. Prior to me triking the bike I had 3k worth covered in accessories. They'll give you the 1st k, the rest is up to you. Last winter after converting the bike into a trike I upped that to 10k. I think it costs me about $50 more per year for the extra 7k. Otherwise if in an accident they'd only give you 1k in accessories and whatever the going rate for value of the bike is. I also had to provide the company with photos showing the finished bike as well. We all hate to pay more then neccassary but when you lay out the kind of money these bikes cost why not protect your investment ? And don't forget the medical end of the equation too. Ok that's my nickles worth, Larry
  11. Eddie click on the community bar above, And then you'll find the members list if you're on the fourm page. Home page has it located in the same area under Members List Larry
  12. Angus I just rechecked my e-mails from the last 3 days. Nothing there regarding this topic. Try again? @ lskeels@wowway.com Larry Dave I had a senior moment here getting you mixed up with Angus.
  13. Hi Dave Sorry about missing this post earlier. Just plain didn't see it till I got your e-mail. As for adding legs to a non-legged model it can be easily done. I would have to remove the paint from at least the ends to be able to weld on the receivers. Then refinish the assembly. A cheaper and I think easier solution (due to shipping costs) would be to just buy a freestanding model and either use the standard model for those times you don't plan on using the legs or offer it here in the classified section. I'll pursue this further with you thru e-mails. Larry PS: After thinking on this I'd probably just exchange it rather than redo it for the difference in costs.
  14. I have installed the AudioVox CCS 100 cruise controls on several different brands of bikes. Both carbed and fuel injection types. You will in most cases need to frabricate mounts, brackets , etc. Also it may take some effort to get the servo, controler, and vacuum box tucked away on a bike. Being a fairing model of bike this should be easly done. While Auto Zone don't carry the unit there are other sources to buy them. J C Whitney out of Chicago or E-Bay, which is where I usualy get mine from. Here's a link showing 5 available now. http://motors.shop.ebay.com/items/?_nkw=Audiovox+CCS+100&_nd1=&_fromfsb=&_trksid=m270.l1313&_odkw=AudioVox+ccs+-100&_osacat=0 Instructions are pretty straight forward but if anyone needs help drop me a line. I also agree that for the bike in question the after market unit would be easier to install than a 2nd gen assembly. Larry
  15. Sorry to hear this as well Joe. And not because you are selling the bike but because you're out of work. Sure hope you get called back soon. Larry
  16. I'd also recommend a RTV type of sealer. Preferably a high temperature one. A thin bead is better than using an excessive amount as well. You don't want that excessive sealant getting into the bikes inards and clogging an oil passage. You could coat both sides of the gasket with just enough sealant to make it tacky, then install the gasket and part. My guess is no one will be changing gaskets every couple of years. Larry
  17. So yours will be nothing but a clean slate Eck?? At least it appeared that way to me as nothing was on the page. Oh wait this way we can write on it whatever we want about you. Hmmm this'll take some thought and help from the VR family here. What say everyone? Larry
  18. I've got two of the Kruzer Kaddies. One up front for me and one on back for the Mrs. Top quality with a price to match as well but glad I splurged on them just the same. Larry
  19. I joined up here within a week of getting my bike Memorial Day weekend '05'. Can't really recall just how many folks were already here, several hundred for sure. As to numbers they're really meaningless anyhow as we're all on the same level new or old except for Don. Him being the head honcho he's #1 in more ways than one. Without Don's vision of what this site should be about and his dedication to keep it going we wouldn't be here now. THANKS Don. And moderators. Larry
  20. I agree with Carl here too. As long as the scoot and trailer are secured well there shouldn't be any problems. Will the Beercart still be attached or will you be securing it seperately from the bike? Either way I don't see a problem as long as both are well secured with tie downs. I say go for it since it's a good deal for you. Larry
  21. I bought a half cover last year for the bike when traveling. Mine is from Nelson Rig and is waterproof. This the one I bought as where and who from. http://www.newenoughhp.com/accessories/covers/nelson_rigg/uv_2000_motorcycle_half_cover.html Don't forget that New Enough gives us a discount. Get the X-Large as well. Larry
  22. One of the biggest problems is getting gauges some enough at a resonable price. As some of you have noted. I mounted a volt meter on the left handle bar and a tach on the right handle bar using a Arlen Ness bullet cup and a Kuryakyn "P" clamp. Had a oil gauge on the right side once but took it off as the tach to me is more useful. Larry
  23. Define normal? Are you? Who says so?
  24. One can never have too many friends. Count me in as well. Wait I thought everyone here on the site was my friend? Oh never mind put me done anyhow. Then it's in stone. Larry
  25. Done. Happy New year Don.
