Anyone have medical insurance on their motorcycle policy? Vaguely remember hearing about one for an additional $100... Just how good/what is covered on this?. Paying for my own coverage but have 5000 deductable with 80/20 split after that, so, a medical bill of 105,000 would end up costing me $25,000...

I am not planning on doing this on a reg basis, just did it to see how the delo holds up in the RSV Delo 400 15/40 at 5140 miles, I pulled a sample and then changed oil. I have a buddy at a lab, so I did not have to pay for this. Anyway the results, there were no abnormal wear patterns indicated. and the oil was shown to be at 40%. He told me I could extend the oil changes to 7500 miles, however I am going to continue to change at 5000 miles. This was just for info, oil analysis can show abnormal and contamination, but would be too expensive just to try to extend oil changes on a bike, but it does indicate to me that the RSV should do well with delo or rotella with 5000 mile change and good filters. Here is the deal being in my shoes I guess, I drive truck all 48 and not home as often as I like for the time being anyway. I got a line on a new 08 RSTD blue over black or New 09 RSV. Now there is quit a differance in price of about $5000.00. I want to ride and go with other members once in a while so I am trying to way the cost of the 2 bikes. Ride part time and save 5000 or ride part time and spend the extra money. My thoughts are why waste the extra 5000 to ride part time until I can retire in 3 years and then get a full touring bike,heck who knows by then I might need a trike. Your thoughts? Star4772

A few of us have been continuing the thread on the countdown to 4000. We hit that number Jan. 9th at about 10:45pm. Now we're up to May 2nd and we're getting close to the 5000 mark. We're counting down from 257 at the moment. Please no arguments about the number and whether folks get on here or not. I just think it's great that we've had this many folks sign up. I know not all of them are riding a Venture, but that doesn't matter. I'm betting at the rate we're going it's gonna hit 5000 before Don's maintenance day. That's June. So if you like having fun come and count down with us. Either there or here. Unless someone complains. Then I'm sorry. Margaret
