i haven't been checking for locations, but there may be a maintenance day that he could bring the bike to & if early enough, get things straightened out. could tie someone up all day, but as said, it is better than starting over.

agree that we need more wimmen's on this thing. most wimmen have made it over to register for the T-shirt contest. We all get invited to a Yamaha vendor tent where the Bar-Bee-Q has tender loin & brisket just coming off the grill. The Yamaha dealer wants to try and mend the reputation they have for charging too much for carb tunes and putting in G baskets when the customer was supposed to get an I basket. When he sees the looks of reluctance on our faces, he adds some sugar and says he will spring for Venture air brushed denim shirts for the whole crew. he looks Yama Mama's way & asks "Can I personally fit your shirt to you?" Well, Just how unscrupulous can a stealer be!!! the men bow up and start his way when we notice some Hardly Davees riders are watchin the goings-on. It was the same bunch we left on the GAP. Suddenly . . . . .

i believe it is because our neighborhoods have changed. I say that on the grounds that just about everyone i know says they barely know the people who live next door to them much less anyone 3 houses or more either direction. with that way of living, this is what you get. with technology comes knowledge and knowing all the bad stuff that goes on, parents want to protect their children and so goes escorted tricker treating. as a side note, someone has a tagline stating something like "once you idiot proof things, the world will be full of idiots". well i see that happening more and more in the area where i live and work. it seems to tie in there somewhere.

( you are jus plain wrong for that, btw) anyway, the 2nd Gens were on the heels and were pulled in by the vortex created by the worm hole and we came in time to get parking all together. Finding something to eat was on Massey's mind. He looked around as saw . . . . .

a lot of suggestions here. it depends on the mother board and what connections are available. i have seen SATA only and mixed SATA with IDE and Floppy connectors. If you have an IDE connector, you can slave any 2 IDE devices off of it.

Get back on the road. Gene S, the world and prime time are not even ready for the show the Venture Riders would put on. this mixed rag tag band of riders is off to finish Biketoberfest. after the frisking in Nashville, Yama Mama is glad to escape into the "Lah-vee" Howell routine while she finishes recuperating. I just hope the bimbo side of the character doesn't slow us down, she has the map, ya know. It looks like we could be mounting our bikes while unknowingly humming "It's the eye of the tiger, It's the thrill of the fight Rising up to the challenge of our rival And the last known survivor Stalks his prey in the night And he's watching us all With the eye of the tiger" and so it goes until . . . . . . .

a question about being a passenger, for those that are.
massey130 replied to massey130's topic in Ladies Lair
Well Lady Massey and i read the posts here and while being quite amused at the creativeness of our fellow riders, we will adapt and overcome. looks like that's about it. we will try the over the shoulder thing and camera. thanks for the information. dale n deb in La. -
Looks like a good time was had by all. We wanted like heck to be there, but the spring will be around before we know it & we can do this. i was busier than a cheap mechanic at maintenance day at work. not to mention, i have to pay back a buddy at work by covering half of his on call time in a few days for him taking care of half my call when i had vacation time. it washes out though. next spring, i keep telling myself, next spring. dale in La

it wasn't me, but i am close enough to wish it was, then i wouldn't be here working, i'd be there having fun riding the 610 loop & dividing it with 59, 45 and I-10. but, i am working, still working, and the rain has stopped. how cruel is that.

we have had our RSV coming on 3 months now. my last bike was over 20 years ago & a crotch rocket where everything seemed fine and before i had met & married my wonderful wife Debbie. She is no stranger to motorcycles BTW We started talkin about how nice it would be to have a touring bike we could ride 2 up and be comfortable. now with a touring bike, we thought great, now we have it. Well, she told me all she could see was the back of my helmet. I have tried sitting a bit right while she sat a bit left. that didn't work cause the bike follows my eyes and i can't keep it where i need it. I have mentioned a second bike for her, but she doesn't want to do that. we would rather ride together anyway. So, with all that, what do ya'll do when ever you are a passenger to look ahead & see more than the back of a helmet? I won't be able to check this thread untill late monday night, so if i don't comment till then, you know why. i am on call at work, so my schedule is hectic. I will let Deb read ya'll's comments and maybe we can work something out. thanks, dale in La.

