Rear Brake Problem
sarges46 replied to ActionJax's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I dont think there is supposed to be any bubbles at all. You may have to keep it up until all you get is fluid. -
go for it! But....take the time before leaving to down load the venture riders members list. Choose to stop along the way to say hi if you wish but have that list handy in case something happens and you need help. I havent met anyone hear that isnt willing to go out of their way to lend a hand to a member in need...bank on that. For the boring prairies...crank the tunes and take in the wonder of it all....even the prairies have its own type of beauty.

My butt cannot take the seat either similost. In my riding I found the 1st gen seat to be the best stock seat...specially the 83 model. On my 89 I used a sheep skin and it worked great. I have the non pillow top on my 05 midnight and get a very sore tail bone after a day in the saddle. I found the sheepskin didnt fix it. The cheapest thing I bought was a beaded car seat cover from walmart for 8 bucks. I just put the whole thing on. It cools the rear end....and took that pressure point away from the tail bone. I tried the pillow top for a 100 miles or so and found it still hurt. Maybe its my fat butt that doesnt help.... I have a corbin coming and cant wait to try that.

I know we have several members from SC and a couple in or near Myrtle Beach. I hope all is well with the terrible fires that are happening as we speak! Hope you are able to check in.

I check mine every so often and usually I dont have to do anything unless my son is riding behind me then I have to beef it up a bit. No leaks if thats what you are asking.

Thats a couple cool ideas I've seen now for those. Now to try and think of something that doesnt look like the others but along the same lines. -

Ok...good ideas....now by any chance did you put energy conserving oil in? If you did that might just be it. Check the round stamp on the back....if it says energy conserving on it you might want to change your oil to something that doesnt say that. -
Go git him....we are all behind you (or in front if need be) guys.

If it was me and I hit something hard enough to bend the forks, I think I would get the frame checked out. There is a lot of weight coming to a stop suddenly.

Thats cute...I will show my daughter in the morning....she is a real critter person.

And I am just plain jealous Gary...and happy for you.

Potato Creek-first official Eureka Springs-second I think Colorado-third Kitchner/Waterloo-fourth Arkansas will be fifth The first two werent called international though...just venture rallies. We missed Eureka Springs because of the timing of it...no other reason...just didnt work out. Been to all the others. This year even the Dragon looms as part of our summer holiday after Arkansas.

Another thought that might help a little. Check the dampener dial. It should be set to 3 or 4 when two up and 1 or 2 for solo or wherever your preference is after checking out all positions. -

Might be fork flex and some other things. Many have put a heavier fork brace and it helps. Also other have put on solid motor mounts which tightens the motor to the frame to help eliminate twisting.
