  1. PIP and then the Cody run Looks like this is going to be lots fun.
  2. Just changed mine. It is behind the right lower cowling and pretty simple to get at. 7-7 of the manual tells you how to remove the cowling 7-35 give you a description of the fuses

    high tech

If your coming to Cody.. I will show you High Tech. Blackberry, Notebook, Netbook, American Cell Phone. If I don't take the office with me I would never be able to leave the city. Sad very Sad.
  4. Had one on my FJR 1300. Was nice to know. Miss it on the RSV
  5. Not sure whats up. Your Zumo should come with North America and when I upgraded mine to version 9 it just updated the whole thing. May be worth a call to tech Support. Garmin's support is pretty good.
  6. I have the Zumo 550 and the XM puck. I use it on the bike and in the truck all the time. The XM is great traveling on the bike and reception has been excellent. I cannot remember a time when I have lost XM reception. Have lost the GPS satellite's occasionally though . I got mine from gpscity. the price was good, delivery quick and service excellent.
  7. Do the heated vest, heavy gloves, heavy leather jacket, long johns (thermal kind), chaps, thermal socks and good boots. Also do a sheepskin on the seat. Toasty to about 32 F or 0 C. After that this little baby heads inside. My last bike had the heated grips and I found them useless. You had to wear heavy gloves in the cold to keep the tops of your hands warm anyway. Have not tried the heated seat on the bike but it sure is nice in the truck when it's cold... If you really want the powered route, I have seen someone put aftermarket heated grips on a Venture and Aerostich sells a heated liner than can be put into your stock seat.
  8. Have almost the same outfit on my RSV. Zumo 550 with the XM puck. I use a mounting plate from cyclegadgets. Works great and only $5.50. http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products....asp?prod=ZUMO The plate sits just behind the Zumo mount and works with the magnets. Looks exactly like the picture previously posted.
  9. I trailer my bike in a travel trailer and also have a motorcycle trailer. I use a wheel chuck for the front tire and use the crash bars front and back to hold in place. Found if a strap from the front crash bar to the rear eyebolt and a strap from the rear crash bar to the front the eyebolt the motorcycle sits solid with no movement at all.
  10. 85 is the fastest. Only run at 65 with the trailer on as I found that I had to stop every hour for gas... The RSV is a real pig over 65 when towing any weight... With me it is probably has to do with all the weight that is already in the saddle...
  11. That worked Now I can tour around Bemidji with the back seat and backrest on. Thanks
  12. It was late last night when I looked at this. I was looking for the thread size. I know the bolt head is 10mm
  13. I need the size of the 2 bolts that hold the back seat on. Tore the bike down to trailer it for our camping trip and forgot to put them in the bag with the other screws/parts etc (Stupid..Stupid..Stupid). Anyway I have gone to Home Depot here twice to find an appropriate bolt and both times I was wrong. I assume it is a metric size thread and it is not 7mm which I tried. Help would be GREATLY appreciated.... Yours truly The Idiot... :bang head:
  14. I'm a Zumo 550 user. I know it's a little pricey but it does it all. Waterproof/XM Radio/MP3/Audio Books/Bluetooth. I have split the aux output in the fairing and have the Zumo piped in there. Have found it great with the buttons on the side with gloves. Good luck on your search.
  15. You have to Rip/Burn the CD's to disk first and then copy them in their exported folders onto the SD card. I use Nero and it works pretty good. When you Rip the CD it will copy all of the CD/Song info with the individual MP3's and then the Zumo can sort by Name/Artist/Album etc. Is actually allot easier than it sounds once you try it a couple of times.
  16. Looks like our house... Dogs rule the roost. We pay the mortgage, buy the food and pick up the poop. They look happy though don't they.
  17. I also use a Ram Mount Beverage holder http://www.gpscity.com/item-ram-mount-cup-holder-motorcycle-handle-mount/ramb132-309.htm
  18. I just traded my 2007 FJR1300 for a 2009 RSV. Could not get it comfortable. Great bike with tons of power but between the sore butt, shoulder pain and right hand going numb it was "Not so Good for Me". Guys swear by the bike and has a strong following though. I wound up spending a fortune on trying to add all the stuff that a RSV had so it made sense to come back to the Venture. You can get a good feel for the following from http://www.fjrforum.com/forum/
  19. I am giving my Zumo vote. Great for the motorcycle and big buttons to use with gloves. Love mine... Know it's a little pricey but you get what you pay for these days. Have also had a 2730 which you can still find on ebay. Waterproof...Big screen.. Big buttons.. This may fit your bill. Have fun on your search.
  20. If you you even get close to Betty's Pies you got to go. I have dragged 2 Banana Cream pies all the way back to Winnipeg on numerous occasions. Have fun on your trip..
  21. Question: What are the symptoms you are trying to fix? Your issue may not be a registry problem but malware, trojan or virus. These insidious little buggers tend to muck with the registry and inject themselves everywhere. Good free program to use for checking for malware is at http://www.malwarebytes.org. There are some half decent free registry cleaners out if that really is your problem. Also it also depends on how long you have been running your computer build (1 year, 2 years, 3 years) and how bad the issue is. I regularly tell my clients to reburn their computers. I have found it will really take less time in the end then trying to chase these issues down. You then use imaging software to make backups and if it ever happens again a couple clicks of the mouse will have you in a clean environment. Good Luck
  22. Me too.. I had a new key cut and place it under the driver seat in between the foam and the plastic. Doesn't move and won't be found without someone taking the bike apart.
