I will be at the Skid In this year and will have tools and equipment as well as parts for the Needle Mod, Carb. Diaphragm Replacement, Radiator Drain Upgrade, Replacement Side Cover Pins, Fuse Box Upgrade Kits and Carb. Syncs. As time permits I am willing to help any member Install any of these mods on a first come first served basis. If you are interested in having any work done please post here and you will be at the top of the list. I will make sure that I have all of the parts and tools with me to do the very best job possible. It is a pleasure to work on the bikes belonging to the members of this site and who wouldn't like to ride their bike home in better condition than when they rode it there. Earl

One of my new turn signal dash indicator lamps I put in this winter burned out already. The original that was 20+ years old and was blackened and still worked worked forever, but a new one died in 30 miles. That's my luck. so today, I decided that I needed to replace the dash turn indicator as well as upgrade it, in bright sun I can barely see they are blinking and I need an indicator that reminds me that I'm being an old geezer riding with a signal blinking. I went to autozone and found the 194 lamps in a yellow led form. they have 4 super-bright LED's on each and they are $10.99 for 2 of them. They fit just fine and only work one way (flip it over if it does not blink.) The results were incredible. they are blindingly bright with high noon sun shining directly on them. no way to miss my blinkers are on. At night it will light me up as well as act as a side indicator to cars sitting next ot me. I'll try to post pics later of them working and the empty package. I forgot to take photos as I was doing the change. -
My DSL download speed has always been about 1200 kbs for years.Last month it jumped to 2600 kbs. Frontier must have done a upgrade somewhere.I'm lucky to have it. Were 12 miles from the CO.I just renewed my contract for another year.:cool10:

I've been sufferring from starter drag for a while. It would sound like there wasn't enough juice to turn the starter over and all of a sudden it would catch and fire up. Didn't seem to matter if the bike was hot or cold. I did the battery cable upgrade and it didn't seem to make any difference. But lately it seems to be getting worse then ever and now one or two starts will completely drain the battery down. I pulled the starter out and tested it and it spins fine under power but when I put the starter back in place, same problem. Any suggestions? -
has anyone used any vmax parts to upgrade there performance of the venture engine? Looking for info on how too. cam,heads ? -
I have the PCW racing clutch upgrade. When I installed it, I left the last flat spacer in, getting in to big of a hurry. I found this out because the clutch lever would not engage. I went back in and removed the spacer. After reinstalling my clutch lever still will not engage. How bad have I messed up here, and has anybody had this experience so that I might get some suggestions. I appreciate this site and the imfo I get.

Well a few of you know I decided to upgrade my bike rather than get a new one. Just decided I didnt want the Harley so my Venture was gonna get paint and some upgrades for much less money. Just yesterday I got the first bunch of painted stuff back and I will tell you that boy did I make the right move!!! The stuff looks great. I wont tell you the color but its HOT!!! I also ordered my upgrade stator and got the jets I need to retune the carbs on the way also. Anyway Im starting to get excited for the season. I dont plan on uncovering the boat this year so I got more riding time!!! BTW there wont be any pics until its done!!! LOL

I am shamelessly plugging a classified ad I have posted in the First Gen. Included are a new O'Ring and a new Stainless Steel Allen Head Cap Screw and S.S. lock washer to replace the Phillip's Head Screw. Install the upgrade and no more leak. Hey 1st genners, We have a member on the site that is having a problem. He's not real good with his english and he and I have been having corrispondence. He has a 1200 Venture and like many of you, is hating the braking system. Now I know on the 1300's that they can be upgraded with R1 calipers and better rotors. I have never dug deep enough into the 1200's to know what some of you fellas have done to upgrade the brakes on these particular models. Could some of you share any knowledge on this thread here and help steer this fella in the right direction, Thanks a bunch -
OK folks....as bad as I hate to tackle it....I am getting ready to upgrade our software again. This is a bigger upgrade than the last couple and you WILL find some things missing until I get it all worked out. The functionality as far as posting and etc. should be fine but some of the custom changes I have made over time will take some sorting out. So....I'm going to get started. Hopefully there will be no MAJOR problems.

ok....installed the venture running lights (07).....hooked up my heated gloves,vest, pants.....rode for about an hour....discharged battery......( yes, system is charging correctly)... i know of only one co. that has an upgrade stator...has anyone done this upgrade and have you had any problems...is this the only co. do i have to worry about hurting the stock rectfier, wires etc. ? how easy an install is it..... thanks

Anyone have any info on the upgrade to the 83 standard that involves getting a royale shock and a progressive spring for it to upgrade and tighten up the rear shock? I'm putting in progressive springs in the front of my bike this winter, and was thinking of doing that upgrade in the back while everything is completely apart.

I just bought the forks I saw on here on ebay for 11$ plus 40$ shipping my ? is it easy to swap 86 forks to my 84 Venture Royale I heard it was an upgrade. Call if you have first hand Knowledge 772 260-5431 TOM

Anyone tried the 9003/H4 HID kits that are all over Ebay for cars? Instead of burning a 55W bulb you're burning a 35W HID lamp that gives you a lot more light with a 20W savings. I also wonder if the computer will freak out or would you have to remove the Reserved lighting unit and other wiring and simply wire it to the handlebar switch and call it done. any ideas? a single Ebay kit would upgrade 2 bikes. Hi everyone, I'm new here. I recently became interested in the venture. I love the bike after trying a couple of them! I like the radio, and I think it sounds good, but can you upgrade the speakers so you can play them loud with no distortion? Better speakers maybe?

OMG! What a difference. I use to have a slow starter once the bike was hot. Comtemplated replacing the starter or at least removing it and cleaning it out like is recommended somewhere on this site. But I thought I'd try the battery cable upgrade first. Wow! What a difference. No matter how hot things get, even on the hottest days around here in Texas, starts right up like it is the first start that morning. I am really impressed. If all you 1st gen owners haven't upgraded to the larger battery cables, I highly recommend you get after it right away. I at first thought it would be a difficult task but the entire procedure only took less than two hours and a little bit of vaseline. AND, I didn't have to mess around with pulling that extremely difficult starter.

Harley Davidson has announced the 2009 lineup, and the big news for us in the Harley fold is the upgraded frame on the touring bikes. I have always had some issues with the way the FL's handle, and I paid to upgrade mine with a frame stablizer. Looks like they might be on the right track now..I'll ride one in Sturgis in a couple weeks and report back.

I am sure this has been discussed many times but I am new here and was getting cross eyed looking at all the posts. I would like to upgrade the quality of my sound system on the 04 venture. I have put some barons pipes on and obviously it hurt the stereo sound. I tried to use chatter box systems but they are terrible! I have read on the star web site about the speaker upgrades but I was wondering is it possible to add an amp as well. Any help would be much appreciated, I love this bike, I have had it almost two years and would have another in a heart beat. Sites like these are excellent thanks in advance. Java
