  1. What have I gone and done!!!!:mo money: I just bought this....not a BAD price...not spectacular. ebay ad # 110707308624 Now...can anybody tell me what I have to do to bring a bike and trailer to Canada from the states? That makes 3!!!!!
  2. Im looking for a second generation passenger backrest with built in armrests. mustang makes them but only for harley. Thanks Tom M. tmcmski@optonline.net
  3. I saw this trailer at Don's MD. Does anyone know who owns it and who makes this trailer??
  4. Anyone ever been to The SC Railroad Museum north of Columbia. Thinking about riding up there and checking it out the website makes it look interesting. http://www.scrm.org/
  5. I need you expertise! Could someone please direct me to a schematic that explains the workings of the first generation carbs. An exploded diagram for these particular models with an explanation would be helpful. I was hoping to find a thread with photos of a carb overhaul. I would like to understand a little bit more about what is going on. There are a lot of small holes and orifices that seem to serve similar roles. My current problem is as follows. I removed and cleaned the carbs and have cured my rough acceleration problem. Now, any adjustment to the pilot screw on just one carb makes no difference. Closing the pilot screw all the way on the other carbs causes the engine to stumble while any adjustment on this one carb makes no difference - the engine runs regardless of setting. I guess where I am a bit unsure is the role played by the other small orifices and their routing Thank you.
  6. OK I know its been discussed butI cant find specifics. When my taxes come in my wife has gave me permision to get a gps.Limit is in the $300 range. What will be a good gps in this range with bluetooth and mp3 player with an exterior speaker output. I will be getting in touch with buddyrich for a cable hook up that he makes for the 1st gens. This gps will be mostly for the bike but also will pull double duty in the cage when needed. Any ideas will be apreciated. Thanks in advance David
  7. Here in East Tennessee it was in the upper 50's today. Really turned out to be a great day to ride a while. I had to bundle up a bit but it was well worth it to get out on 'The Beast' and enjoy the feeling of the open road. After several nights of tempertures in the teens today was a welcome relief and just getting out for a while makes all the difference in the world. Can wait for spring time, I'm ready to do some riding. :biker:Did any of you get to ride today????
  8. Lots of pros and cons to be read on this site about using 15W50 synth oil in the RSV, but it's hard to turn down a 5 quart container of Mobile 1 for $23 at Wal-Mart. Been using M1 20W50 for about 2 years now, and the 15W50 does seem to be quite a bit thicker, but for older engines with higher mileage and higher rev limits, it makes sense to give it a try, especially at that price. Only concern may be clutch slippage, but we'll see how it performs.
  9. Thought you might all enjoy this one. Slushy ice flow makes it look like frozen lava flow. http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=9V9p4mFEYXc&vq=medium#t
  10. My mother passed away, this morning about 6 o'clock. She went into ER last Wed morn. Drs have been fighting for her since then. They were going to take her off the ventilator this morn, and let her breathe on her on at 7. Evidentally, her heart couldn't hold out. Kinda makes my birthday tomorrow a real bummer, but this is the way it has to be.She's in alot better place, and shes with our dad again.
  11. Even though it rained all day I still got my annual New Years day ride in.The rain was coming down hard at times but the Frogg Toggs did their job.I didn't get over 25 mph or more than 20 miles from home so that makes for a long day. Can't figure out whats wrong with people,I didn't see another bike all day long.
  12. Hello, I recently purchased a 2004 RSV. My last bike was a Goldwing and my wife had arm rest on the back and she realy enjoyed them. She would like them on our RSV but I can't find many choices. Is Diamond R the only ones that makes them? If, so those of you that have them are you and your passengers happy with them? Thanks
  13. Thinking about getting a trailer to haul the '07 RSV on longer trips...in the next couple of years I plan to have it triked it out (the bike...not the trailer) with the Hannigan kit. I, therefore want to get a trailer for now...and after it makes the change to trike. I would appreciate knowing the overall length and width of the Hannigan that some of you have done. Thanks in advance for any info.
  14. We got home from St. Judes about 8:00 oclock, other than fighting the cross winds on I 40 everything went well. (even the plug in the tire) It was good to see old friends and make new ones. Hope everyone makes it home safe.
  15. Good write here makes it nice and easy. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=258 They were out a bit. I wonder if I'll be able to tell the difference? How does one know the rpm at idle?
  16. How many members pulling one of the Piggy Backers, or any other brand that takes an 8" 5-bolt wheel would be interested in buying a set of machined aluminum wheels for their trailer? Also, in your opinion, what kind of a market do you think might be out there? I've checked everywhere and I can not find a manufacturer that makes them. Worldwide... I did find a company on the web in China that might be interested in making them, but rather than even talking to them about it I thought I'd see what others might think. Just because I'd like to find a set doesn't neccessarly mean there would be a big market... Whatcha think??
  17. I have a HTC sprint EVO phone , it has gps , radio , mp3 and a bunch more toys , my ? is anybody know if somebody makes a adapter to hook it up to our j&m headsets ? will a j&m mic work on a cell phone ? it would be cool to make a 5 pin to a cell phone jack , i know edsets makes one for the zumo and one for a cb . Thom
  18. Ron and I have been riding motorcycles for well over 30 years, like many of you. Motorcycling is what has kept us enthusiastic about life and has given us so many wonderful memories and experiences. It is what makes our relationship strong and keeps us with a very mutual interest. Have you ever given any thought as to, if you did not have motorcycling in your life, what would the alternative be? Everything I can think of in our life, other than our children and our granddaughter would be separate interests. Ron's interests are all technical, and mechanical. I am not that at all. Point of this whole post? Thank the Lord for Motorcycling in our lives, it makes all the difference. We are blessed. Yama Mama:ice_awesome-vi46644
  19. I learned why we wear off the left side of our tires , I have sold bikes because i think they have a bad frame . check out this link and tell us what you think ? http://www.rattlebars.com/tirewear/index.html
  20. This project is finally getting off the ground.I put the back blade on the tractor and began landscaping for a small shed at the camp.I picked up the materials list for a 12x12 shed with 8 ft ceiling and a gabled shingled roof. This is not about building a garage or having more storage then needed. Plan and simple 2 scoots on the other side of the creek makes me happy. No electric,no windows,no heat just storage. I got a 3 day weekend coming up quess what I'll be doing over Labor Day Weekend?
  21. Has anyone tried this, and what makes it different from regular gasoline? According to what I am reading it doesnt get stale and its legal to store in your vehicle, so what makes it different? Other than the highly inflated price? http://sparefuel.net/ Brian
  22. My 96 RSTD needs new rear tire.It currently has the Dunlop 404.However I am looking for different makes of tire in White Wall. I know the 404s have a low mi. issue .Any suggestions? My front tire looks great .
  23. 87 venture, CB and AM radio work. FM makes static noise, but no stations pull in. Possible problem? thanks craig
  24. I hope all our members made it through the stoms o.k. The news makes it sound bad. Please let us know. Dave
  25. Well, not REALLY, it just feels like it. I put a set of Diamond R's leveling struts on my Venture-WOW what a change!!!! This is without doubt the BEST $100 I've EVER spent on a motorcycle (and I've spent a chunk on motorcycles over the past 40 years:grandpa:. This makes a huge difference in the way the bike handles, feels like it's lost 200 lbs at low speed. A GREAT investment (and great customer service!!!!!!