With the musical tone of the moment, Quickstep looks at Aussie Annie in that special way a wife knows what's on her man's mind and he does his best Thoroghgood impression and softly sings to her " Who DO ya Love". It was hard to see her blush under her helmet, but she lifted the faceshield and sang back "They call me the Breeze, I Keep rolling down the Road, wink wink, giggle giggle. Get a room for goodness sake. this may be America, but we are running on empty stomachs right about now. then from somewhere amongst the riders a Booming kind of voice sings "Girls, Girls, Girls" Well, its on now. this is an impromptu Ventures Got Talent moment. Motorcycle songs begin sounding off . . . . .

What will Alice Cooper think when he hears this sheet? Oh my goodness "Born to be Wild" will never have the same meaning! I mean, Man, are we "Flirting with Disaster" on this one. we can't sing Driving Wheel by foghat anymore - Driving handlebars just sounds stupid. Maybe we need a Magic Carpet Ride kind of theme. this could mean make us or break us - Dead or Alive. ya know like bon jovi said. but then again it could put us in the "Driver's Seat". Well that may not work with these motorcyle riders. Sheesh, we might as try this and we may wind up "Leaders of the Pack" ! Dynomite Fellas this might just "Roll me Away" like Springsteen. So i say . . . . .

while mine is not a perfect match for the pillow seats, it is close enough that it looks very nice. i did what bongbobny suggested & bought one off ebay. i paid 75 bux shipping included. they are still on there as i see them when looking at parts. its a bolt on and the leatherette is zippered for foam removal. the only "thing" i can say is when i don't wear my riding jacket, the back rest is perfect. when i have the jacket on, the back pad adds some thickness and i sit a bit more forward. it does not bother me, but is something i noticed. the rest brack can be bent rearward to reduce the felt effect, but i am not going to do that. attached is the best photo i have of the back rest. i don't remember the brand. i will cruise ebay & see if the add is up & post again if u r interested. -
looks well done. seems informative with good resources. i could not find anything on Louisiana sports though, so it may need more work.

i saw this on ebay if anyone is interested - 1983 Yamaha Venture XVZ12 Carbs rack Running condition - item number 140354822830 web link - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1983-Yamaha-Venture-XVZ12-Carbs-rack-Running-condition_W0QQitemZ140354822830QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item20adcca2ae startin bid = 25 bux I would sure hate it if the first genners ran out of parts, then they would not be able to talk about how fast their scoots are!!

Boomer......who likes seein wimmen on bikes!

ya know, i had bought the regular ATV lift from sears & can't for the life of me remember the poundage capability. i would not hesitate to lift my o4 RSV and have it up for a few hours. I also have the imitation carbon one lift adapter so steadiness is taken care of. your needs seem to be a bit more than this, so get one that is name branded where reliability is normally associated.
-
i don't have any, but i see those regularly on ebay. price doesn't seem too terribly high. take a look to see if it is something you'd be interested in. i have looked at those, but i just can't decide if i want 'em. dale in La

well, you first genners don't seem to know when to stop or slow down sometimes. maybe this is like a speed zone ahead signal & you are ignoring it. keep it up & git a tikit! dale in La.

Wot 80 mph???
massey130 replied to Ga Dawg's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
you first gener's are sure riding the centerline ! I have done 3 digits on the speedo meter with the ease of a tiller in a sand box. just to stretch the legs, ya-know. though, i do need a carb sync. i have mine on order & can't wait till it comes in. the RSV is showing the classic signs of needing a sync. that darn speed is addictive! well, really the thrill of runnin up the RPM's thru the gears and feeling that acceleration. Oh and watchin the cagers disappear in the mirror. dale in La.
