I still believe Yamamomma is going to put a trunk and all the other whistles and bells on the Stratoliner deluxe and call it the Stratoliner tour deluxe. Or stratoventure. I am willing to bet this is the last year of the Venture as we know it. After all, how meany cassette player can they have left in inventory?

We won't kill you... We'll just drag you behind a bike for awhile.

Probably will do a roto-rutter job. couple stents and all will be good. Then you will be a member of the stent club with me and Robin. Hang in there Bobby, all will be good. -
Back rest did it for me. Before the back rest I had to get off the bike after about 90 minutes of riding, now I'm good for several hours. Now if I can just figure out what to do about the tail bone pain.

He's a tuff guy... But just in case, prayer are with you big guy. -
To my surprise, as I was driving home from work the other day, there it is, a 2008 charcoal gray( i think that is what they call it) RSV, just 1/2 mile from where I work. I know the guy that lives there, but didn't know he owns a Venture. Now I know why. Apperantly it spent most of its time in the garage. It only has 3300 miles on it. He is asking $9500.00. It is an S model, but has no extra bling. Not even a luggage rack. If anyone is interested Drop me a pm. I will take pic's. He is not doing any advertising at this time.

Got a bad tank of gas while at MD, Put a couple oz's of startron in it, next day it was running smooth again.

I replaced all the wear parts. 1 ring at the bottom, 1 ring at the top. the seals. the dust rings. I seem to remember a nylon ring also. I also replaced the "o" rings on the top cap. If you like the handling of your bike, then I wouldn't replace the springs. If you want a stiffer ride then go ahead and replace the springs.

ETCSWJOE, I do believe you hit it right on the nose. If you google the new yamaha line up for 2013 you will find the new 2013 stratoliner deluxe with all the latest goody's, with the exception of the trunk. Stick a trunk on that baby and you have yamaha's new touring bike.

He was just taking a break from working on all of the 1st gen's that were lined up in front of the tent, waiting for a complete overhaul after their short ride to MD. I believe that was the only 2nd gen that needed any work, and he was just checking tire pressure.

Tom, what is the name of the resturant you are stopping at?

Robin and I are heading out Thursday, early morning. We are going to pickup the 86 in Corning NY and run that to the 90. Anyone going that way. The 86 is a heck of alot better road then the NY thruway. Last time we were on the thruway if was like riding on a wash board.

Up to 70% rain for Friday. Saturday is looking good.

I know the feeling. My oldest son wants to learn to ride. I told him to take the safty course. I guess I really don't have much to say about it, since he is 35 yrs old, married with 4 children. But he's still my kid. At least he wants a cruiser and not a death rocket.

Removing the fairing is the hard part. If you are removing the forks yourself you might as well rebuild the forks. Its not that hard to do. I just did mine. I installed progressive springs while I was at it. Make sure you have an inpact wrench to remove the bolts in the bottom of the forks. Can't remember what they are call, some people call them the drain bolt. all the oil will drain out when you pull them. There is some write ups on the 1st gen that will help. Not much about the 2nd gen, but the basics are the same. Also found some info on youtube. pm me if you have any questions. I will tell you all the things I had to do twice... or even three times But hey,now I'm an expert.
