  1. My dealer says they have several 08784 available. And thanks for the heads up on 08785 I saw them on Flanders online cateloge but it really never registered. They're all 1 inch. I don't think the black bars will take away from the looks, either.
  2. I'm still looking for the Flanders 650-08783. . .well I can get the 650-08784 (Powdercoated). . .not sure exactlywhat that means but is it a flat or glossy look. I have a 2006 Pearl White.. .I think the powder coat would look pretty kewl, wife doesn't. well. . .what do you all think. Just wondering! Tim
  3. Please. . has this been confirmed? If so, what would be the alternative? My dealer has been putting me on hold a week at a time for 3 weeks. Supposed to have been shipped after 7/4 and to be in end of this week (today) no call. I'm heading down tomorrow to see what gives. but. . .what alternatives to the 650-08783's Did everyone that changed their bars go with these? just wondering if I need to bark up another tree Just saying. . . Tim
  4. I had a Road Star with the same problem. . .I dumped a very strong amount of Sea Foam then road it like I stole it. Cleaned right up. I had just routed my Carb vent tube to the wrong place. . . .sucked in dirt and that's how it happened. NOW I do know the the Road star is a VTwin and the Royal star is a V4 but can you narrow down which cyl is missing? or is it both? Do you run SeaFoam in the gas or any additive? I won't leave home without a can! I really don't like trouble shooting but I'll sure try at saving 65 clams an hour. If I can figure it out and it's above me to fix, then I'll tell my dealer, that cuts down on their troubleshooting and I've been on the money more than not. How do the plugs look? Coil packs okay? Just saying Hope you get it figured out and wich you well! Tim ps One of my symptoms was that I could accelerate just fine. . . but just couldn't cruise. That led me to one of the jets (don't remember which) was dirty again Wish you well Tim
  5. NUTS!!! I guess the next questions is. . .Are there any others out there?? AND can you turn the risers around and drill and tap new holes for the speedo? Just my luck. . .another Day late and a dollar short for me! :depressed: Just asking Tim
  6. Well looking at Wes0778's post. . I had to see for myself. .I went out and took off the wind shield and the speedo, which attaches to the risers AND the risers actually face forward with the cap right above the head light bucket. . . . .looks like I need new bars Carbon one.. .which Flanders bars do you have? So many to choose and not real sure. As far as Highway pegs. . . .my inseam is 30 inches (and for those in the Navy that's tall enough for the Coast Guard! :whistling: .) On my Road star it was no where near this bad but the Barron risers did the trick. . guess I should've checked before spouting off. but. . .I learnt something.
  7. Thanks all! Just wondering now if the 'extender' risers will do it, basically spacers between the riser and bars . .50 bucks. . .I look through the windshield the only time I look or try to look over is when it's dark and I have a ton of bugs. . . .and then looking for deer. This pain is a killer, seems to run down my left arm. . if you've ever mowed over a yellow jacket nest. . . .that's somewhat what it feels like. More research. . .another question. . .how far can you go without changing cables. . .BUT thinking about the braided cables anyway. . .hmmmmm Tim
  8. get rid of the red hot poker sticking in my back between my shoulder blades after about 200 miles. I left IL for OH on the 2nd of June and 200 mi into the trip this intense pain worked it's way between the shoulder blades. . on the return trip the 10th it came around 150 miles into the ride. .please tell me that a set of risers will correct this. . . . Today I rode and at about 70 miles it came. . . . Tim
  9. I run mine most of the time on the highway. When I get in town, I'll turn it off when I get behind someone. On the highway, I'll run it, agian, till I get behind someone. When I pull out to pass, it's on. .I want their attention at that time. Just saying v/r Tim
  10. Please no more. . . .no more! :no-no-no: I think I want all the chrome and pipes powder coated myself! But we'll wait a year or two on that. BUT thanks for the thought! But gimme your credit card number and I'll ablige Hey, you brought it up. Tim
  11. I agree with Catalyst on this one. Don't really care for the 'bicycle' look. I'm pretty sure it's a state requirement (IL) but I don't care for them. . .I wanted to get the 'passing' lamps till one day I saw a bike with them on around dusk. It actually looked like one car following closely behind another. SO I will just stay with my head light modulator. . .A friend of mine said he could see my bike 3 miles away. . .another can't stand it when I'm behind him. . .he moves all his mirrors. . .so I'm mindful to turn it off in stop and go traffic. Best $$ I spent. . . .I had this on my Road Star for 2 years and just moved to the TD just saying Tim
  12. Me too!! Tim
  13. I use about 4 Oz every other tank. . .and add about 1/2 oz about 50 mi before oil change
  14. 1600 Yammi. . .Road Star? if so. . have him sign into WWW.Roadstarclinic.com Awesome site with awsome peoples. . . .Post his question there. . .AFTER an intro or with it. He will get a response as to what to do. I will tell you that most will have that done with the Tranny recall. . .extra for the parts but labor is free. I had an '01 Star. . .traded it for my '06 TD! Money well spent. . .I loved that bike but I can't stay off my TD! Just saying. . . Tim
  15. I think that's the best piece of saftey equipment I have EVER bought! v/r Tim
