Took my rsv to a bike nite tonight and had it put on a dyno to see what it would do. Its all stock but h-d mufflers. I was the only non harley in the group. It peaked at 76hp and 75 ft pd of trrque at 6000 rpms. Found out the rev limiter is set at 6000 rpms so it would go no farther. I was pleased with was they said. Its amazing how maney people don't know what a Venture is.

Got to take a test ride on a '09 Voyager. Was out for about an hour ... the only thing I didn't get to test was climbing hills. Following is just my opinion... Pro's Well balanced, ample power, comfortable seating/leg/arm position. Feels and handles more like my '85 Venture without the top heaviness ... in other words, it felt a lot lighter. Handled the twisties nicely and felt stable when going over bumps in a twisty. Smooth ride on the highway @ 160km/h (thanks to a 6th gear). Rumbles along nicely in 5th at lower speeds and accelerates reasonably well. Great stereo sound quality. Nice exhaust sound Seat is very comfortable. Engine/drivetrain is relatively quiet compared to the RSV Nina experienced less wind buffeting than on the RSV No "buzzing" feeling in hands or feet Seating is lower for both rider and passenger. I felt a lot more "in control" with this bike...it was very easy to drive and a lot better in parking lot maneuvers than the RSV. Frame mount fairing .... bike is very stable in turbulence. Tracks very well. Con's It's a V-twin so under hard acceleration, you know it's a V-twin. Lots of reflection of the chrome parts on the tank in the windshield. Seating/leg position for passenger is not as comfortable as the RSV (at least according to Nina but she is taller than most women) I experienced more side wind than on the RSV Not as powerful as the RSV but it still gets ya going quick enuf. Clunky shifting, probably just a "nature of the beast" Definately not as smooth as the RSV but that's what ya get with 2 cylinders versus 4 although I found the Harley Ultra just as smooth. Overall I like the bike and it would be a strong contender if I was to sell the RSV although if Nina had found the seating position better .... hmmmm ... we might have... dang, I do like that scoot...

I'm going to be in the area around the middle of May. I like the size and the look of this sidecar. Problem would be is there any way it could/would work on a RSV? I know so little and want one so bad. hh http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/mcy/1700009499.html

Can a tank bag be put on a 2009 RSV?

If all goes well in the morning I will trade my RSV for a Valkyrie. The Valk is 7K and they are paying off the 7.7K that I owe so I figure I'm getting 14.7 for the RSV. This will be my 4th Valkyrie...I can't seem to stay away from them. Maybe I'll still go to Jax next weekend for the M&E...if Hondas are allowed.

Okay, I'm repainting my RSV. I really like the red of the H@nda GW. But now I was at this meeting, and there I saw a blue and red standing together. And I was very charmed of the blue one too. So here is my question, has anyone a picture o a dark-blue RSV? I searched om this forum, but that is really very time consuming. thanks in advance

Anyone out there have any advice to share on the best location to mount an E Z PASS on the RSV?

I know there are a buch of threads out abount tires, however, I just wanted to double check on brand. I have been using metzler me880's for a while but not happy with them at all. I am looking at Dunlop Elite 3's and just want to make sure this is a good tire(s) for my 06 RSV.

OK...Lets see how many different vids we can get to show and listen to the various WHINES that are out there. Here's mine...don't laugh. I couldn't really find a good place to mount the camera (no camera mount)...and ended up velcro-ing the camera to my GPS...thus the face pic. Anyway...here it is: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZOOmCwtpYw]YouTube- RSV Whine.AVI[/ame]

I can't imagine why I am so nervous. Couldn't be that I am getting married tomorrow!:bighug:My new bride and I will be going to PC, FL to Thunder on the Beach. If you see a guy on an 07 RSV with a little bitty redhead on a trike, say hello.

It seems like every time I turn around I am wanting to buy something else for my RSV. I'm kind of afraid to add it up. Makes me wonder - what's the most money w/0 triking that someone has put into their RSV or Tour Deluxe after purchasing the bike?

After our WNY meet and eat last weekend , my wife commented to me as we were almost home that she thought she heard a noise from the rear wheel. So I quieted the stereo about 90 decibels and listened. Yup , definately a growl between 40-55 mph accel or decel. Not horrible but certainly noticeable. Feel nothing in the seat no roughness. Could be the tire howling a bit or internal. This is my 2nd RSV and its new with about 600 miles on it. I am positive my last one did not make this noise, although maybe I didn't hear it over the whine.......Any thoughts? (Fluids full , tire pressure is spot on, rear hub was not hot to the touch)

Second Gen. Riders, As many of you already know, I hate getting ripped off and there are many issues with Yamaha Motorcycles that I think Yamaha could have addressed better. The rear shock on the RSV and RSTD is one of them! As with the rest of the "Kits" I sell in the Classifieds, I hope to bring a replacement shock to the VR.ORG members with cost and quality foremost in my mind. I am working on a replacement shock for the Second Gen. RSV and RSTD because there doesn't seem to be a decent selection for these shocks when they fail. (And they will fail!) My quest is to find something that is in the $300.00 or less range that will work on the RSV's and RSTD's. Does anyone have a shock removed that can give me a measurement, from centerline of one eye to the centerline of the other eye, and approx. diameter? Your help would benefit many Second Gen. Owners on this site. The next phase of this quest is to find a Second Gen. owner that is willing to install this new shock at a greatly discounted price to be my "crash test dummy" so to speak. Since I don't own a Second Gen. RSV or RSTD I have no way to test this new shock and again, I need your help. Please keep an eye on this thread and when I find what I am looking for, I will post for a volunteer. Thanks in advance for your help, Earl

I have an 08 RSV and am thinking of buying a coachman express camper, it is 450 pound dry weight, is that to heavy for my RSV? If not any recommendations on a good hitch to get?

Hi, I'm getting ready to install Yamaha passing lights on my '07 RSV. I've downloaded the instructions for installation and there's a comment regarding tapping into a certain wire depending on jurisdiction regulations. So to all the Ontario RSV owners with passing lights installed, are they lit for both low and high beam, lit only on high, or lit only on low? Thanks

I came across this place on ebay and they have a bunch of Yamaha RSV, RSTD and V-Star t-shirts. Didn't have any for a 1st gen, but I thought you other guys might be interested. http://shop.ebay.com/allcustomapparel/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=
