  1. did you just miss my post where they had a leak like this 31 years ago!!!!!
  2. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/#37368377 last time there was a major oil leak like this, 31 years ago, they tried the same things in the same order and they failed the same way. And that was only at a depth of 200ft.
  3. I took off the rubber tank cover, and rerouted mine up to the just under the stereo control on the handelbars. If you need it to go further, just get an old school 5 pin DIN computer keyboard extender. I did that for the passenger connector, so it now comes up between the seats and stores in the pouch on my backrest.
  4. Oh she is a week younger then ours, I though she was older, I know you got her before we got ours, guess that is why I thought she was older.. When a basset gets something in their head, it is hard to get it out.. They do make dog life jackets..
  5. Thanks for looking. I guess I am now debating between ignoring it until it really needs to be done, of getting the Barnett conversion.. I found it for $149,, anyone know of a better price?
  6. Again I ask, does you tailgate ramp come off, if it does you can remove it after loading and just put it in the back of the truck. The wheel base of the bike will fit fine in an eight foot long trailer, just the trunk sticks out another foot.
  7. You really don't see the back tire with the bags, I have Avons, a 130 white wall on the front and a stock size black wall on the back.
  8. My bike seems to be down on mileage too, was around 37 at freeway speeds and 44 slower cruising. Now around 31 freeway... I bought a carbtune and did the sync per instructions here. It didn't make any difference, but then they didn't really seem to be off either. I'm planning on running some Seafoam through it to see if that helps. Doesn't seem to be a cylinder on mine as it still has plenty of power up in 4th and 5th. Wonder if they have upped the alcohol content in gas over the last year.
  9. I like the Royal Star, TD or Venture better than the comparable HD, but the RK is a pretty sweet bike. And as far as the head to head reviews, were they of an 09 or newer RK, as they had a major frame change in 09.
  10. That goes without saying, the rest had to be re-emphasized. She is a very good looking pup. How old is she now, 5 months, born the middle of Dec right? She looks smaller than I had expected. Nice and trim though, it can hard to keep bassets trim. Our two are 4 months and a week. Both are up to 23lbs. I think they will both be bigger than our previous basset, she was only 43lbs.
  11. With or without leveling links the stock tires are junk, and switching to better tires makes it feel much better, and switching the front from a 150 to a 130 makes the bike feel much more nimble. Oh, and the stock seat is hard. I switched from a Kawasaki ZR7-S to a Venture. The Venture made the ZR feel like a dirt bike. I kept the ZR for over a year, but finally got rid of it when I realize I had only rode it three times and less than 200 miles in that year.
  12. Route down: Michigan Missouri Nevada Possible route home: Louisiana Mississippi Alabama Georgia Tennessee all require helmets.
  13. What? Bassets be mischievous? We don't believe it. Here are our two. And obviously you need a reminder of Basset Property Laws. http://www.cafepress.com/15bassethound.67189631
  14. Jeff, do you have your old spring? I only have 15k on my bike, and it really doesn't slip, but it has never felt as positive and solid as other bikes I've had.. Once down shifting and accellerating to get away from a dangerous situation, it felt like it might have slipped some. So now I'm just leary of it and thinking I'll just double up the stock spring seeing as some have said that works rather than spend a lot of money on something that might just be my imagination.
  15. I think he means, do not take the tailgate ramp off and try to tilt a non-tilt bed trailer!!! which I have done with dirt bikes, unintentionally, but they only weigh around 200lbs.
  16. She use to ride with her father, you are older than dirt, maybe she sees you as a father figure and wants you to give her boyfriend the "Just what are your intentions, boy!" speech.
  17. My trailer, left over from my dirt bike days, is the same way, I have yet to try to get my RSV on it. But I know it won't fit straight on. If it does fit it would have to be on an angle, but I don't think it will with the tail gate ramp. My tail gate ramp comes off. If yours does too, you could load the bike, then take the ramp off and put it in the back of the truck. per the goldwing forums, overall length 103.7in overall width 37.2in
  18. Good math, wrong answer as the bags and trunk stick out behind the rear tire by about another 12 to 14 inches,, More like 8ft 7in,, RSV has a wheel base only .6in longer and is 104.5in overall length.
  19. sounds like her boyfriend needs to get a bike, quick, before she trades him in on one of her own.
  20. So from reading other clutch threads it seems you can just double up the clutch spring and get a better feel. I've been thinking about the PWC clutch kit, but concerned that several people have complained about the change in friction point on the clutch lever. Does doubling up the stock spring do that also? And if not, does anyone that upgraded to the PWC have a stock spring they want to get ride of. Also instead of the PWC kit, can one just get the PWC heavier spring, I read someone here didn't like the feel of the kit and just used the spring, but I can't see paying for the whole kit if I just need the spring.
  21. Not available in 15in size
  22. Actually looking at the Avon website they don't make any white wall tires in the RSV stock sizes.. the 150/980-16 ww is actually a rear tire tread not a front. and they don't make any ww in 15in sizes.
  23. If you get an RSTD, to be comfortable you will need a new saddle or need to have yours custom re-done, almost no one is happy with it. But then a few people are not happy with the stock RSV saddle either. If you are riding solo, you don't need the intercom. I almost never use the CB, would be fine without it. I love the stereo, but you might not care. Trunk, once you are spoiled by a trunk it is hard to go without, and I even had hard bags and trunk on my previous sport touring 750. If I was planing solo only, or very seldom two up, maybe I would have gone with the RSTD instead. But then if I was only riding solo, I would probably ended up with an FJR1300 or ST1300. Mary was not happy with the passenger saddle on either of those.
  24. I have a 130 front WW,, didn't think about the stock size didn't coming in WW.
  25. Sounds like a Meatloaf song?
